that is a very interesting opinion.
First and foremost this is a highly stupid idea. It's too straightforward to be used as an introduction to the batman's biggest nemesis. Stealing money from gothams mob and holding it for ransom? wtf is this crap, seriously speaking, this makes no sense with the point of escalate and a mob war. LR are bunch of ******s, and they need their s*** pushed in. I truly hope this isn't how the story goes down. I would preffer that the mob can't take batman by themselves and they turn to joker, that makes joker look extremely bad ass and psychotic. Not the fact that, joker needs help in taking down the batman, that makes him look like any thug in the street. Joker is just not any thug! This also contradicts the OFFICIAL teaser. Man I want my damn footage already. WB are bunch of idiots for waiting this long, iron man already has 2 teasers. Joker needs to be portrayed as a dangerous psychotic clown mass murderer loner. Besides, joker bribing the mob is not original in a film. Oh and the reason why batman begins was so successful is because it was an origin story and we've never seen an origin tale of batman on-screen. Yes, the action and fighting in batman begins is super crappy. However, would batman begins be successful if BATMAN89 would of had an introduction of batman, I'd say hell no. When you make a movie, you need to see it in both perspective, filmmakers perspective and audience perspective which entails business. People want theatrical showcasing, that's what sells, your not investing your money in a movie, WB executives are. They need to pump up the action, because I'm sure the story for this one will not surpass batman begins.
No, it doesn't at all.
well it isn't finished yet, is it?Now I thought you told us we were getting a trailer with the WSS countdown on Halloween. Were you pulling legs...or is there an excuse or reason for why we did not get it.

Well, as far as I concerned in response to your long shpiell, if the Joker doesn't have permanently white skin, than that just makes him some regular guy who goes crazy and just decides to wear make-up; therefore he becomes just like any thug in the street and also yes, I am tired of WB not revealing any footage (well, more or less I blame Chris Nolan) I think the promotional adds are tiresome (I mean, c',mon pictures of specific places of the nation and all we get is ONE STINKIN PICTURE of the Joker that has one of his henchmen in it. I do believe that the story will surpass Batman Begins, I just hope the action does too, because those fight camera angles...let's just say I didn't like rewinding the dvd so much so I could tell if batman was kicking or punching
You didn't got the trailer, because my informant was wrong. There's a first time for everything. However, we'll see what happened within the next coming weeks, December 15 is almost here, what difference does it make if you get the trailer this month or next month? Time will only continue to move forward. It's not like if they are going to show any new footage anyways, most likely the footage they showed in Chicago was a bigger treat then the trailer. Why the rush, it's almost here.
Wait, wait, wait, why would he hold the cash to ransom? That defeats the whole purpose of stealing it in the first place. These Mafia types are family men. I'd honestly expect The Joker to steal the kids of Maroni or Falcone rather than burning a ton of money he'd probably want all for himself. I mean, originally he was a thief was he not? Who ever heard of holding money hostage? It's madness!
Very good point. I'm already excited for next month, so this whole game right now is just even more of what I was expectingt:
But hey, I don't blame anyone for being angry about driving to said location and snapping a picture of a letter, only to be rewarded with another game.
No motive? No reason? AT ALL?
No motive? No reason? AT ALL?
lol pretty much, and those people who go out and throw pictures and starts blaming on why no footage there's a simple answer to that as well. Don't participate, I live in NYC and I don't participate, because I knew we wasn't going to get anything big. WSS said they were going to e-mail u a link if you win right? A link to what? If they are smart, it won't be a link to a video, because it will leak all the sudden. This viral crap does get annoying but at least it will keep you busy till thanks giving, then comes the trailer WOOT! and the 5 minute footage WOOT WOOT.
We are talking about the joker, not Howard saint or that punk William Stryker from x-men 2. I don't truly believe any of you want to see joker being portrayed as a regular chump. Oh and putting on stupid makeup or scarring yourself doesn't imply that your the craziest person on earth. I want joker to be a sole force,a force which no one can reckon with, a force if you cross his path he will eat you alive and spit you out. After all, he's a man of his words. Joker must have a special attribute that seperates him from joe chill or any other normal thug. Ra's was a highly skilled ninja and Bruce Wayne's master, scarecrow was the head of psychiatric department and used fear toxic as a weapon. Joker must be deadly, crazy, smart, deceptive pretty much a madman that no one can mess with. I want the mob to fear the joker.
"They turn to a man they fully didn't understand"
Hmmmmm, so who was Alfred referring to, chuckles? lol. If your gonna give a statement give me some proof to back up your theory, SAD lieutenant.
I call BS
I was just being nit-picky... Epistemologically, you're assuming that Alfred's interpretation of the Joker's role is correct. He could, quite simply, be wrong. The "ransom" arrangement may not have been common knowledge -- or even apparent to Batman/Alfred -- by the time in the story at which Alfred made that statement.
These paranoid readings are typical of SHH'ers: we get a fragment of third-hand or fourth-hand "knowledge" of dubious merit, and render judgment on the entire narrative like a bunch of harpies.
Ultimately, I agree with the gist of the jabbering in this thread: that the ransom thing is kinda wack (Hasn't the Gotham bank ever heard of the FDIC? Are of the mob's assets liquid?). Sorta like how the microwave emitter thing in BB was totally wack as hell (Aren't humans mostly water? Why didn't people simply turn into beef jerky instead of tripping balls?).
And apart from the credulity-straining aspect of this ransom thing, I simply find prospect of the mob turning to the Joker in desperation (as is implied in the trailer) as a way cooler plot-device than the mob being forced to kill Batman (as implied in Latino Review's dubious story... BTW, are we supposed to believe that the Latino review guy was really knocking down Coronas with Alan Horn or some ****?)
