FXs new drama - Justified - starring Timothy Olyphant - Part 1

Wasn't SOA always bad? I just don't see anything interesting about bikers. I've always felt the hardcore biker scene is as annoying as guidos.

Anyways, back to this great show.

Raylan's 'new' hat made him sort of look like Indy.

Perfect, absolutely perfect.

Man I was tense throughout this episode never knowing how things would play out. Even a show as spectacular as Justified could have fumbled the ending, it doesn't matter how great a show is, endings are a whole other ball game. A brilliant series from start to finish, something few shows can boast.

Loved Loretta saving Raylan, you know that girl's going to be okay. The showdown was beautiful. The four year time jump threw me at first and that whole scene with Raylan's daughter was so tense because the threat of Boyd returning loomed over everything.

As with The Shield, I'll be praising Justified and it's ending forever.

Regarding Sons of Anarchy, I enjoyed the final season but I did feel they bungled the last few moments by dragging it on too long. Would have been much, much better to end on the shot of [BLACKOUT]Jax with 20+ cop cars behind him, instead of shoving his death in our faces and then the heavy handed symbolism with the blood and crows.[/BLACKOUT]

I'm still digesting it, not sure how I feel about the 4 years flash forward or the fact Raylan had to be apart from Winona and Willa, but I did like Ava's ending and the final scene with Raylan and Boyd was brilliant.

Wow. I literally said the word wow out loud after the final scene...

I wasn't even sure what kind of ending I wanted for this amazing series, but they absolutely nailed it. It could not have been more perfect. Once again, the wonderful dialogue that is written for these talented actors, is what has always made this show outshine most others. Can't believe it's now over.

As with The Shield, I'll be praising Justified and it's ending forever.

Could not agree more!

That final scene... It was, perfect. ****ing perfect. I am going to miss this show so much.

Perfect, just perfect. I will have more to say, but I really need to digest it some more. Loved all the call backs to the first episode. They were well done, as they fit without being obvious nods.

SOA would go from quite good to horrible. They always seem to start and end the seasons well, but the majority was a lot of wandering. Nothing close to the quality of Justified.

Raylan and Winona love each other, but they just can't be together. She is too much of a control freak who freaks, to be with someone like Raylan. Even a mellowed out Raylan.

I was surprised by the Winona development. I thought the entire purpose of Raylan going down there was for them to all be together, not just be there together.

I also loved the symbolism behind Raylan's hat. His old white one was finally ruined after all these years and he became a different man, less angry like he told Winona. Wearing the black hat of the man that nearly killed him gave him closure on his life in Kentucky. That's some real cowboy s**t there.

Loved the finale. I was so worried Raylan was going to die and when they showed that bullet hole in his hat, for a split second I thought he did. Glad it was a mostly happy ending and all three main characters are right where they belong. The final scene with Raylan and Boyd was great. Such a perfect show. Sad to see it end but I'm glad it never suffered a drop off in quality like so many other shows do (and at least for me, that includes The Shield, I'm sad to say). So happy that this one was damn near perfect from start to finish. Who knows? Maybe a few years down the line, we'll see Raylan and Boyd return for a limited series, since reviving old shows is all the rage nowadays.

It wasn't even the hole in the hat that got me. It was the spray of blood that sprayed out behind him when he was shot that made me scream like a little girl. I thought he was gone.

Yeah, that made me worried too. But when I saw the hole I was like "oh sh**."

Yeah you can argue easily that Justified was fairly consistent throughout and never wandered off the rails. Mark of good writing. :)

I do still wonder how a simple scalp shot would have knocked him out like that though....

Why? Dude took a bullet to the head! A graze or not, it's still a bullet in the noggin'. I'm not even sure he was actually knocked out, though. He didn't seem completely out, really. More stunned.

"We dug coal together." Perfect line, perfect scene, perfect ending.

‘Justified’ Series Finale: Showrunner Graham Yost Breaks It All Down

:woot: Not to get anyone's hopes up but...

With Ava, Boyd, and Raylan all alive, you leave the door open for a reunion, a movie, a spin-off? Is that anything you’d consider down the line?
Well, we’ll see. I mean, it’s taken over 20 years for Full House to get another shot on Netflix. So hopefully it doesn’t take us that long. [Laughs]
Yes, we’ve left the door open, and it would all depend on story and appetite. But there was no point in killing these guys off. They didn’t deserve it. Well, Boyd did, but Raylan had to make a different choice.

Among many things I'm going to miss Goggins as Boyd. He was just too damn good in that role. So charming and charismatic.

Im hoping Goggins moves on to another good show. :)

Me too. Maybe he'll stay in the FX family? I'd love to see him on something like The Americans.

He's also going to be in The Hateful Eight and a couple other movies, so at the very least he's getting recognized and rewarded. :)

I wish Boon had been on the show longer. He was such a short character in his brief time on the show.

I didnt see the blood spray. What killed some of the tension of that scene for me was that the confrontation happened halfway through the episode. I didnt think they were going to kill the lead halfway through the finale. But Ill admit when he didnt immediately get up I started thinking they might have actually done it. Pretty sure I didnt breathe until he got up.

"We dug coal together.", made me go "awwwww." Such a sweet moment.

You speak kookoo bananas.

Yeah! He was so much fun I really wish they'd introduced him sooner. Boon was probably a last minute addition because they realized Boyd wasn't going down and Raylan had to showdown with someone.

I noticed the blood spray immediately and it looked like it was chest high. I was relieved when I saw the hole in the hat and figured it grazed Raylan before he popped back up.

Glad to hear Yost kept it open for a reason. I would LOVE to see a stand alone Justified TV movie special in a few years.
