Frozen 2

I wonder if they will be able to make a song as big and successful as Let It Go/Build a Snowman.

There was an issue of the Incredible Hulk where there was a Snow Queen-type of villain. Banner was wondering why all of her sculptures had faces full of terror. Then later on she revealed that it wasn't that she sculpted them using tools, but that her hands were her tools and that she turned everyone into ice sculptures.

Maybe we'll get an evil Snow Queen who'll do battle with Elsa one day.

I'd say that's almost impossible when they're specifically trying hard to do that. For the first film, there was no expectations of the songs other than just being of a good standard. Now they can't be just good. Although they have had 6 years to try lots of different things and scrap them where necessary.

Even Mary Poppins Returns couldn't match any of the songs from the original film.

I'm not sure if MPR even tried tbh.

You can't really write a song like Let It Go. A song like that is lightning in a bottle. If you go in trying to write that type of sone you will fail.

Hence why these movies rarely have sequels.

I mean, the Disney Renaissance did happen. I'm not betting on it, but I doubt any song will catch on like Let it Go.

I think I can speak for all parents of small children when I say: No, no we do not need another "catchy" song like Let It Go. Make it stop. :funny:

I mean, "Let It Go" itself was just a "Defying Gravity" knock-off, so anything's possible. ;)

I like “How Far I’ll go” more even though it’s pretty much the same song.

As far songs from Frozen, I prefer “For the first time”.

Well the theme of it but not the melody. They can't really repeat that theme now anyway.

Wonder Woman could've sung "How Far I'll Go" and it would've fitted with her movie.

Disney moved up the release date from pre-Thanksgiving Wednesday to the Friday before. I think it will come close to Incredibles 2 o.w. numbers (if not exceed it) and then exceed $210 million by Thanksgiving.

Oooh, interesting. You know despite having to compete with midterms for the youngest set, I still think it then has a shot at $200 million OW. Certainly now well north of $150 million. Yeah, this'll be a monster until Star Wars comes out.

"Want to Build a Snowman?" and "For the First Time in Forever," yes. Those are great songs that are beloved by those who have and are growing up with them. But "Let It Go" was everywhere. I mean Disney will find something (all of their Renaissance movies had THE song). But to actually seep into the culture like that? Who knows. It's kind of alchemy.

And comparisons to Mary Poppins Returns is interesting. However, I have faith in Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez way more than the team behind MPR in coming up with something that at least clicks the way Moana's music did (which was also no "Let It Go," but certainly more memorable than MPR).

They could probably match all of the other Disney songs, but I doubt they could have another "Let it Go". How many popular songs by other artists or from other films have even done that?

The thing that annoys me the most about that song it that's overshadowed a bunch of other really good music from Rapunzel and Moana.

I like Moana, but there were only really a couple songs in that film that were particularly memorable IMHO. I'd say Frozen easily had the better soundtrack.

Yeah, I think between Frozen, Moana, and Tangled, Frozen easily has the best soundtrack while Tangled has the worst.

I wouldn't say Tangled had the worst. It's not like the songs were bad at all. They had "When will my life begin", "Mother knows best", "I see the light" and "I've got a dream".

I don't even remember the songs from Moana. Tangled has better songs!

"How Far I'll Go" and "You're welcome". Don't remember anything else other than those two.

Agree that Tangled's songs are better than Moana's. I'd actually say Tangled's songs are on par with Frozen, but obviously Frozen has "Let it Go", which is bigger than any other song in any other Disney film.

I actually prefer the songs of Tangled especially I prefer the singing voice of Mandy Moore Than Idina (the singing voice of Elsa). Let it Go is a bit overplayed imo, and the only other song that I ended up singing is the Build a Snowman. I also think the animation of Frozen 1 was lackluster especially compare to Tangled.

'I Had a Dream' is classic 90's Disney music. Would not have been out of place in something like Beauty and the Beast.

I actually prefer Demi Lovato's version of "Let it Go" from the end credits than Idina Menzel's version. That's the one I normally listen to. I'm not such a big fan of Idina's voice, and it sounds older than Elsa's character. Also, Idina does the speaking voice for Elsa as well I believe, not just the singing.

I also prefer Mandy Moore's voice to Idina's as well.

There was also “We know the way” from Moana I think that’s the name of it
