Animation Futurama Thread

Nothing, they are quite good. They are just being jerks. They are extremely faithful to the look of the characters and I can see the actors represented playing the parts well.

Aw c'mon... At some point or another everyone wonders what their favorite cartoon characters would look like in real life. :awesome:

Not me.

What works well in animation never, ever translates well into live action.

It's like... a couple of months ago there was this thread about people desperately wanting a live action Samurai Jack movie. I'm like, "Are you people ****ing insane?? 90% of what makes Samurai Jack awesome and unique would be totally and completely lost in a live action format." And I think the same goes for damn near any cartoon.

This is Fry.

No actor would ever be able to recreate what Billy West and the writers and animators have created with that character.

Making a cartoon into live action is one of the most pointless creative endeavors I can imagine.

I get what you're say Soapy but in my opinion live action adaptions of cartoons based on human characters are the ones that work. I actually enjoyed the live action Flintstones, Speed Racer, GI Joe and even Transformers. But then again there was also Mr. Magoo and Inspector Gadget.

The ones that suck are the ones with animals made into cgi like Garfield and from what I've seen in Yogi Bear.

My thoughts exactly. Also, me and my family love the Popeye movie with Robin Williams.

I know what you mean man, its just a bit of fun though, i enjoy using photoshop and used to do alot of comics to film stuff but i lost my motivation so I decided to do futurama with an ex shh member as we both love the show, and its alot of fun - im not sure if id want to see it done as a movie as im sure it would get butchered, but for me its fun to fantasise and doing stuff like that on photoshop is a bit of a hobby

cheers mate, they are fun to do and im happy with them, didnt expect such harsh comments from the others though

Wow, did they really copy a plot twist from Dead Silence?

Oh, and if anyone wants to cry tonight, "Jurassic Bark" is on.

I first off would never admit that I watched that and secondly...human puppets have never been done before Dead Silence:huh:

"The horse says: Doctorate denied!"

:funny:

I will never watch that episode ever again.

I think I've only ever seen "Jurassic Bark" three times, nothing compared to the number of times I've seen most episodes. That ending is brutal. Perfectly executed, but brutal.

^Indeed.

How has no one posted about last night's episode? I thought it was fantastic.

Hermes: "I found something.... oh it's just another one of Fry's dogs."
Fry: "What?"
Hermes: "Nothing"

Best part of the episode.

I can watch it now after the first "movie" knowing that he spent his life with fry

Eh, I thought the recent one was pretty weak. Too much time spent mocking Creationism with predictable and not-exactly-new jokes when more time should've been spent on the evolving robot society, and the jokes there weren't very clever either. Farnsworth's pants gag was just irritating, it would've been funnier if they hadn't of fallen at all.

I dunno, I thought that it was done pretty well when it came around full circle, and Farnsworth's robot evolution actually proved Creationism at the same time. What could easily have been a Creationism bash episode turned into a "There's a little bit of truth to both" episode, which I thought was rather well done.

I thought it was well done too, didn't feel like they were getting a message across, but, as The Simpsons and Futurama usually do, looking at both sides in their satirical way.

I laughed so hard when the Professor said that, as I've muttered it to myself many a time. :funny:

Fry and Leela having sex as Zoidberg and Farnsworth was hilariously disgusting.

I've missed the past two episodes. I think the last one I saw was the one with the cats. Where can I catch up?
