Frozen 2

It's an animated movie. Star power is almost meaningless. Do you think kids know who Idina Menzel is or do they care about Elsa?
I agree, but I otherwise don't see what Disney was nervous about. Despite naming Coco after a mostly inconsequential character who's barely in the movie. They could've just named it Remember Me and it'd make more sense.

As a brown person who grew up around his Spanish speaking family, I think it is fairly obvious what the super white company known as Disney was worried about. Especially in Trump's America.

Also did you really just call Coco the mostly inconsequential character? Did you watch Coco?

It'll make its money, no questions there.

Sounds like they tried to go a little more complex with the story.

I feel sorry for every parent over the next couple of weeks, lol.

Do they plant seeds for Frozen 3?
Even after reading the leaked ending spoilers, I... can't really say. Jennifer Lee said this and the first Frozen were one complete story, so she could just intend to end the story here. That being said, the ending does change some stuff up which theoretically could be continued in a sequel.

Hopefully, I will like it so much that I
Will desire a second sequel.

After listening to the soundtrack, i must say, i love the songs, but... There are about 5 or 6 of them total and 3 of them are basically empowerment songs, with troubles and obstacles that will be met with resilience and strenght and build up into a crescendo until reaching its end on an anthemic high. Its a bit too much. Like "Did you like Let it Go? Here, three more!". Sometimes i wonder if they were trying for a gym mix tape by mistake...

They are probably trying to replicate the success of Let It Go, which is next to impossible.

I expected them to try to replicate it ONCE, not three times. There are basicaly three epiphanies in bombastic orchestral arrangements in this thing, for Pete´s sake... :loco: :funny:

They are good songs tough. Lets see how they work in context, but i am a bit worried.

The fact that one of the other songs only needs sintethyzers to feel like a genuine 80s ballad makes the whole thing feel like POWEBALLAD: THE MOVIE. :funny:

It's hard enough capturing lightning in a bottle once, let alone 3 times.

Most of the times, lighting just enters your bottle while working hard. If you are trying to willingly capture it, you end up with rain water.

Indeed. Luck sometimes plays a huge part in generating a hit song.

They really hit the jackpot with "Let It Go", and they should know by now that you really can't do that twice. Just write the songs the story needs. Most songwriters will tell you that you can't consciously write a hit. They just happen.

Disney is addicted to the thrill of making billions and you know how addictions can affect our decision making!

There is one Let it Go "clone", that is Into the Unknown.

All three are Let it Go clones. Into... is just the one where Idina screams the most, or, you know, she is the one singing.

But all three are big epiphanic songs about facing something, ending up in self afirmation and displays of strenght. And in that sense, they are all very much Let it Go clones... or brothers at least. Into... is just the most obvious one formally.
