Full DC june 2009 Solicitations

Does Justice really need to be Absoluted?

I'd say so. Any contained story with that great of art is going to sell a **** ton so they might as well.

I always hate that Young Liars is so low on the list, it always worries me when it takes so long to see it since I know it's on borrowed time:(

Anyway, Batman is probably in for a drop, not a Winick fan.

I may try Batman & Robin even though I can't really say I have a lot of interest in it, but I'll give Morrison a shot and see where it flies since I know it's all going to be so temporary anyway.

I like Rucka. I like lesbians. So I'll probably stick with Detective.

I may check out Streets Of Gotham and Sirens, too. Not really a fan of Siren's art, though.

New Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash series? Ah, hell yeah. 32 pgs and a $3.99 price tag? Ah, hell nah:(

I try so hard to care about the Superbooks, but I just can't find the will within to do so unfortunately.

Madame Xanadu, yay.

Guess that's it for me

i think i'll check out streets of gotham. not really interested in sirens. maybe red robin, depending on who's behind the mask (im hoping for tim). mcduffie off JLA? hellz yeah!

Lets meet up at the motor city comic con in white hoods and bash him for his JLA run :hehe:

I'm getting:

BATMAN AND ROBIN #1
As a big fan of this teams take on the Superman mythos, I'm really looking forward to this series.
BATMAN #687
I don't hate Winick, so I'll give this a try if only to see the new Batman in action.
RED ROBIN #1
I wasn't originally interested in this, but the concept seems interesting. Not sure who RR is, but I'm guessing Tim.
SUPERMAN #689
Thinkin of picking up this series, not sure why really, but Mon-el seems like he has potential, and Robinson is a good writer.
THE FLASH: REBIRTH #3
This series should be awesome.
BOOSTER GOLD #21
Picked up a random issue of this in a dollar bin and I'm sold! Need to get the back issues, but I would like to start picking this up.

Winick writes a damn good Batman. So I think he's worth checking out at least and hope he doesn't screw up since he's not writing Bruce Wayne.

1. Detective Comics - picking this up because I'm a big Rucka fan, and the art looks great.
2. Green Lantern - can't wait to see The Blackest Night.
3. Secret Six - was ambivalent about continuing with this book, but the return of Artemis will keep me for at least the rest of that story.
4. Wonder Woman - the longest arc of the series concludes, with another rather vague solicit.

On the fence:

5. Booster Gold - fun enough series, but never been interested in Blue Beetle; I may give one of Dini's new series a try instead.

Trade-waiting for the various Fables books, House of Mystery, and Madame Xanadu.

I'll definately check Batman & Robin, Morisson and Quitely? Hell yeah!!

I'll check out Winnick's Batman, but all depends on the man behind the cowl. Dick Grayson, OK but I'm not interested in Jason Todd or Hush as Batman. We'll see.

I doubt McDuffie is off JLA. Wein did a little fill in arc for McDuffie during the Faces of Evil/Origins & Omens arc.

anyone interested in detective comics starring batwoman?

I am I like Batwoman. the big question in my head is where is the Batgirl solicit?

IMO the bat solicits have officially confirmed
Red Robin= Tim Drake
and the most likely candidates for new Robin and Batman.
Robin= Damian Wayne
Batman= Dick Grayson

5. Booster Gold - fun enough series, but never been interested in Blue Beetle; I may give one of Dini's new series a try instead.
You're gonna drop the series because they're adding an extra story that doesn't interfere with the main story to it?

Anyway, thoughts:

Superman: World of New Krypton: Where will Hal Jordan punch someone in the face next?! :)

Booster Gold: I guess the new Batman hasn't pieced together what Booster's actually doing like the real Batman did. Should be interesting.

GLC: I'm sort of sad the Daxamite story will last so long. Maybe it'll get better.

JSA: Really not a fan of Ordway. I am, however, interested in seeing Cris Allen meet the JSA. This issue'll probably determine whether I continue picking up the Ordway issues or if I just skip them until Willingham and Sturges start.

JSA vs. Kobra: I'll probably pick this up.

Secret Six: Yay, that well-to-do chick in the dress is going to stay with the team! I like her. :)

Solomon Grundy: I don't plan on reading this series, but the cover makes me fear for Alan Scott. The guy can't catch a break lately.

Madame Xanadu: I'm sad that Amy Reeder Hadley won't be drawing. Her art is really lovely. Kaluta's pretty good if the cover is any indication, though. I just hope Hadley comes back.

Kind of crappy that that Batman family statue has Huntress and Batwoman but no Oracle or Batgirl.

You don't like the Daxam/Prison Break shenanigans? I find it a bit more interesting than the whole Kryb thing last arc, which was glorious in its own way.

Hadley has really been making the Mdm Xanadu seres what it is, but I find that she makes the protagonist almost too pretty and babyfaced. I know that the character is eternally youthful, but I don't think she's supposed to be Sailor Moon. I have a hard time thinking of her as anything other than a flustered, petulant little teenage girl with that mug, when she's supposed to be all wise and mystical and stuff.

I think it's more a problem with the format of GLC than anything else. I don't hate the current arc or anything, but it feels like the series is dragging its feet to me. Even with the Kryb story, I started feeling that way. I think it's just because the arcs have been getting longer since SCW. I miss the shorter, 2- to 3-issue arcs we got before that. It gave the series a real police force feel, where things are happening a mile a minute and you never get a chance to breathe 'cause there's always innocents to protect and bad guys to collar. Now, the arcs have slowed down considerably. Again, not bad, just different in a way that makes me miss the earlier status quo.

I see where you're coming from with Nimue's face, but it doesn't bother me. Hadley makes her so expressive that the relatively simple features of her face become a pro rather than a con to me. If I had to have a problem with Hadley's art, actually, it'd be your same complaint but aimed at the Phantom Stranger, who looks way too boy-bandish to me. If we got a Madame Xanadu movie tomorrow, Zac Efron could play the Phantom Stranger and it'd be pretty faithful to the comic's portrayal.

Hey now, you can say what you want about the Xanadu series, but don't be dishing The Moon. You're free to blow away at everything else, but not The Moon. Not Moon

I thought Absolutes were reserved for like Universe altering events and fantastic stories!

Hey hey, no one is down with Usagi like I'm down with Usagi. I'm just saying, she's totaloli jailbait.

...What are we talking about again?

At last, the answer to the question that’s plagued DC fans for decades: Who’s faster, Superman or The Flash?
Haven't we known that the Flash is faster for some time now?

We've known that Wally is faster. If Barry has ever proven himself faster than Clark, that would've had to have happened...pre-Crisis.

Heh.

Okay, I know I only clicked "submit" once.
