It's called "intelligent debating".

Or just debating in general.

Take your pick.

The mob having ALL its money is one bank sounds a bit far-fetched, even for a work based in fiction. I like the idea of The Joker manipulating the mob at some point, but it's hard not roll your eyes at this. I hope some details got lost in relaying the news ...or that it's all just bunk.

Ageed. And isn't all that money protected anyway? There has to be a lot more to it than what was stated.

As a concept it sounds ok, but the details are what trouble me. I can't see Joker taking ALL the mob's money, no less from ONE bank. I also can't see him doing it without any help from anyone other than a few goons. I'm thinking maybe he's hired by a mobster to steal money from an account that belongs to a rival mobster and instead of returning it to his boss, he runs off with it and chaos ensues. Also, I don't think he'd be that obsessed with Batman this early on.

it may not be early on...this movie is not necessarily in chronological order...:whatever:

That's really cool! What Alfred said in the Teaser :"... in their desperation, they turned to a man they didn't fully understand", it's maybe an allusion to Two-Face. Let me explain: Do you really think The Joker will give back the money to the mob?No! So maybe all the organizations will failed because we all know money is the most important thing for the mob and all gangs. And IN THEIR DESPERATION, they turned to a man (Two-Face), they didn't fully understand...We actually don't know anything about what Two-Face will do in this movie! Probably he will prepare something worst for the third movie than what The Joker will do in The Dark Knight.

Once again...WHO KNOW!?

didn't someone say that the Imax of I am Legend was going to have the first five minutes of The Dark Knight and that the first five minutes are all the joker? and that it was going to show how the Joke became the most feared man there is? if robbing the bank is what they are talking about, that is extremely weak. I was expecting some brutal killing, not robbing a bank. here's hoping the Joker is introduced better than robbing a bank, I want him to kill some people in a dark ally or something like that. but thats just me

No sir, as I understand the course of the film will illustrate how Joker becomes Gotham's most feared criminal, not the first 5 minutes of the film.

Since 90% of us are cinematic pseudo intellectuals we've seen the Godfather & Goodfellas 5 billion times, so we know.

It´s suppose to be the first five minutes of the film.

Yeah, I'm aware of the first 5 minutes of the film supposedly being shown with I Am Legend, I'm just pointing out that it's not the first 5 minutes of the film that show how Joker becomes the most feared man in Gotham, but rather the whole film.

I never said it wasn't in chronological order. I'm just saying that it sounds like a concept that wasn't really thought out much or just simplified.

You think a common killer was more feared than John Dillinger or Bonnie and Clyde, or the James brothers were "less feared" than some guy who killed a few people? Through in that all that money is the mobs and I'd say he is a lot bigger than a serial killer.

Ready?

It's not BATMAN that he tempts the mobsters with...it's HARVEY DENT!.

And with both BATMAN and HARVS slammin' them and The JOKER holding there cash for ransom, they don't really have a choice. So they turn to the JOKER because it seems that it's a good idea..Perhaps the JOKER has some sort of speech about how DENT is the root of the mobs down fall..and he wants him out! ASAP-ula! then waves their money in their face!

This would be the obsession that the JOKER needs...until..he comes across BATMAN...then he gets fludder of butterfly's in his stomach, gasp..ladies and gentlemen...it LOATHE at first sight!

still not following...here's a break down :

the bank is robbed by a bunch-a clowns...end result bank manager bites it.

the JOKER makes his offer to the mob, I've got your money now go get me
HARVEY DENT.

Some altercations take place...and one way or another The JOKER meets BATMAN - ooooo.

He becomes obsessed and then changes directions - " I NOW WANT THE BAT" with a wide grin.....

there you go

This just doesn't seem to jive with what we know about this Joker. He wants chaos in the city, not unity. It would seem against character that he'd get all the mob to join forces against a common enemy. Plus, that wouldn't even work. They'd go after Joker, and then it'd just be a race to see who can get all of Gotham's mob money first. I hope either the LatinoReview guy misinterpreted what he heard or the studio exec was wrong.

Why would the Joker have a grudge against Batman if they haven't met each other yet?

Could be that by the time the movie starts, Batman's been working on cleaning up Gotham for a while. And we know that he's already trying to stop the Joker's crime spree shortly after the end of BB. If Bats is trying to stop all the Joker's fun, the clown prince is not going to be very happy...

These "spoilers" that we have been getting lately, arent really holding up that well.

I don't really consider Latino Review that trusted of a source. Until I hear confirmation from someone that I really trust on these board then I'm still skeptical about it.

Uhhh what do you mean?

So far everything I have heard is beyond amazing. The Two-Face stuff, and Joker doing what we all ready knew he would do. I don't see the problems.

Its truly a fanboy's dream, isnt it............now think about that.

Oh come on. It is a FACT that this is stupid beyond belief. The mob would never hold their money in one place.

And it never says directly it would. WIth a lot of interviews people don't get the whole story.

Don't even try to bash Nolan, he is one of the most intellegent directors of our time, he ain't going to make some thing like this with out explanation. Though the Joker could take a lot of their money. A lot of people hold BONDS in a single bank to get more profit off of the annual income percentages. And the more they hold in one bank the more they get money. No its stupid to think that Nolan would make it where ALL the money is there, but there could be a HUGE chunk of it in a certain bank.

Maybe you should read TLH again. Because this feels a lot like it. When Falcone is trying to get Wayne to back him.

BTW I'm not saying LR is right, but I could see this being a wink towards TLH. LR is wrong a lot I agree. BUt to me if this is true they did not get the full story or say it correctly.
