Frozen 2

I'm talking about the quality of their films more than anything (not the box-office).

Even critically they're pretty inconsistent compared with Disney or Pixar. Maybe cause they produce way too many films the quality lags in some.

Dreamworks' slate of films are kinda weird. Yeah, inconsistent. Home wasn't well received. 'Penguins' came and went...a movie that I can barely remember by the way!

Maybe Elsa will have to use her powers to defend her kingdom this time round. What if there's someone else with powers that she has to fight? Either another character with ice powers, or someone with fire powers.

I've thought of this scenario, too.

Yeah i thought about having a new character with a fire power.

The new area for Tokyo DisneySea Park will be the parks 8th port and will be based on Scandinavia with a specific section themed to Disney’s movie Frozen.

You can bet they'll be putting the same thing into the US Disney parks.

It's pretty certainly not happening at Disneyland, they don't have that kind of space, and Disney World we already know where the Frozen stuff will be and what it will include so I don't really see how they could. Tokyo's is operated by a different company anyway, one that has a reputation of going beyond what Disney itself does in their parks.

For a moment there, I read Dark Raven as Raven X (or was it X Raven?) and thought you were replying to yourself. :funny:

y'know......back when I had both personas open at the same time, and before I acknowledged I was both, that's one thing I always made sure I didn't do. I never quoted or replied to myself using the other persona.

That would have been.......too weird.......lol.

that being said, I do kind of miss my Raven X persona.........a bit......:(

Pretty much the moment Frozen opened in 2013, fans began wondering about a sequel. And earlier this year, Disney finally announced development on Frozen 2. Now the question is what we’ll see in the follow-up, and while it’ll be some time before we get all the answers, directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee have started dropping a few hints.

Among other things, they suggest we’ll see a different side of Elsa, who underwent quite an intense emotional arc in the first Frozen. Get the Frozen 2 details after the jump.

Elsa began the first Frozen as a carefree child before fear of her own powers made her timid, isolated, and angry. But by the end she’s come to embrace her abilities and mend her relationship with Anna. In the followup short Frozen Fever, she got to be a more playful, doting sister (albeit one with a severe head cold).

Speaking to Fandango, Buck revealed Elsa will continue to show off her sunny side in Frozen 2.

"[In Frozen] she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she’s just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again. That’s what was really good about the short [Frozen Fever] – we could have fun with Elsa. And that personality … you will see in the next one."

Rest assured that while we’ll be seeing Elsa in a different light, we’ll also see much more of Anna as well. In a separate conversation with MTV News, Buck promised that both sisters, and their tight bond, will be at the center of the next film.

"We have two very strong female leads in Frozen. We will keep that going in the next one. We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with."

"I think we’re very aware of what is happening in society. I don’t think any of us take [them] lightly, even though they can be very funny and entertaining, the messages that our movies have and the influence they can have on young people. When the kids [watch] them, they watch them over and over again, and if we don’t have a decent message in there, I think we’ve missed an opportunity."

That last part is pretty vague, but it sounds like Frozen 2 will aim to maintain the emotional depth that made the first one such a hit — even if Elsa’s a bit cheerier this time around. Frozen 2 does not yet have a release date.

Cool and all, but bring on Wreck-It Ralph 2.0. :cmad:

I know some people are very apprehensive over this getting a sequel (I'm not one of them, btw), but I think I know where they COULD go with this:

We know Elsa was born with these powers, but we don't know if its just magic or if there's something more to all of this. If it was just magic, Anna would've been born with similar abilities, and we know she wasn't. So why Elsa? The true nature of her powers and her potential destiny is something worth exploring, possibly through the introduction of a new character with similar powers.

Which brings me to another idea they could do for casting. I've noticed a lot of people on the internet like to pair Elsa up with Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians. While I 100% don't think Dreamworks will allow such a crossover to happen, I think I WOULD be cool if Disney casts Chris Pine or someone like him for the role of this new character with similar powers to Elsa (doesn't have to be snow or ice related, btw). That could really show that Elsa's not alone in this regard and could raise some interesting questions as to her heritage and other matters.

Thoughts?

They explained it on "Once Upon a Time" on ABC last year - Elsa's aunt was the Snow Queen from the classic story, so the powers apparently run in her family. I would suppose that's canon since Disney's involved with OUaT.

Not necessarily canon since the show's Beast (from Beauty and the Beast) is Rumpelstiltskin.

Once Upon a Time took things from the Frozen movie but they exists in a different universe.

I don't know if I really want a sequel. The first while good is a bit overrated outside of "Let it go." I still role my eyes when people say this is just as good as lion king or better.

Yeah it was a bit overrated. I don't think its better than Aladdin, Mulan, The Lion King, Cinderella, Tangled, The Little Mermaid to name a few. Then animation wise, not as good as Tangled's animation, that movie's animation looked really beautiful.

I find it better then the Lion King, but I never found the Lion King in at Pixar level, and thought it was never the best of the big 4 from the Disney Renaissance films. There is Beauty and the Beast, and then the other three in which ever order you like. Frozen isn't Inside Out, The Incredibles, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story, The Lego Movie or How to Train Your Dragon, but neither is The Lion King.

Beauty and the Beast is probably the greatest Disney film. Yes there's bias. :p

I'd like for them to go into what the state of magic is in this universe. Because, when Elsa reveals herself in the first film, they're surprised. However, they don't act surprised that this kind of magic exists, merely that Elsa has it. The Duke even calls it "sorcery," which implies previous knowledge of it's existence.

Maybe Elsa makes her Queendom a save haven for the "outcasts" of society or something, which causes tnedion with other nations.

Oh and yes, BATB is my favorite animated Disney movie as well.

I think it's very overrated. It doesn't suck or anything but I thought Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph were much better movies.

Tangled, no. Wreck-It-Ralph, maybe. Tangled's a funnier movie, but that's about it (and I say that as someone who likes Tangled a lot).
