Animation Futurama Thread

That was already contradicted in Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles when he was reverting into a small robot.

Did they ever visit Hermis's workplace in the show before? Because I had a major case of deja vu.

Yeah there were some familiar faces when they went back. You could see the floating ball inspector, you could see the really slow moving air scooters, etc.

Did anyone notice the old man in the big line? It was the same guy from the episode with that lady who had an affair with Fry! He was getting his birth certificate in that episode, but this time, he was getting his death certificate!

Best episode of the new season tonight. The time travel humor, including references to old episodes, was fantastic, and it played the sentimental card even better than the end of last week's episode.

Definitely another great and fun Episode. Couldn't stop laughing after the Professor's shoot out the window comment. :funny:

HAHA I loved the music. In the year 252525...HAHAHAHAHA.

Last night was beyond epic.

"Tonight I won't through up..on you"

"Damn, I hit Eleanor Roosevelt!"

pure win.

Great episode that shows once again why Futurama is better than South Park, Family Guy, or any of them. Its got heart.

Damn...we don't get the new episode in Canada!!!

Loved the episode. The Professor's tongue lashing towards Fry for screwing his own Grandma had me on the floor! Gotta say I saw that ending coming a mile away though, but what I didnt see coming was them over shooting the date and having to go all the way through time again had me on the floor then "Oh it seems that this universe is 10ft lower than our universe!" hahahaha so awesome

That last episode (which I literally just finished watching) was great..

I can't believe how seamless this transition has been in continuing the series...So far it's doing a better job at being consistent over when Family Guy returned from cancellation.

I finally started getting caught up with Futurama on Netflix last week. I had only seen a couple episodes of the show before and I really liked them, but I just hadn't gotten around to watching the whole show from start to finish. Now that it's all availible for streaming I am HOOKED! I'm already into volume 4 and I love the series so far. Out of all the animated shows I've seen that at one point or another were on Fox I think it's easily the best. In terms of animated comedies I'd put this right up there with Robot Chicken and above South Park. I mean, don't get me wrong, South Park is a very smart and funny show, but as Matt said Futurama has heart. It manages to be funny pretty darned consistently, and at the same time it still manages to fit some genuine emotional content in from time to time. Even though it's a comedy cartoon it is still able to make me feel connected with the characters, which I think is a pretty darned good accomplishment for any animated show, comedy or otherwise.

Yeah it's incedibly seemless. It's like they never left. They must of kept the writers somehow.

hey have you guys seen these? Spidey-Dude posted them in the fan art forum. It really makes me wish they make a live action movie.

No.

**** no.

A million times, no.

I will never understand why people think making a live action version of a cartoon is a good idea.

Aw c'mon... At some point or another everyone wonders what their favorite cartoon characters would look like in real life. :awesome:

But I don't mean in this way :

Leela seems to be the most difficult to interpret "realistically" out of all of Futurama's characters, though, that's for sure. The fact that they can make a character with one eye work as a 2D cartoon without coming across as creepy is quite laudable on its own. Making it work in "real life" would be quite a bit more difficult. Most attempts I've seen at a "realistic" Leela seem to have here eye too high above her nose which looks all kinds of freaky, and then there's the whole eyebrow problem to deal with. CG makeup has come a long way, but has it come far enough that they can make a woman look like a cyclops and still be attractive? It would be a challenge, that's for sure.

Loved the time travel episode. Clearly the best so far. There were some parts I couldn't stop laughing at. I loved how everything came together like the card going out the window and seeing bits of past episodes when they were going forward. And every damn time the Proffesor fell over I was laughing my head off, it never got old.
