Plan on playing VD Man?

From The Pages Of... RPG APPLICATION

Screen Name: Carnage27

Character you'd like to portray: V

Superhuman powers, traits, other attributes of interest: Those that have come up against V and survived, however, have claimed he has super human strength, agility, and dexterity, along with an increased tolerance for pain. These are all most likely due to the experiments he was put through while at Larkhill.

The man known as V is also a tactical and philosophical genius. He is incredibly skilled in computer hacking and explosives, and often uses them in his anarchistic plans. He is also a skilled hand to hand fighter, and often uses daggers.

Originally appearing from (which comic, and company?): V for Vendetta,Vertigo

Fictional history of the character (as you're going to interpret it): V’s true name and identity have been long lost, buried beneath trails of red tape, Norsefire cover ups, and his own actions.

After the Purge, Norsefire, a radical fascist regime took control of Great Britain, promising a safe and secure country. The British Isles were shut off from the outside world, and to many of its inhabitants seemed a safer, secure place.

But the security Norsefire and it’s leader Adam Susan provided was covered in the blood of many Brits. Jews, Muslins, political leftists, and other so called “enemies of the state” were sent to concentration camps. Many were killed or experimented on.

V was an inhabitant of one such camp, Larkhill Resettlement Camp. It was run by a Norsefire scientist Dr. Delia Surridge, who performed tests on the citizens in order to create super soldiers for Norsefire.

The project failed to produce any positive results, save for one: V. But V was not going to allow the atrocities of Larkhill be heaped onto anyone else. He rebelled, destroying the facility in a great fire, and killed the majority of the staff.

Since that day, V has become anarchy incarnate in England, dedicated to bringing down the regime of oppression. He has adopted the face of Guy Fawkes, the conspirator of the gunpowder plot to blow up parliament, and wears a mask of his face during his escapades.

Hero, Villain, or Walking the line?: Hero or Walking the Line, I’m not sure.

List a few reasons why you chose this character: V is such an interesting character. He’s a terrorist, but you root for him. You want him to succeed, even though his plots and actions are fairly reprehensible.

Write two complete sentences explaining what you can bring to this RPG: A player who is ready to bring some life back into the game.

How many days a week you intend on posting in the RPG: As many as possible

Please provide a small sample post as your character, at least three paragraphs and one line of dialogue in length:

“Strength through Unity. Unity through Faith,” the speaker above quietly echoes in the night as an old-looking man shuffles down the London street. The brim of his hat hides his face from the moonlight, and a long silver beard pokes out from the shadow.

He hears a pair of footsteps approach from behind, and turns to find two “Fingermen”, the police of modern day England. One places his hand on the man’s shoulder, “Sir, you know you aren’t supposed to be out at night. It’s mighty dangerous out here.”

“Oh, I think I’ll be quite alright, my man,” he answers. “I can handle myself.”

“Sir,” the second one says yanking at the man’s coat, “we insist.”

“I’m sure you do,” the man smiles before spinning and pushing the others back. Instinctively, the reach for their nightsticks, but before they are unfastened from their belt, their throats are slit by two daggers that twirl in the man’s hands like ballerinas.

Before he stalks off into the night, he produces a can of spray paint from his belt and defaces a government poster above the dead men.

Do you know how to post pictures on the Hype boards?: Yes

You know what happens when you assume? You're usually correct on said assumption, that's what.

Anyone is welcome to use V's speech in a response.

I'd love to see Chuck and Casey's responses to it.

Chuck and Casey are going to be too busy in Jamaica getting stoned and laid.

Hmm...I'm trying to figure out how the tyrannical government in V can coexist with the rest of the world. One of the reasons the government was so capable of suppressing everything in the book is because the rest of the world was gone.

This looks like a job for the A-Team! :awesome:

I can't see Casey getting stoned, and I can't see Chuck ever getting laid.:oldrazz:

BTW, This season of Chuck has been amazing.

Oh, come one. Chuck's gotten laid. When Jill came back, he got some.

And Casey wouldn't get stoned...on purpose. ;) Although I bet he'd happily drink himself into mindlessness.

This actually brings a whole new depth to the Dr. No story. Bond and M are agents of Norsefire!

I'm kinda going for that during the Purge and it's chaos, there was a quick coup d'eta, and basically the people went with it to ensure safety.

Ah, I forgot about Jill. And yes, indeed, Casey would definitely go on a tequila bender.

He'd be a scary blackout drunk.:awesome:

Actually, since you've used M and basically said she was going over the heads of her superiors, I was going to have her and Bond as very anti-Norsefire.

Who's ready for a super-secret, nefarious group of super-villains!?

:awesome:

Hey, Byrd, just because I'm starting to put things into motion that I won't be able to turn back, I want to make sure I have clearance for them.

Did you have any plans for using Professor Moriarty with Holmes?

No plans with Moriarty that involve the present. Some stuff regarding him, Holmes, and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but nothing major. If you can figure out a way to explain why he's still alive in 2010, go for it

Okay, cool.

I'm interested to see what you do with the League, because I plan on bringing them up at some point as well.

After watching a few Chuck episodes last night, I've decided that somehow, some way, I must get Captain Awesome and Michelangelo to meet.

So, question.

I want to use a character for my Turtles arc, who has never actually appeared in a comic to my knowledge, but the universe he inhabits has been.

Can I use them?

Considering Wieg and I play half of NBC's 2008 fall lineup, I'd say there isn't a problem with it.

Glorious news!

You can stream the A-Team from Netflix. :D

*reveals in the glorious campy nostalgia*
