From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: Peter Parker

Character you'd like to portray: Federal Agent Jack Bauer, Formerly associated with C.T.U. of Los Angeles

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Bauer has no powers to speak of. He has been trained as a member of the US Army's elite Delta Force unit. While serving, he showed an unparalleled dedication to the nation, earning medals such as the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, and the Legion of Merit. After retiring, with the role of Captain, Bauer worked for the L.A.P.D. and the Central Intelligence Agency.

His is an expert with firearms, interrogation techniques, and foreign languages. At this point, he has been shown to speak Spanish, Russian, and Siberian.

As described by Antonin Scalia, "Jack Bauer saved Los Angeles.... He saved hundreds of thousands of lives... [who would] convict Jack Bauer? Say that criminal law is against him? 'You have the right to a jury trial?' Is any jury going to convict Jack Bauer?"

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): 24: Nightfall, as published by IDW.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): Go watch Seasons I-VI of the television show 24. Jack is basically an uncompromising Federal Agent who works for the governmental agency C.T.U., the Counter Terrorist Unit. However, since the events of the last season, C.T.U. has been dissolved. at this point, Bauer is a solo operative for the United States government, working with his colleagues

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Walking the Line Actions, Heroic motives. Interpret that as you will.

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I have loved 24 since I saw the first season. Bauer has been a perfectly trained government agent since his creation, and hasn't needed anything but his training. He's not a super-spy, he doesn't use gadgets, and he steals his cars from civilians. Everything he needs he gets of his own resources.

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: That's a good question. To be honest, I'm not sure he will. There aren't many ways you can change a character like jack.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I failed english.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: Three.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

The following takes place between 6 AM and 7 AM.

Washington D.C. is the center of the United States government. While state and local branches of the American political system oversee governmental affairs at a basic, local level, the epicenter of political activity is in the nation's capitol. All three branches of the government are centered in a relatively small geographical region. Both houses of Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court all sit within a ten-mile radius of one another.

Nine years ago, a ship floating in Lincoln Harbor was found with the crew deceased, murdered. Federal investigative agencies were on scene relatively quickly. One such agency was the now-disbanded CTU, or Counter Terrorist Unit. Investigations yielded leads that indicated that the organization Ansar al-Islam was responsible for the attack on the vessel. The terrorist organization, relatively poorly funded and organized, agencies claimed, would be unable to plan and execute such an elaborate an sophisticated attack. The ship's cargo manifest indicated that a substantial shipment of the ingestable toxin Ricin was on board the vessel, but, at the conclusion of the preliminary investigation, the ricin could not be found. CTU and it's collaborating agencies deemed the ricin as the target of the attack. The lead CTU field agent, Agent Jack Bauer, spearheaded the investigation into the missing Ricin shipment. Preliminary intelligence suggested that, should the entire shipment find it's way into the water supply, natural gas supply, or general population, casualties could rank in the hundreds of thousands.

After tireless hours of work, Bauer and his teammates at CTU discovered a connection between the terrorist organization Ansar al-Islam and a prominent figure in then-President Harold F. Barnes administration. Barnes' Secretary of Defense, Bruce Newton, was found to be in possession of several recorded phone conversations with the leader of the American-based cell of Ansar al-Islam, plotting the retrival of the ricin. Staging a meeting between the President and Newton, Bauer was able to meet the two in private, in a seculded portion of the East Wing of the White House. Once locked in the room alone with the President and Newton, Bauer proceeded to knock the President unconscious with a direct blow to the back of the neck. It is believed that Bauer then began to interrogate and extract information from Newton. The secret service, unaware of the President's meeting with Newton and Bauer, were in a panic and soon made their way to the room, but, upon arrival, found Bauer missing. He presumably escaped from a window which seemed to have been smashed open with an ornament from the President's personal desk. He eluded capture and returned to CTU where he was debriefed, but not placed under arrest due to the legal defense of "necessity," which explains that if a person's lawfulness will cause more harm than his inaction, he may break the law.

After an extensive physical examination, Newton was found to be in severe condition. The tip of the middle finger on his right hand appeared to have been sliced off with a very fine razor blade or knife. There were lacerations along the backs of his ankles, calves, and the undersides of his thigh. Contusions around his throat indicated that he had been strangled with a wire from a lamp, a method Bauer would use later on his brother, Graem. Four bones in Newton's arm had been broken, along with two ribs. The nail on his right thumb had been heaved out of the flesh, causing maximum pain and minimal blood loss. Newton had been shot once through the leg, just above the kneecap, an inury which has confined him to walking with both a cane and a knee-brace. He later admitted to taking part in the ricin conspiracy, claiming that he was planning to use the weapon against the terrorists to incite a breach in the cell's command structure, resulting in the collapse of the organization from within.

The conclusion in the day's events resulted in Newton's resignation and he successful recovery of the ricin. Bauer and his team at CTU L.A. and the FBI are largely credited with recovering the information necessary to the locating of the ricin.

"Does that sound like an accurate recolection of the day in question, Mr. Bauer?"

Jack Bauer now sits across from a panel of Congressmen, the subject of a Senatorial hearing regarding interogation methods used by the former agency CTU. His responses to the questions asked of him could prove to save his freedom, or condemn him to life imprisonment.

"Yes, sir."

"Do you have anything to add?"

"They tell you how easy it's going to be. They sit you down in a metal chair and they strap you to countless machines, polygraphs, and vital monitors and sit there and tell you not to worry, not to listen to your gut, to ignore every modicum of humanity you have coursing through your veins. They tell you that once you take your first life, taking another one won't seem so bad. They veil their motives in good intentions. Hopes, dreams, promises of a better America. They deny the fact that the America they claim to so desperately protecting and creating died decades ago. There's nothing left of it. The nation, the government, is nothing more than a distorted echo of what it used to be... what it could be... what it damned well ought to be. Bureaucrats and politicians thrust their fingers in my face. They shake their heads in disgust when they hear about the things that I've done. They want apologies, they want excuses, but what they refuse to admit to themselves is that, while they want to save the constitution and the government, they want results more."

"I get those results. And if you expect me to apologize for it once, you're wrong. I've served my country with honor, sir. I've served it well, and I've served it with pride. The people of this nation don't owe me a single thing, but I'd like to think that I've at least earned your respect. I've been shot, stabbed, tortured, and interrogated. All in the name of the flag that's sitting behind you, all in the name of what this country stands for and, more importantly, what it should stand for."

"Surely, sir, you don't mean to come after us."

"Oh, but I do. As years have passed, the government of this country has grown more and more compromised and, senator, what you seem to fail to realize is that the people of the nation are paying the price. The people who I care about most have been alienated from me, some worse than that, all because I've been loyal to the government agencies and task forces I've been asked to serve. I serve the people of the United States of America, not corrupt politicians who bring chemical weapons into my country under the guise of patriotism."

"You feel no remorse for your actions?"

"Senator, Mr. Newton actively attempted to subvert the President's authority in a matter of both foreign and domestic policy. That behavior is tantamount to a coup d'etat."

"Yes, Mr. Bauer, but who are you to balance Mr. Newton's intentions with the results they caused? What gives you the right to coerce information from him?"

JackBauer24Day7.jpg

"Senator, I've learned that sometimes intentions aren't good enough. On that day, I was faced with a decision that could have cost thousands of people their lives if I failed to act. A man like you is probably too used to working behind a desk to understand that. This hearing serves as little more than a means to your end of disgracing the CTU organization and my work. What you seem to have overlooked in your zeal to make an example of me, Senator, is that thousands of Americans survived that day without even knowing how close to death they came. Frankly, sir, you owe me. The people of the country do not, but you, sir, do. You were serving a term in the House of Representatives when the attack occured. I would expect a senator of your caliber to show some humility and deceny, instead of throwing my colleagues and the agency that saved your life to the wolves. With all due respect to Mr. Newton, he had the title of Secretary of Defense, a title which he failed to live up to. He put the lives of thousands of Americans in peril and, with all due respect to his kneecap, and civil liberties, and the law itself, those lives needed to be saved. If you're looking for an apology, Senator, I'm afraid that you've come to the wrong place. Because, frankly, I'm not sorry."

"Very well, Mr. Bauer. You shall see your day in court and a jury will decide your fate. Bailiff, take Mr. Bauer into custody and take him to a holding cell where he can await him arraignment."

Someone approve this man. Where are all the GMs?

Also, is there anyone out there willing to team-up with Ben? We need to start getting some more interaction going.

I'm one of the GMs. And If you want Bauer to team up with Ben, I think that could be cool... but Ben had better be ready to deal with a man with a pretty gruff exterior.

oh and Spawn is assasinating Petrellis? Tracy's there right now *gasp*.
Spawn's not assassinating anyone. He was SUPPOSED to assassinate Arthur and his family 5 years ago, but Al ran into Angella who convinced him that doing so would ruin his and the Earth's future, and he went home and beat his wife... That's about where I left off.

You're approved, PP.

On a similar note, I officially drop Rorschach. I'm going to apply for a new character in his place, so I can return to his game in full force.

From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: RGDurant

Character you'd like to portray: Jason Voorhees

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: In life and in undeath, Jason has exhibited both superhuman strength and the ability to regenerate lost and damaged tissue. Both of which not only make him a virtually unstoppable killer, but also make him effectively immortal. Even in states of death, his body has remained intact despite the incalculable damage he has received over the years. The cause of his regeneration is a mystery, for it could either be a genetic phenomenon, a result of his reanimation by lightning, or some other supernatural force that keeps him alive.

Jason is an expert murderer with a personal body count of over two hundred victims. Spending most of his life as a hermit in the woods have given him uncanny skills in stalking, trapping, and killing his prey. He also has a perfect visual memory of the Crystal Lake woods and it's various shortcuts, allowing him to patrol and stalk with ease.

Jason doesn't have a real preference for weapons, as he's extremely skilled with all types of cutlery and sharp implements. However, he seems to have an affinity mainly for machetes and axes, and also employs survival knives. He's also very good at using his bare hands as killing weapons, and makes good use of any implement or blunt object he's able to comes into possession of.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Friday the 13th and Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash as published by Wildstorm, DC, and Avatar comics, as well as the Paramount movies.

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): Tis long and complicated.

Jason Voorhees was born to Pamela Sue Voorhees in 1946, June 13th. His father was Elias Voorhees. Not much of him is known. He has red hair and is silent, but very intimidating. Soon after Jason was born, Elias abandons the family. It is believed for this reason Jason's mother became severely overprotective of her only child. Jason was deformed physically, and of lower intelligence. But he never got sick and he never expressed the feeling of physical pain. Jason, as a child was naturally shy due to his overbearing mother. With no other choice but to work for money Pamela becomes employed at the near by summer camp as the cook and Jason is, for the first time, exposed to others. Because of the nature of children and his own physical deformities, Jason becomes the target of many cruel exploits growing ever worse.

One summer day in 1957, the ultimate cruelty is performed. Jason Voorhees is somehow, either on accident or on purpose isn't known, thrust into Crystal lake. Despite his screams nobody comes to help. The on duty counselors are other wise occupied. Jason drowns in the lake, but despite searches for his body it is never found. The belief persists that Jason is dead. His death would turn into some what of an urban legend. Some people used the story as a warning that Jason would pull people down under the water if they could not swim. It was a ghost story and few actually ever really believed it was anything more then just a morality story to keep kids in line.

After Jason's disappearance his mother, Pamela Voorhees, went insane with grief and killed two counselors in a cabin having sex, presumably the same two not paying attention to her son when he drowned in Crystal Lake a year later in 1958. This gave the name to the place as "Camp Blood" Pamela then haunted the camp and sabotaged the attempts to reopen it. These attempts are unsuccessful due to "bad" water, and fires. The camp remains closed for twenty one years, and the murders remain unsolved. Eventually Steve Christy gains the money and the staff to reopen the camp. Despite the warnings the locals give of the "Death Curse" the plans go ahead anyway. Pamela returns to the camp and kills the counselors with out mercy one at a time. The lone survivor of her attacks, Alice Hardy, confronts and tries to escape Pamela's insane pursuit, left with no other choice but to resort to violence Alice then obtains a machete and beheads the insane woman. After this she gets into a boat and moves off into the lake. Alice then has a nightmare of Jason Voorhees emerging from the water as a child, seeking revenge for the death of his mother. She awakens in a hospital room and learns that they never found any boy in the lake. Indicating that the encounter was nothing more then a nightmare inspired by the trauma of the collective events of the previous horror.

Pamela Voorhees was killed by a violent beheading from Alice. The most brutal murders in the local history would soon become stuff of legend and spread like wildfire. The survivor of that night, however would suffer some lasting nightmares and be institutionalized for a short time. Unbeknownst to all, Jason had not died all those years ago, instead he had chosen to live off the land and become just as beastly as his surroundings. It is unknown why he chose not to reveal himself over this time, but even he knew that it was a world he did not belong in. Jason spent his time living off the land and stealing what he needed to survive. He was basically harmless until that fateful night. Attracted by the commotion, Jason had arrived just in time to witness the only one who had ever truly loved him murdered. Jason never forgot that horrible night and his rage consumed him completely. Two months after this night, Alice returned to Crystal lake to prove to herself that the nightmare was truly over. Jason was aware. As an act of revenge, he kills her with an icepick, but not before Alice is treated to a frightening appearance by the severed head of the killer from her nightmares. Her body is not found. Four years later Paul Holt opened up a camp counselor training ground near the camp. Paul tells the story of the night the others died, then he speaks of Jason and how he kills anybody who goes on to the now abandoned campground. Despite believing that Jason is still dead, he warns them not to go over there anyway. However, Sandra and Jeff decide to go anyways. They are found by a police officer and brought back home. But this is more then enough to incite Jason's inhuman rage. Later that night the majority of the trainees escape into town for the night, leaving six behind. Jason dispatches them through the course of the night one at a time.

Ginny Field and Paul return from town and quickly discover the horrible carnage. Jason appears and gives chase, Paul engages Jason in conflict as Ginny runs screaming into the woods alone. Ginny eventually finds an old shack, and when she enters it, becomes immediately aware that no normal person lives here. She finds rotting corpses, including the decomposed remains of Alice and a shrine to a severed head. Remembering the story of his mother, she makes a last ditch effort to live and finds the sweater his mother was wearing so many years ago hoping for a chance to trick Jason. The killer enters and for a few minutes, the ploy works. Jason sees through the illusion just before Ginny has the chance to strike. She is saved by Paul at the last minute who breaks in and once again stops Jason. Ginny then drives a machete into his shoulder seemingly killing Jason. She and Paul then returned to the training camp, and they locked themselves in a cabin, minutes later Jason rammed through one of the windows and attacked one of the two remaining counselors. Ginny awakens in an ambulance after this and there is no sign of Paul or Jason anywhere, and it takes her away from the property.

The next day, however it would seem that Jason is not as dead as he appeared to be in the first place. The grievous wound he had taken, was already beginning to heal. Jason, knowing that the police are swarming the area retreats from his land until the intruders leave, moves to a place called Higgins Haven. It is unknown why he would venture so far from his hunting grounds when his shack was much closer. Jason is quickly aware of the new intruders. Vacationing teenagers were warned by Abel, when he found some body parts and showed them. His warnings went unheeded. That night brought more blood and horror for everybody involved. One by one Jason begins to slaughter any who get in his way. One thing of mention. Shelley, the prankster is killed, however Jason takes his hockey mask and dons it for the first time.

The look would become a thing of legend. Nothing seems to be able to stop Jason, and nobody is immune. From shop owners to gang members. At the end of this horrible night, only one remains. Her name is Chris. And she is nearly killed by the monster, but she succeeds where others have failed. With a swing of an ax to the head, Jason is felled once again. Mimicking Alice she gets a boat and moves into the lake. Her mind finally snaps with a nightmare in the morning. She sees an unmasked Jason coming for her from the house, moments later a decaying Mrs. Voorhees emerges from the lake, and takes her down into it. Chris awakens and is clearly mentally disturbed at this point, she is taken away by the police who were hot on Jason's trail, and Jason's body remains at the scene this time. After these two days, Jason has killed 21 people over the course of a single weekend, not counting Alice who was killed some time before all of this. Jason Voorhees appeared to finally be killed once and for all. But legends never stay down for long.

Jason's rampage was seemingly brought to an end that night in the barn. The police had finally caught up with Jason and secured his fallen form as it lay there. Chris is brought away and the terrible nightmare finally comes to an end. Jason is carefully removed by officers and transported to Wessex County Morgue. Jason is put there next to some of his earlier found victims, or what is left of them anyway. The morticians, along with everybody else is a bit spooked they are in the presence of such a vicious killer, but the dead are harmless so their concern focused else where. Impossibly as it may seem, Jason somehow managed to live through the ax to the skull. His unique physical trait of regeneration has saved his life once more. Rising from the jaws of death once more, Jason proceeds to kill once more, his so called keepers are the first to witness his rage and become the newest members to an ever increasing body count. Jason knows where he belongs, and he intends to return to his land, nothing will stop him.

Despite the murder spree, they still come to the lake. Teenagers either oblivious or just foolish enough to not pay attention to the events around them looking for a escape from their lives. Murder isn't their problem, nothing bad or horrible could ever happen to them, and they come to his woods without fear. It does not take long for the murderous Jason to return to his woods, and the night begins to creep around the edges of reality once more.

There are some though, who have lived here their whole lives and just recently learned of their relief knowing that the monster of the woods had finally been stopped. One such family is the Jarvis Family. They are a trio of your average American family with out a father figure however. Trish Jarvis is the sister of Tommy Jarvis, this kid has a special gift for making masks and is a little on the weird side, but extremely intelligent.

Jason Voorhees makes his way back to the lake and kills any who he meets along the way, but somebody else has come to the lake as well. Somebody looking for revenge against the killer, for a victim taken not more then two days ago. His name is Rob and his sister was Sandra. The night slowly comes down upon them all and the blood begins to flow. Trish's car breaks down and it is then that Rob meets with Trish and helps her and Tommy fix the car. Upon getting home, Their mother is missing and nowhere to be found. In the summer house near by Jason is doing what he does best, spilling blood of anybody he sees. Not knowing what to do Trish decides that Rob knows more then he is telling and goes out to find him. She does and it is only then that Rob tells her of his real purpose in the woods. Alarmed at the story she immediately fears the worse about her mother, and quickly returns home to warn her brother Tommy of the danger, but she is too late.

Rob searches the basement of the house, and despite all of his bravado and iron will, Jason kills him like any other victim. Trish and Tommy run through out the house and attempt to get away. All attempts fail, Trish tries to save Tommy by distracting Jason long enough for him to get away. She manages to make him drop his favored weapon somehow in the process. Tommy, determined to not let his sister die uses references from Rob's researched newspaper clippings to make himself look like Jason did as a child. This distracts the killer long enough for Trish to attack Jason, but she misses and only knocks of his hockey mask, revealing his deformed face possibly for the first time. Jason attempts to kill Trish for this exposure, and in his blinding rage came his down fall.

Tommy took up the killer's weapon and thrust it deep into his skull, into his brain. Jason drops to the floor the blade does not move and makes the wound deeper as his head slides into it. The crisis seems over, but Tommy sees Jason's hand twitch and he loses control. Taking the blade up once again he loses his mind and several times over hacks away at the fallen body. Tommy had done the seemingly impossible, he killed Jason Voorhees the bloody weekend was finally over and the last one to die would be the killer.

Tommy would never see his home again, or his mother. The bodies were found and were hoped to be the last. In all Jason is known to be responsible to have killed at least thirty four people over the course of a single weekend, however in the coming days at least fifteen people were reported missing. None of them have been found as of yet and it is presumed that they were victims in the weekend long killing spree. Tommy would spend the next many years in and out of various hospitals and institutions, but destiny would have other plans for the young and now tortured soul.

The memory of the monster refuses to fade. Tommy Jarvis has had little rest from the maniac from when he killed him and since there was the impostor Roy Burns that made all these memories come rushing back to the surface. Learning that Jason's body had not been destroyed but simply buried is simply unacceptable. Tommy and his friend Hawes make their way to Eternal Peace Cemetery and plan to destroy the body once and for all. Upon arrival the very sky itself seems to come alive with fury at the prospect of messing with the dead. Tommy and Hawes dig up the decaying killer from the ground and find Jason, very much dead. Tommy loses his temper at the very sight of the monster and attacks the corpse with a metal pole several times, leaving it in the body as he exits the hole. Seemingly on que, the sky opens up and the power of electricity comes down and strikes the fallen monster, not once but twice.

To his horror and worst nightmares come true, Jason rises from the grave.

As of today, the Crystal Lake area has been deemed condemned property by the state as a better deterrent to prevent more possible murders. Jason has remained alive and active in his home territory, but is living a more quiet, watchful life, due to the lack of trespassers.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Walking the line

List a few reasons why you chose this character: Jason was the very first character I played as back in the good ole days. He has been the first slasher, and one of the first characters I remember regarding as an icon. I haven't rp'd as him for months and I'm always eager to do so.

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: I like to portray him as a very tragic character, not a just a mindless killing machine, but a cursed soul. While he is still the mass-murdering behemoth we know and love, I want to bring more introspect to him.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: One of the 4 legendary slashers in the hands of a well experienced RPer and horror enthustist.

And did I mention there will be punch and pie?

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As many needed to keep this RPG alive.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

The iron grey waters of Crystal Lake were shrouded in the omnipresent night mist, tranquil without even slapping against the water's edge. The heavily wooded area around also remained still with eerie silence, not even the natural music of crickets or a breeze of wind could cut through the thickness of the fog. The cursed land was dormant and at peace as it had been for years, years long past the time it remembered the sounds of death screams and fed plantlife with the blood of youth.

Silence was broken with the sound of thrashing leaves and nervous giggles. A young couple were running in the dark towards the lake, hand in hand, the teenagers decided to spend their night together in the infamous camp.

"Hold on! hold on! hold on I gotta catch my breath." the young girl gasped as she tried to keep up with her track star boyfriend. He stopped and let her rest, looking about the place, seeing the various cabins, or rather the debris of cabins.

"Aw man, I was hoping there was still one cabin standing." the boy groaned in disappointment, “It shouldn't matter, the cold air will feel good, and we should keep each other warm once we get started."

The boy grinned and join his girlfriend on the ground, starting to makeout hot and heavy. His hands snaked up her shirt.

KI KI KI MA MA MA

"What was that?" the girl asked, a little startled, "Nothing, just the wind." the boyfriend said, trying to continue his makeout session. "No, it was like footsteps." the girl replied, getting frightened. The looked around, skeptic at her nervousness.

"It's noth......."

THWUNK!!

The girl screamed as the hot blood spewing from her boyfriend's severed neck all over her. She tried to push away the corpse but froze when she saw his killer standing over her with a blood caked machete in his hand.

The hockey masked killer rammed the blade down hard and impaled the girl through the neck.

*******

SPLASH!!

After tossing the last of his victims remains into his lake, Jason Voorhees turned and hulked back into the woods.

Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype boards?
