I'm liking where he's going with the Joker.

ultimatefan said:Hmmm, the first few Joker stories... Definitely sounds like the unstoppable serial killer Joker, the one who tells he´s gonna kill someone, than the police does a whole barricade around the person, and Joker gets past them anyway... Nolan reads my mind.
Looks like Killing Joke will be an inspiration too... I´m hoping the character shows a bit more of a dark side prior to his transformation, that he´s not overly sympathetic.

JTIZZLEVILLE said:This is awesome news. I'm with you Rynan, we've had enough with the sympathetic villians. Let's hate the joker from the beginning, with a passion even.
Can anyone post some of the pictures of Joker from the comics Nolan may be using for inspiration?

---------
"[The] Joker will be in this film, although he will be just one of several major villains." "The Joker. I won't spoil things for you but those expecting an exact translation of [the Character] from the comics, in terms of costume, you will be disappointed. However, let may say that this Joker will be the 'The Joker;' the way character is written is very faithful to [how] he is in the comics and I can see why WB is not interested in actors like Crispin Glover or Johnny Depp."
"Let me clarify what I said about The Joker's apperence. As far as his physical apperence goes, it seems pretty faitful to the comics - although its' never really explained why he will look the way he does. So no make up or permanent smiles on his face. As far as his costume, by 'exact translation' I mean the kind of translation that has been seen in 'The Animated Series or Burton's 'Batman.' I never said anything saying that we might not see the Joker in purple at some point."
According to the report, The Joker "...won't be zany and clowny but rather, in keeping with the tone of director Chris Nolan's films, will be dark and frightening with a broad smile under his wide-brimmed hat."
