Screen Name: Catman_prb

Character you'd like to portray: Angel

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Advanced regenerative powers, notable hand to hand combat techniques...oh and he's a vampire.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Buffy the Vampire Slayer, WB

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
Born Liam, in 18th century Ireland, Angel was sired by the vampire Darla. He then rampaged around Europe with her as Angelus, siring other vampires such as William the Bloody, and the totally insane Drusilla. However, he was cursed with a soul by a group of gypsies in the late 19th Century. Consumed with guilt, he wandered around the globe, trying to seek penance. Eventually he came to Sunnydale and fell in love with the new Slayer, Buffy Summers. After a long set of circumstances, including becoming evil again and being sent to hell, Angel decided it was too dangerous to stay in Sunnydale with Buffy, and instead left to Los Angeles. After co-founding Angel Investigations with Allen Doyle and Cordelia Chase to 'help the helpless', he became one of the foremost champions for the Powers That Be. Constantly hounded by the evil law firm, Wolfram and Hart, Angel worked for penance for the acts he commited as Angelus. Saving the world from many Apocalypses and recruiting many more members to Team Angel, he finally declined the leadership of Wolfram and Hart, opting to stay at the Hyperion and not risk corruption. Forming an uneasy working relationship with the BPRD, often taking on freelance contracts for when a red giant isn't subtle enough, Angel and his team continue to work in a world that seems to be changing faster than they can keep up.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As many as I need.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:
The playground was almost deserted, except for the two little girls who were sitting on the swings, gently rocking back and forth. They looked around as one at the newcomers, who disrupted their quiet little world. Angel looked between the twins, duster jacket blustering in a wind that also mussed up his hair.

"You know what I want to hear," he said, awkwardly. The two girls looked at each other and smiled.

"The Slayer's dead,
She's lost her head-" the pair began in unison.

They were cut off when a large broadsword swept around in a wide arc, slicing through their necks and severing their heads completely. Angel shrugged at the disapproving look that Lorne was giving him.

"They were evil!" he protested quitely.

Lorne sighed and shuffled his jacket.

"I know, Angel-cakes, but we've talked about this. You don't rid the world of evil until after we've got the information," he said, running a green hand over his face. Angel shrugged again.

"Come on, let's get back to the Hotel," Lorne said, walking out of the playpark. Angel followed him, looking at the blood on his sword.

"They were evil right?" he said.

"Eh," Lorne said "Either way. Twins give me the heeby jeebies,"

You're accepted, as far as I go.

so the girl from the ring's brother is gonna kill us all with a clock?

Haha! Good! I'll have someone to work off from the get-go :D

I was just sat here wondering what kind of chance John would have going up against someone like Radall Flagg :P

Now that could be fun. We need to have a chat, see how your Judgement Day links to my Doomsday... :cwink:

so the girl from the ring's brother is gonna kill us all with a clock?

The clock's a reference to the doomsday clock in "Watchmen". As well as a certain clock-obsessed villain from a show you might have watched.

INTERTEXTUALITY~!

This is all so confusing.............There's a group of super heroes who watch men? creepers!!!

I still don't get the clock doomsday thing. I was hoping Niki could live past Midnight, but it doesn't sound good for any character.

The clock isn't counting down in minutes, or at any uniform time. I'm leaving it to the "Watchmen" players to decide whether there even is an actual physical clock at all.

I got the idea from someone (I believe it was Syn) who, in their pitch for fitting "Watchmen" into our continuity, suggested that a mysterious clock counting down to midnight appeared in Manhattan out of nowhere.

ooooo, coolness. I'll be at the countdown party with confetti.

Screen Name: Green Lantern

Character you'd like to portray: Major John Casey, NSA

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Excellent sharp shooter; a man at his athletic peak; impeccable willpower

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Originally appearing on NBC's hit action comedy series "Chuck" and currently also appearing in Wildstorm's "Chuck" comic mini-series.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
John Casey has been with the NSA for several years advancing up to the rank of Major. He's known for his brutal methods and his take-no-prisoners philosophy. He's one to shoot first and ask questions later. Which is why his current assignment aggravates him so much. A year ago the NSA and CIA pooled their intelligence information into one central computer, the Intersect. A rogue CIA double agent, working for Norsefire, Bryce Larkin destroyed the Intersect Computer, but not before stealing it's secrets and sending them to college friend Chuck Bartowski. His mind absorbed all the information from the computer becoming a living backup of the intersect. For the past year, Casey has begrudgingly been protecting Bartowski.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?:

Works for the NSA, but by his own methods, so probably Walking The Line

List a few reasons why you chose this character:
Adam Baldwin is for the win... He's the penultimate badass, and Chuck is one of my favorite shows on TV.

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: At first not that much from the official version, other than having Bryce be working for Norsefire. But after I work out my solo arc there will be a lot of differences.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I bring to this fine RPG an experienced roleplayer with several seasons under his belt. I also bring a late night snack, maybe pancakes.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG:
At least one, more if neccesary.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

A year. One fracking year. Agent John Casey rubbed his temple as he woke up in his queen sized bed. Last night had been a quiet one. No national emergencies triggering a flash from Chuck, no bombs targetted on generals, no secret agents trying to kill the living computer. Just a night of tequila shots and cheap beer at a local bar. Even secret agents needed a night off, but he was paying for it now. Groggily he reached to his nightstand for his excedrin, popping six of the pills before getting out of bed and taking his shower. An hour later he was at Buy More. His job. He sighed, what a life, fifty-seven kills to his name and he worked as a retail stooge as his cover. This was the reason he drank.

He watched as the reason he had this godawful cover walked in to the store. Chuck Bartowski, Nerd Herd employee. He was also the source of countless government secrets, and a perrenial thorn in Casey's side. It was his job along with CIA agent Sarah Walker. At least he didn't have her cover. She worked accross the street at the Wienerlicious. She also had to pretend to be Chuck's girlfriend. Yeah, like thats a believable cover. Hot blonde bombshell dating a computer geek. Casey stared down the geek as he walked in, letting him know that he was in no mood to chit chat. The look never stopped Chuck though. Stupid bastard.

"How's it goin' Casey?"

Casey just grunted. "Not talkative today, huh?"

Casey grabbed Chuck by the tie and lifted him to his toes.

"Listen Bartowski. Just because I protect you doesn't mean I like you. I'm tired. I'm crabby. I'm hungover. And I DON'T LIKE YOU. So NO. I'm NOT talkative."

Screen Name: RGDurant

Character you'd like to portray: Dr. Peyton Westlake/Darkman

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest:
Darkman cannot feel any sort of physical pain, due his severed thelmic nerve, with his emotions amplified as side effect, his adrenaline runs unchecked through the body in times of stress, giving him augmented strength, endurance, and rapid healing potential.

He is also a scientific genius, a self taught actor capable at imitating people's voices accurately, and his liquid skin can provide an endless array of disguises, for 99 minutes that is. A talented inventor, chemist and surgeon, Darkman builds his own arsenal and survaillance equipment, makes his own explosives and poisons, and can efficently treat wounds, both minor and serious.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?):
Darkman as briefly published by Marvel Comics and Dynamite Comics, as well as the Universal movies and novels

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): Peyton Westlake was born on December 3, 1959 to Elizabeth and Harold Westlake. From a young age he developed an interest for science and medicine when his father left while his mother was gravely ill, though his school years he was a top student in science and chemistry. After he graduated high school, he went to John Hopkins University where he receives his M.D., while there he met a pre-law student named Julie Hastings.

After Julie graduated, they moved in together, Peyton began a hospital-funded project to develop a synthetic skin to replace skin graph procedures in severe injury cases, after several experiments, he could only make the skin last 99 minutes, after which is reduced to a puddle of foul smelling waste product. Soon afterwards he proposed to Julie to marry him, she was hesitant and left Peyton without an answer, that very night, the lights in his lab went out during a skin experiment, he discovered the skin lasted longer in darkness due to the synthetic cells photo-sensitivity to UV light.

Within mere seconds of the discovery, Robert G. Durant and his gang raided his lab, on the orders of real estate tycoon Louis Strack, looking for an important document that Julie left in the lab. They killed Peyton’s lab assistant Yakitito, viciously beat Peyton; burning his hands on electrical transformers, dunking his head into a vat of boiling solvent then leaving him to die in an explosion set up by Durant with two flammable tanks, a dipping bird and a lighter. Peyton’s badly burned body was thrown clear from the building and landed in the nearby river.

Julie was standing outside of the lab when it happened, Peyton is presumed dead, blown to bits because the biggest piece of him they found was an ear, she has a quiet funeral for him and continues her life.

Peyton was found by fishermen and taken to a highly advance burn ward, The surgeons observe the severity of his injuries and the pain he was in, they performed the Rangeveritz technique (Severing his thelmic nerve that receives pain) rendering him unable to feel pain. The other side effects of the operation consist of amplified emotions, extreme depression and uncontrollable fits of rage. The result of this is unchecked flows of adrenaline through his system in states of anger or stress, giving him highly augmented strength, endurance, and rapid healing potential. He escaped from the burn ward and headed into the streets, finding a black gentleman's trenchcoat and fedora hat, He set a new lab with his salvaged equipment in an abandoned factory to continue his synthetic skin research.

While Darkman continued his experiments, he comes to realize his desire to exact revenge on the men who destroyed his life. One night while watching Julie at a party, he saw Durant and Rick, the man who killed Yakitito. Later that night, Darkman confronts Rick, beats information out of him about Durant and kills him by shoving him out of a manhole during late night rush hour thusly a truck crushing his head.

The second to go would be Durant’s muscle Paulie, Darkman use his skin to imitate him, stole a briefcase of money from Durant, and let Paulie take the blame, Durant had Paulie thrown out of a window of his high rise apartment. Peyton managed to rebuild his face from a damaged photo and went back to see Julie, after a brief reunion he fails to tell her of his disfiguring experience and his transformation to Darkman. Darkman imitated Durant next in order to steal money from an important deal he had with a crime boss in Chinatown, Durant and his men were baffled when they confronted Durant’s double. Darkman escaped from the clutches of his enemies while Durant and his men shot at him.

The sudden change in Peyton became apparent to Julie when she witnessed him viciously attack a carnival worker who was trying to cheat them. She went and told her boss, Louis Strack. He then revealed that he was responsible for the attack on Peyton and was in league with Durant. She left, Strack called Durant and told him to follow Julie. Later Julie went back to Darkman’s factory hideout, there she was immediately captured by Durant’s men, They took her to Strack while two of Durant’s men, Smiley and Rudy, pursued Darkman into his lab. Durant circled around in a helicopter, using a mini grenade launcher to kill the man he destroyed.

Darkman managed to disguise Rudy as himself and get shot by Smiley, after which Darkman viciously beats Smiley and leaves him to die in the very same kind of explosion they left him in. Darkman climbed onto Durant’s helicopter, after a brief struggle, Darkman was knocked of the railing but managed to grab and hold tight to the helicopter crane cable as Durant tried to blow him up. Darkman hooked the cable to a semi truck and the helicopter crashed when it entered a tunnel, supposedly killing Durant.

That night, Darkman confronted Strack and Julie at one of Strack's unfinished buildings, they fought and Darkman got the upper hand, he dropped Strack head first of the 650 foot structure. Julie tried to convince him to return to his previous life with her, but he told her that even if he perfected his skin and covered his wounds, he would still be a monster unable to control his rage and strength. He left Julie, disappearing into the streets in another mask.

Afterwards, accepting his fate as Darkman, Westlake continued on with his research, while embarking on various strange encounters, with criminals, with the undead, and often with him pitted against his seemingly indestrucible nemesis Robert G. Durant.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?:
Walking the Line

List a few reasons why you chose this character:
He's my favorite hero/anti-hero, over Batman, even over Rorschach, he's number one in my book. He wishes in vain to return to the life he once had, that was torn from him by criminals. He does not fight crime and corruption for the betterment of the world around him, he does because he's a deranged monster of a man, hellbent to avenge himself and anyone else who had been victimized.

I've also haved RP'ed as him many times in the past.

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?:
I may focus a little more of his vigilantism than the science fiction aspect, he will slowly lose more and more of his humanity as time drags on. He'll still have the one ray of hope, but he becomes more and more violent.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: A monster of the night that criminals will fear, a man torn asunder by his emotions, his loneliness, his hopeless prediciment, his rage, that he could never have his old life back.

I should also mention the glorious chaos and violence Darkman seems to attract.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: Just about any day, definately twice a week.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

"Gimme the money ****!"

In any backalley at night, you'll find vermin in this city, all the freaks and ghouls come out to play. One such ghoul, a skanky thin man in moldy clothes had a switchblade to a woman's ear, bellowing onto her face, spraying her with spit while demanding her money. The girl, an obvious street walker no more than eighteen, was trying keep composure through tears and shaking legs.

"I...I uh.....I can't, my mother, she's in the hospit........."

"I don't give a ****, gimme now!"

The girl was too scared to act rational.

"No!"

The pimp gritted his golden encrusted teeth, took a tight hold of the crying ****e's hair, and prepared to slice her face.

CRACK!!!

The pimp fell to the ground, screaming in agony from his broken ankle, the switchblade swinging wildly in defense. A rough, bandaged hand grabbed the wrist in mid swing, snapped it like a twig, and with a strong pulled, dislocated his shoulder. It was too much pain, tears flowed down his filth caked cheeks, blinding him, all he saw of his attacker was a huge black shadow looming over him, rearing back for a death blow.

CRUNCH!!!!!

The heel of the attacker's boot stomped into the top of the pimp's skull, blood, grey matter and bone spewed from his ears, his eyes popped from they're sockets under the force of the blow, death gripped his spine, his lungs, his heart.

The Darkman observed the corpse briefly, letting the dull shock of murder to settle in his gut, he bent over and started searching it for anything of value.

The young prostitue watched him with a mixture of amazement and horror, he save her life by commiting a vicious act, how should she feel about it. She would have suffered worst at her pimp's hands, but to witness this.

"I won't tell anyone, you saved my life."

Darkman paused and looked over at her, his bandaged face hidden under the shadow of his hat brim, causing her to shiver in terror, the skeletal hands pulled the pimps wad of cash from under him and tossed it to her.

"I won't be needing that."

Holding the thick pile of bills, she stayed her ground

"Who are you?"

"Just a concerned citizen, taking a late-night walk."

She nodded with understandment, gave him a slight, grateful smile, and scurried away from the urban legend. Darkman pocketed the dead's pimps switchblade and ran off into the alleys that were his hunting grounds.

Chuck is applicable?! It seems I must reconsider my second character choice...

GL and RGDurant are approved by me.

App up for Noah Bennett coming soon...
Sweet! You saw my first post, right? That's the continuity I'm going with - since it's what we tried to establish in the Heroes RPG 2.0.

EDIT: If you want something different, I'll make someone else pull the trigger. Just so long as Angela Petrelli calls it in.

Character you'd like to portray: Noah Bennett

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Noah has no powers, but is skilled with in several different field techniques, including use of a pistol and "persuasive measures."

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Heroes

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
To most of the world, Noah Bennet seems like a typical, if slightly geeky, suburbanite father. His loyalty to his family and his loyalty to his profession are frequently at odds. While it's clear that he loves Claire very much and would do anything to protect her, his methods indicate a level of ruthlessness that conflicts with his genuinely caring nature. For example, while he seems to initially show real concern for Isaac's well being and rehabilitation, he does not hesitate to have Eden use her persuasive powers to make Isaac use heroin again when he believes he needs to make use of Isaac's precognitive abilities. Similarly, while his use of the Haitian's memory modifying ability on Brody seems somewhat restrained given his intense anger at the boy, the casual use of the same ability on Zach and even his own family shows that his dedication to his job—and to keeping Claire safe—knows no limits. He does seem to possess his own moral code, though, as his intense reactions to Sylar's murders and Eden's father's callousness attest. (from Heroeswiki)

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?:
Walking the Line

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I love the morally grayness of HRG. And Heroes :)

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: After season two, have him come back to the company with alterior motives. :)

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I can bring boose. I can bring women.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: Enough.

Noah stood along side his long-time partner, the Haitian. "So, what do you think?" They stood outside the apartment of Julien Dumont, a meta-human who had reportedly been abusing his ability to clone himself to bring himself great fortune at others' expense.

The Haitian scowled. "I will be able to take away their powers, but I don't know if that will get rid of the clones."

Noah grabbed his pistol from its holster and cocked it. "That's what I was thinking. Let's hope." He knocked on the door. "Mr. Dumont?"

The door opened and a man with long black hair answered the door. "Can I help you?"

Noah smiled. "Yes, my name is Noah Bennett and we're here from a company who is concerned with your well being."

Julien scoffed. "Uh, I'm not looking to buy anything." He tried to close the door but Noah slammed his foot forward, keeping it open.

"You have me mistaken, Julian. We're not here to sell you anything. We're here for you." He pulled his gun and pointed it at him. "Don't move or, I swear to you, you will never clone yourself again."

A look of anger and fear filled Julian's face. Quickly, the Haitian moved his hand onto Julian's forehead, and within seconds, Julian collapsed on the ground.

Noah stepped over him and moved into the apartment. "Well well, look what we have here." Before him, a large group of clones had collapsed on the floor. "It appears they're connected. You took them all out."

The Haitian smiled. "Look like luck smiled on us today."

Noah holstered his gun. "The day's not over yet, my friend."
