From Bill's Drawing Board...

Here's a Superman I've been working on for someone who wanted to know what I thought Supes would be like if he were real. I plan on coloring this and adding to the DC redesign thread, but for now those who visit here get a sneak peek. The costume is really simple and straight forward. It's basically an UnderArmor bodysuit with Superman's logo on the chest. I used the Smallville version because it looks the least like it might be an S and more like it might be from another outerwordly culture, if you can dig it.

No cape. I know that may upset some of the purists, but I subscribe to the Edna Mosely thought process on capes. And Superman certainly doesn't need one. I haven't decided if I'll break up the suit with colors, but for now it will be a dark blue and a white or red logo. No boots. His "aura of invincibility" would be more than adequate in keeping a suit that close to his body intact around the feet. No belt. He has no pants that need to be held up. And, of course, no underwear outside of the pants.

I like that idea, but I think he should have pockets of some kind. I can't imagine how frustrating not ever having pockets would be.

Great drawing though!:)

I posted this in the DC redesign section, but I may as well stcik it here too.

Here's the new King and Queen. The line work is done, but if someone wants to give it some color and background and has Photoshop, let me know by PM and I'll e-mail you the hi-res line art already in a photoshop document, layered and ready to go. If it gets colored, I'll post the finished image in the DC redesign thread for The Question. The only color requirement is that the uniforms must be white.

Well, I guess I decided to throw in a bit of art on the boards. I want to start off with some older work. These first two are drawings I did around '99 when the Matrix was popular. I used my wife as a model and drew two drawings of her as a Trinity-type character. The one that is colored was done so recently.

By the way bill if i haven't told you yet your wife's hot:up: fine job you did there.

Ooooh i likey.

Here's a Golden Era Superman I did today. I wanted to use the same pose as last time because I needed to improve the face and the line art from the last drawing. I also tried out coloring it differently, but I need more practice on that. I used the same background too, but that's because I got lazy.:p

Here's a Bat-Doodle I did in Photoshop. It turned out okay so I decided to put it here.

Who is that mysterious masked man? Here's a prelim for an overlooked Superhero. Although he was much younger when we last saw him...

Here's a female Flash I did for The Question in the DC Redesign Thread.

I'm thinking I may do Mighty Man and Yukk for this month's contest. I did a study of Mighty Man with a Bruce Timm style. I think I may use the drawing in the final piece which will include Yukk. For those who don't know, Mighty man is the world's smallest superhero, and he fought crime with his dog, Yukk. Yukk's power was his looks. He was so ugly, he wore a dog house over his head. When he lifted it, it would cause people to go into shock and freak out, and sometimes inanimate objects would shatter.

Anyway, it's something a little less serious than normal. I was going to do Thundarr and make him look realistic, but I don't know if I'll have the time.

And by the way, if no one noticed...the above mysterious masked man is STUPENDOUS MAN from Calvin and Hobbes.

sound cool.

I have loved everything you've ever done on here except that female flash:( I didn't post right away wanted to be sure it wasn't just me having a bad day but something with her boobies is off and i hate hate hate the biker helmet. Just saying:)

Haha! Nice Stupendous Man. Although his shirt really needs to be striped.

Well, the biker helmet is not my idea. I did it for The Question, and he wanted an aerodynamic helmet. I don't know how I could've drawn it there without it looking dorky. The boobs are okay, I just didn't complete the shadow for them correctly. I redid her with short red hair and fixed the boobs. Whaddaya think?

When Calvin was imagining himself as Stupendous Man, he had a full costume, not just the pillowcase cowl and cape his mom made him. It was very simple, all red with a yellow belt, boots and gauntlets.

I want to do Spiff with his ship soon. We'll see...

That's true. It's just that I recently drew Stupendous Man as an adult myself and I always thought it was really funny and silly-looking if Calvin still had the same kind of clothes.

When I was in high school, I had a very imaginative friend who was a fellow artist and came up with a rather morbid, but funny idea for a comic. The name of the hero was Super Dead Guy. In my friend's idea, he was just a corpse with a suit that two guys would carry around to various crimes in progress, hook him up on pulleys and ropes and attach guns to him which they would pull the triggers by attached strings and swing the guy toward the bad guys. The bad guys would shoot him up...badly, and then he'd shoot them all via the two guys working the guns. When he got shot up too bad, they just get another corpse. I amended it by giving the two guys an invention with which they could hook up a controller to the base of the brain of the corpse, and then use a remote control, which looks like a hybrid airplane/video game controller, to control him. To my knowledge, the idea never got past us talking about it. Well, here is a quick sketch of Super Dead Guy that I may work into something more in the future.

so when the bad guys fill him with bullets and he keeps coming at them theyll be spooked - nice!

Here's a Hulk I sketched to get some coloring practice on in Photoshop.

Here's a Jonah Hex I did about a month or so ago. I did this to shrink down as an avatar for another board. Here's the original:

And here's the avatar:

I've got some old "new" art for you guys. The dates on these range from '92 to '00. The painting of Wolverine is the oldest one, and it's mixed media: watercolor (I think, it was a long time ago...:O) and pen. Then I did a pencil drawing of Jeri Ryan as 7 of 9. I think it's late 90's. And the last one is a rough for a comic I made for school. The final, which was properly colored colored and lettered, was corrupted making many format changes from Mac to PC, but this one will get the message across.
