From Producer James Wan...Annabelle

Annabelle: Creation crossed the 100 million mark in the domestic BO on Tuesday. It's amazing how Annabelle is actually challenging the main franchise movies. At this point A:C is guaranteed to collect more than The Conjuring 2 at the domestic BO. For an R rated Horror sequel, this is a great achievement. It's even more impressive that a sequel which is technically a prequel to a spin-off from the main franchise is pulling such awesome numbers. The reception of the previous movie wasn't very good so this one doing so well is remarkable.

Annabelle: Creation is basically locked to finish with at-least 103.5 million and that'll mean, A:C managed to snag a 2.95 multiplier. That is unprecedented for a horror spin-off/sequel/prequel. Plus the movie is at 191 million OS with at-least 6 million left in the tank from the existing markets and Spain can bring in around 5 million or so to take the final tally to 202 million. So A:C is poised to finish with 305 million+. That's simply outstanding. The Conjuring Universe continues and improves it's awesome streak as a massive moneymaker and great ROI prospect for Warner Bros.

Damn I don't know if it was solely because I didn't have much in terms of high expectations for this, but surprisingly I really enjoyed it. A huge improvement over the first Annabelle IMO, and easily my favorite movie in the Conjuring franchise so far. This is the kind of well directed, strongly acted, tense/suspenseful supernatural horror film that I go for. Major props to David F. Sandberg, because even though I wasn't that impressed with Lights Out I can definitely tell the guy has talent, and if he keeps this up I can see him being the next James Wan in a couple of years.

8/10

I don't know if you know this or not but Sandberg is going to direct Shazam. He is definitely following in the footsteps of his mentor.

Just watched Annabelle: Creation. Whilst it was definitely an improvement on the first one it was by no means great. Good performances and it built the atmosphere well, but nothing in it creeped me out like The Conjuring or The Conjuring 2. For me Wan is a tough act to follow. 7/10

To conclude #ScareDiego, #BreakingNews! Gary Dauberman will direct the next #Annabelle movie, set when the Warrens bring her back to their artifact room, targeting their daughter Judy. James Wan calls it “A Night At The Museum” with Annabelle!

FYI Gary Dauberman was a writer on both Annabelle movies, The Nun and IT.

Conjuring prequel with Annabelle, nice. :woot:

Glad to see Gary Dauberman going up to direct it.

Great news! This horror universe is working really well for me.

So Farmiga and Wilson are in on this?

Then doesn’t that basically make this the third Conjuring movie?

EXCLUSIVE: Details on 'ANNABELLE 3' - That Hashtag Show
We’ve learned that the plot for the upcoming Annabelle 3 centers around Judy being left home with a pair of babysitters, taking the Warrens and their vast experience, out of the picture. Teenage babysitters Mary Ellen Jones and Denise Fuller took a bad job, as explained by the film’s logline: Mary Ellen and her friend Denise spend a quiet evening babysitting Judy until their encounter with the Annabelle doll causes the evening to take a dark turn.

Annabelle 3 will begin filming in Los Angeles this October and is currently casting for Mary Ellen, Denise and Judy. The film is expected to release sometime in the summer of 2019.

Child star Grace will play Judy, the Warrens’ young daughter who becomes a target of the demonic doll, Annabelle.

I understand the movie will also turn on the experiences of Judy’s two teenage babysitters.

No word yet on whether Conjuring 2 stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, who played the Warren parents, are aboard. Pic is due for release on July 3, 2019.

So this is basically Conjuring 4 after the third one comes out? Unless the Warrens aren’t part of it, which I can’t see how they wouldn’t be.

So, when they are off in Amityville?
