Animation Futurama Thread

And not many other series have the capability of doing so without making the audience go WTF? because that makes no sense in their universe.

Few series involve time travel in any way, shape or form to permit it. So when another has the chance to do their own spin on it I won't judge them too harshly.

Ehh in a broad strokes way. Time loop, living till old age only to reset everything. Pretty damn close ripoff. No other show has had that kind of finale other than SG1.
It's a cartoon breh.

I'm not saying it like its a bad thing they did it. It's just obvious where they got the idea. I really enjoyed the finale. It really captured the true essence of the show. I was merely pointing out how unbelievable it was to me that nobody else had mentioned it yet

It is because no one really cares about Stargate. :oldrazz:

 I. AM. GOING. TO. SLAP. SO. MANY. FACES.

been re-watching Futurama this past week

that show was so downright hilarious. anyone know if former Simpsons writers worked on that show?

it kind of makes sense if they did because when Futurama started back in 1999, it is precisely when the Simpsons started going down in quality

Futurama has remained constantly good, even when coming back from hiatus/cancellation. while the Simpsons, well you know...

Steve Moore who directed Wreck-It Ralph worked on it for most of the run, and also some of the Simpsons early stuff.

This was at one time my favorite show, but I have seen them end this show a bunch of times. At this point, I think let the sleeping dog lie. But in this age of streaming, we will probably see every once popular show ever get new seasons

The first run was near perfect. Later stuff had its moments but felt like it had lost something. A kind of 'careful what you wish for' situation, because the show is probably less regarded now than if it had remained cancelled, and I don't know of anyone desperate for more these days. Hell, Rick and Morty does a very similar type of humour, and to me feels like a spiritual successor in many ways. Futurama now might seem a bit like tamer Rick and Morty.

All that said, I do like Futurama. I'll hope for the best and give it a chance if I hear good things. Calculon is one of my favourite characters, so I'm always up for more of his supreme acting talent.

Apparently John DiMaggio might not come back. You might as well just scrap the whole thing if he's not returning as Bender.

‘Futurama’ Revived On Hulu; John DiMaggio Not Returning As Bender – Deadline

I only watched the first couple of episodes when it was revived on Comedy Central but I never got into it like I did with the original seasons. This could end up like another Arrested Development where they'd probably had been better off just leaving it be.

If DiMaggio is out then this is boned. I always think it's a play for wage negotions when I see this kind of story though.

Without John DiMaggio as Bender, it just won’t feel authentic.

This series has had more endings than Return of the King, and they want to bring it back?

Why?

Speaking of Bender, not that this matters at all, but isn't he currently in the Simpsons' basement? Not that anyone's going to question whether Simpsorama is canon with Futurama's timeline or whatever.
