From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: NiteMare Shape

Character you'd like to portray: Spike aka William the Bloody
Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Highly skilled in armed as well as unarmed combat, advanced regenerative powers, exceptionally high pain tolerance, situational adaptability and analytical abilities. As well as normal strengths and weaknesses of a vampire

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dark Horse Comics

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): One night in 1880, William's existence changed forever. Up until this point, he had led an entirely unremarkable life. He was a struggling poet, who, when not caring for his ill mother was unsuccessfully pursuing the affections of Cecily, a woman who believed that she was simply too good for the likes of him. For the most part he had no real friends, only acquaintances who teased an mocked him as well, even giving him the nickname "William the Bloody," on account of his "bloody awful poetry."
On this night, after being rejected by the object of his affections, William quite literally "bumps" into the vampire Drusilla, who takes him under her wing, transforming him into a vampire.
After his rebirth, William's first thought was of his mother. He returned to the home he shared with her, and in an attempt to end her suffering from tuberculosis, sires her as well. Unfortunately for him, this did not turn out well for him. Upon becoming a vampire, William's mother began berating him, making suggestions that he had a sexual fascination with her. After being subjected to his mother's tongue lashing, William found he had no choice but to stake her, as he would rather see her dead than to live as a demon. This incident was very traumatic for him, and had left deep psychological scars that he would carry on with him for nearly a century and a half.
After leaving the home that he had shared with his mother, William and Drusilla rendezvoused with Angelus and Darla, and the four vampires caused mayhem all across Europe as well as Asia.
At some point, William adopted the name "Spike," because of the pleasure he took in torturing his victims with railroad spikes, perhaps as a way of lashing out at one of his tormentors from his mortal life, who had once stated "I'd rather have a railroad spike through my head than listen to that awful stuff."
Over the decades that the four vampires rampaged through Europe and Asia, Spike and Angelus had developed somewhat of a sibling rivalry, mostly stemming from Angelus' continued physical relationship with the ever unfaithful Drusilla. They also had somewhat of a philosophical difference when it came to killing. Angelus enjoyed the act of the kill more for its artistic value, while Spike relished the thrill of the hunt. Also, Angelus did not share Spike's eagerness for combat.
While in China during the Boxer Rebellion in 1900, Spike ran afoul of the Slayer. After a brutal fight, Spike gained the upper hand, and eventually killed her.
Spike continued on his path for more than seven decades before meeting a second Slayer while in the New York subway in 1977. The second Slayer, Nikki Wood again put up a valiant fight, but was eventually overpowered and killed by the vampire. This time he took a souvenir, her black leather trench coat, which would become his trademark along with his platinum blond hair.
Shortly after escaping an angry mob while in Prague, Spike and Drusilla (who he affectionately referred to as Dru) arrived in Sunnydale California. Here they joined with the remaining members of the Order of Aurelius and attempted to eliminate the current Slayer, Buffy Summers. Spike led a group of vampires to attack the Slayer at her high school just two nights before the Night of St. Vigeous, the time when a vampire's powers are at their peak. During this attack, Spike is reunited with Angel, who has been cursed with his soul and now fights along side the Slayer. Spike is defeated, and is forced to return to the Order's hideout in an old factory. There he offers penance to the leader of the Order, "The Anointed One," before throwing the childlike vampire into a cage, and exposing him to daylight.
After Angel loses his soul and reverts back to his previous persona of Angelus, Spike is delighted to have his old partner in crime back in the fold. However, Angelus quickly wears out his welcome by once again pursuing Dru, as well as belittling Spike every chance he gets. When Angelus comes up with a plan to reawaken the demon Acathla and suck the world into Hell, Spike forms an uneasy alliance with the Slayer to defeat Angelus.
Spike kept his word to Buffy for the most part, staying away from Sunnydale for nearly a year before returning full time during the Slayer's freshman year in college. When he returns, he picks up where he left off before the temporary truce with Buffy. That is, until a secret military group known as The Initiative captured him and implanted a chip in his brain. This chip effectively "neutered" him, making him incapable of harming humans.
After escaping The Initiative, Spike went to Buffy for help. From this point on Spike became somewhat an unofficial member of the "Scooby Gang," although he temporarily betrayed them when the demon cyborg Adam promised to remove his chip.
After Adam's defeat, Spike again rejoined the Scoobies, fighting along side Buffy, who he had developed romantic feelings for. He helped Buffy and the rest of the gang in their struggles with the Hell God Glory, even subjecting himself to torture in order to keep Glory from finding out that Buffy's own sister was "The Key" which she was looking for.
After Buffy is killed in the final showdown with Glory, Spike continues fighting with the Scoobies, and even looks over her sister Dawn.
After Buffy is revived, she and Spike begin seeing each other. It is not a healthy relationship, as she is using him to cope with being pulled back to this world from "Heaven." The relationship is often intense and violent, and leads to Spike learning that his chip does not work when he hits her, leading him to believe that she came back "wrong." Buffy eventually ends the relationship, which leads to Spike again leaving Sunnydale, this time traveling to Africa where he seeks out a demon shaman, who he hopes will "fix" him. The demon puts Spike through several potentially fatal trials, which he passes. As a reward for surviving the trials, the demon restores Spike's soul.
Eventually Spike returns to Sunnydale, but he isn't the same. The restoration of his soul has driven him mad from guilt. Buffy finds him and brings him to her basement where he tries to come to terms with his current situation. He finally regains his sanity and helps both Buffy and Faith, train the Potential Slayers for the upcoming showdown with "The First."
Soon, the chip which the Initiative had implanted begins to malfunction, and is removed (much to the dismay of Buffy's long time friends Giles and Xander) before it kills him.
Unfortunately, The First had programmed Spike with a trigger, in the form of a song that his mother had sung to him when he was a child. When this trigger was activated, Spike became a relentless killer. During a showdown with Robin Wood, an ally of Buffy, as well as the son of the Slayer that Spike had killed on the New York subway, Spike is able to figure out what the trigger is, as well as work out the issues he has about his mother, breaking the hold the trigger has.
During the final battle with The First, Spike and the Slayers go into the Hellmouth itself and do battle with the First's vast army of super vampires known as the Turok Han. Spike wears an amulet that was given to Buffy by Angel, an amulet that is to be worn by a champion.
When the amulet activates, it emits a bright light that destroys the First's army. Instead of leaving with the rest of the gang, Spike chooses to stay in the Hellmouth, saying that he wants to "see how it ends." He gleefully watches the destruction that he is causing, until he is eventually destroyed by the light as well, his sacrifice closing the Hellmouth for good.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I think I can bring a great character into this rpg. He is one of my favorite characters...period. I've always wanted to play him in a rpg of some sort, and this provides a unique opportunity to play him in a different type of setting

How will this character differ from it's original incarnation?: He will be much the same as the original incarnation, however the main difference is that because Angel had turned down the offer to run Wolfram and Hart, Spike was not accidentally brought back by Angel as a ghost, but brought back by Wolfram and Hart themselves so that he could serve their purposes

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: I can bring an experienced roleplayer to this game. Also, I can bring a great character, some sarcasm and smokes.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As often as possible,
Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

He sits alone in the dark room just as he has done since he was brought back. He doesn't know where he is, or how long he's been there. And he sure as hell doesn't know how he got to where he is.

The last thing he remembers is standing in the Hellmouth, watching the destruction that he was causing with the amulet that he was given. He remembers a searing pain as the amulet began to incinerate everything in that pit, including him. Then there was nothing.

The next thing he knows he is again surrounded by a raging torrent of wind and fire, but this time he is not alone. He remembers seeing people, in fact there were a lot of people, most of them in suites. As he looked around he saw that he was in some sort of office, and it dawned on him.

For years he had heard stories about a law firm that dealt almost exclusively in the supernatural. Most of their clients being vampires and other sorts of demons. But he always thought that they were just stories, even though deep down he had a feeling that they were true. If anyone could have brought him back from the void, it would be them. But why would they bring him back, then lock him up in this dark room alone. His only contact with the outside world being when someone slides a packet of blood through an opening no bigger than a mail slot, and slamming it shut before the packet even hits the floor.

So he sits, pondering his past...and his future. Wondering what his future will bring, and if he even has a future. He begins to wonder if maybe this is a punishment for all the evil he had done through years. Maybe he wasn't brought back at all. Perhaps this is his Hell. Just as he begins on this line of thinking the door to his cell opens, filling the room with a bright light. Standing in the doorway he sees two figures, one male, and one very familiar female.

"I hope that you've been comfortable. We needed to make sure you were, how shall I say this...? Stable, when we finally came to talk to you. Why don't you come with us, we have a lot we have to talk about...Spike."

"Indeed we do. You've been a very, very naughty boy...deary."

Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype boards?:

You're approved.

Ok, I need something for Chuck or the boys to do because my brain not new things now thinking.......

Well, Crews and Monk are investigating Vampires in LA. Or, if you want to have some fun with Chuck, I've got an A-Team arc once they get off Cobra Island that concerns the spy world. I'll PM you if you're interested.

Damn, the thought of either team up sounds classic. Not sure if I want to get into vampires again, although I guess that make Chuck's team the only experts in the area. ;) And the thought of Chuck, Crewes, and Monk together...

and, hey, they're all NBC characters! :awesome:

oh wait, so are the A-Team :awesome: :awesome:

I was assuming the fellas from Supernatural were going to be with the vamps. I think once you get my PM about the other idea, you might be in favor of it.

I need to look up the montage music on Youtube. I found the opening theme, so each new mission will open with the opening.

Since you showed me that wonderful clip a few weeks ago, one good turn deserves another.

So you somewhat alter your characters actual history to fit the game though?

Yeah, pretty much. Like with the characters from Watchmen, we updated their origin to make them the same age in 2009 that they were in the book. Just altered so they can halfway fit into this cluster**** we call the RPG.

Character you'd like to portray:
Proto Man
Protoman_Blues2_by_Evannrpg.jpg

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest:
* Proto Buster: Proto Man is able to transform his left hand into a blaster. He can also charge energy to make the shot stronger.

* Proto Shield: A strong shield that can deflect most attacks, he also dashes while holding it, using it as a battering ram.

* Proto Strike: A powerful short range charge shot.

* Big Bang Strike: An energy blast of tremendous power. This attack is very dangerous to Proto Man, however, as it severely drains his energy.

* Variable Weapon System: Proto Man can copy weapons from other robots and use them to his own advantage.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?):
Mega Man (Dreamwave Comics)

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
(I do not need to alter his history because there isn't anything farfetched that would prevent robots from existing in this RPG-created world)

Proto Man was intended to become the first humanoid robot capable of independent thought and reasoning and built for the purpose of combat.

Being a prototype robot, Proto Man's design was not complete. It was later discovered by Dr. Light that Proto Man had a dangerous imbalance in his energy core that would eventually kill him. However, being created too independent, not having another of his kind to interact with and severely troubled by his incomplete status, Proto Man had begun growing distrust for the good doctor. Fearing Light would change his character, Proto Man refused to have Dr. Light meddle with his systems and went missing.

Dr. Light had presumed Proto Man to have died and regrettably gave up on him. Learning from his mistakes, he perfected the energy core and created sibling units Rock and Roll. The combat aspects of Proto Man's design became the basis of the Sniper Joe series of robots, as well as Rock's later upgrade.

Knowing the time of his demise, Proto Man wandered the world alone. Before his energy reactor was completely depleted, he was found by the exiled scientist Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily managed to temporarily repair Proto Man by altering his energy core from a solar to a nuclear one, as well as making other modifications. He also gave Proto Man his now-trademark visor in an attempt to hide his identity from Dr. Light. Presumeably, working on Proto Man's systems gave Wily greater knowledge in creating robots, helping his plans for world domination along.

Indebted to Wily, Proto Man served him under the alias of Break Man. He did this until his encounters with Mega Man in Mega Man 3 made him realize the true nature of Dr. Wily. Proto Man turned on Dr. Wily, aiding Mega Man but refusing help from Dr. Light, still holding onto his feelings of distrust.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?:
Walking the line

List a few reasons why you chose this character:
Proto Man is hands down my favorite character from the Mega Man franchise. I was going through my comics and stumbled upon this 4-issue comic that Dreamwave Comics released of Mega Man a few years ago and thought of how sad I was when it was so quickly canceled when the company closed down. There are so many evil robots created by the treacherous Dr. Wily to choose from for story arcs and to fight that I couldn't pass up this idea. The games always focus on things from Mega Man's perspective, so now I have an opportunity to tell a tale with the robots from that game and comic from Proto Man's view.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG:
Super fighting robots. Do I really have to say more?

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG:
As much as is needed to keep my pace steady and help the RPG move along. So hopefully at least once a week.

I watch them from above, perched on top of the water tower which lies on the building that towers the one they reside on. I knew they were going to be here, was just a matter of time. As soon as the news struck of the new energy source it's of no surprise that Dr. Wily would soon send his goons to steal it. I've been perched upon this water tower for three nights now and they've finally come. Wasn't hard at all. For a human, perhaps. But not a robot.

Of course, I'm not just any robot.

I'm Proto Man.

"Hey, Guts Man you stupid oaf! Are you forgetting the plan? Step aside so that Elec Man can do his job."

And these...are sorry excuses for robots.

"Uh, sorry Cuts Man. I forgot. Elec Man shuts down the power, and uh...then you take out the guards?"

"No! Idiot! How can I take out the guards if we aren't inside? After Elec Man does his thing, you make an entrance for us busting through the wall, and then I take out the guards on the top floor."

Guts Man & Cuts Man move a few steps back, and Elec Man starts to charge up. Honestly, of all the robots at Wily's disposal he sends these three? Elec Man, fine...but Guts Man and Cuts Man? Ah well, time to thwart their plans.

I take out my flute. I like to make an entrance. Also, these knuckleheads have heard my little song enough times to know that it means I'm nearby. Strike a bit of fear into them, knowing that the big, bad Proto Man is about to hand them their circuits. Soon as they are caught off guard, I'll strike.

[YT]j8ml9C-92js[/YT]

"That song!"

"It's Proto Man! Quick, Elec Man, shut down the power before he--"

"Too late!"

I dash down the water tower, striking with my Proto Shield and dig it in, as I skid downward the water bursts from the tower and cascades to the other rooftop. Elec Man, Cuts Man, & Guts Man, like the idiots they are, instantly get fried since Elec Man was charging up his electricity. By the time I land on the roof they are on, they are still recovering from the shock I just gave them.

"Doesn't Dr. Wily have three other robots he could've relied on that might've actually have been able to pull off such a simple task? What, were Crash Man, Quick Man, & Bright Man all malfunctioning or something?"

Guts Man is the first to get out of the daze he was in. Immediately he comes out at me, and I so easily flip over him, and grab him by the head and toss him aside. Big guy falls hard, hm? As he's watching the itty bitty Beats that he's probably seeing as he hallucinates I reach down my hand and touch his forehead. Seconds later I've copied his circuitry and have obtained his powers.

Standing tall, with my Proto Shield in hand and my hand transforming into my Proto Buster, I look at Elec Man and Cuts Man who know what comes next.

"Time to show you guys how powerful Guts Man could actually be had he a brain!"

Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype boards?:
Yes

I haven't put much time into this RPG, sorry, since I've had so much focus on ideas and plans with DC and CAH but...could someone give me the jist of all the big things happening? Was hoping to perhaps get in on a multi-PC arc somehow.

So I'm interested in getting back into the game, but I've got a request:

I really hate the big storyline I started in New York with the Turtles. Anyway I can do a retcon and get it out? I really, really hate it. Haha.

**** it and go ahead and do it. Wieg and I are really the only two who post anymore. Retcon the **** outta it.

**** it and go ahead and do it. Wieg and I are really the only two who post anymore. Retcon the **** outta it.

Sweet, I'm basically going to wipe it off the map.

I'll also apply for another character. I really don't wanna see this game die.

Here's my first app, I'll have another one up tonight or tomorrow.

From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: Carnage27

Character you'd like to portray: Leonardo

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Leonardo and his brothers are mutated turtles, each possessing super human agility, stamina, and slight super-human strength.

They have also been trained by their "father" Splinter in the ways of the ninja. Each are master hand-to-hand combatants.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from Mirage Studios

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it):
After witnessing his master, Hamato Yoshi, cut down in cold blood by the assassin Oroku Saki, Splinter, a common rat, escaped into the New York Streets. While wondering the sewers Splinter came in contact with a glowing, green ooze, which transformed him. The ooze caused him to grow into a human-sized rat, with the intelligence to match. Splinter found another canister of the ooze nearby, and kept it in order to guard his secrets.

Splinter used this transformation and the knowledge of ninjitsu he gained from his master and became an active vigilante operating in New York. That is until “the Purge.”

While heroes and villains were being killed, Splinter went into hiding in the city sewers, biding his time.

Three years after “the Purge” ended, Splinter saw a surface world that was broken and ravaged by sorrow. The weak and the innocent were preyed upon by those who would use the people’s pain for their own twisted gains.

Splinter scoured the city to find something, anything that he could use to form a new breed of hero, and he found it in the form of four baby turtles which had found their way into the sewers. Splinter gathered them up and exposed them to the same ooze that had created him. As he suspected they also began to grow, even larger than he did.

When they were old enough and strong enough to learn martial arts, Splinter began their training. He intended them to become champions of the weak and protectors of those that could not defend themselves.

Leonardo, the eldest brother, was to be the leader. Splinter instilled in the boy a strong sense of right and wrong. He was instructed in the use of the katana, and mastered the two handed form.

The Turtles have been in hiding the past few months after a city-wide hunt for them was instituted after the death of police commissioner Sterns.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero

List a few reasons why you chose this character: I love the Turtles, and I really enjoy writing Leo.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: A player.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As many as my school work allows.

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

I slam my fist into the punching bag again and again in the training dojo of our subterranean home. The past two months of hiding have driven my brothers and I almost to blows against each other. But there's nothing for us to do. We have been branded public enemy number one after the murder of New York's police commissioner.

I hear a rustle come from behind me, and turn to find Master Splinter, "Leonardo, you do not need to stay here. You are needed on the outside."

I shake my head, "Those that we are trying to help see us as monsters, murderers. What's the point?"

"Because, my son, they need you. They may fear you now, but being present will eventually give them hope for the future."

Hmm. **** someone in the ass and good things happen. I'll make a note of that.
