LOL, seriously. Two of the best movies I've seen in the past few months, Out of the Furnace and The Monuments Men, are both certified "rotten" on RT. That site should never be used as a barometer of a movie's quality, unless it's at 4%.

Veteran actors give bad performances.
Non-actors have given good performances in their first attempt.

I'm more worried about the people who only see actors as either terrible or amazing. There's a wide gap in between those two. I'm certain that if she doesn't blow people away with an award nominated performance, people on message boards are still going to be calling for a recast.

There's no way the most aggressive of skeptics about her are going to go see this movie objectively. But that's not specific to her.

It's like the people who thought MOS would be a masterpiece until Zack Snyder showed up.

Don't let prestige cloud judgement, it's really really hard, but for the love of anything good in this world.. don't. It is trite, and ultimately unfair.

As a result of this fallacy, one's okay with relatively mediocre works by "great" directors, and perfectly average (or above average) works by "hacks."

Judge movies on a case by case basis, then look up the director.

Don't say "It's a Zack Snyder movie, it's gonna suck!" (which a significant amount of people did, and still do) or "It's a Chris Nolan produced movie, it will rock!" (MOS and Transcendence, the latter who got an exec credit)

Because then one is only setting oneself for disappointment and delusion, rather than fairness. I think MOS would get SLIGHTLY better treatment had Zack not made Sucker Punch, and Avengers not been made.

Zack's ability to treat movies as standalone (rather than textural) is his greatest strength. I don't want that taken away from him by the insanely vicious haters.

Unlike some directors, he actually cares about the fans, going to comic cons..giving them what he thought they wanted (faithful adaptations, Superman punching)

Gal Gadot is being viewed through the lens of trivial fans..as well as ZS haters. It isn't fair for the poor woman.

I respectfully disagree on the following part.

First I'm not sure if those thoughts are from the majority of the people thought.
I don't think Avengers had anything to do with purists and Donner Fans, comedy plot lovers wanting the same based-on movies,. And I'm thankfull that MOS is not like Avengers. Thanks so much for that didn't happened and we had diverse movies and not all the movies with the same brand. And for the MOS before TA thing. That wouldn't change anything, cause the main thing was the past Superman movies, so... and I think most people on this character JUST ONLY WANT TO COMPLAIN for something, no matter what.
We have something different and it's really great to have movies with different traits make the cbm genre great, more interesting with the diversity. You know Cap 2 is the most serious movie of the MCU and didn't have the same "light-comedy" as TA and it's better than TA for plenty of fans, right?

Judging by this short (which is probably a better gauge than any Fast movie) Gal is a standard TV level actress. She has the technical qualities of acting down pat, and her line delivery is just solid. It doesn't HURT the dialog (which I think is strangely written here, see Youtube for CC) but it doesn't mean it helps it.

But that doesn't mean she won't do a great job as Wonder Woman. She's already better than ScarJo was as Black Widow in IM2, judging by the footage I'm looking at in this weird short.

And yes, a movie that switches from Hebrew to English with a plot outline of a missing older sister is downright strange.

I expected her acting to be worse than what was actually presented in that video, but that doesn't mean it was great either. I had rather low expectations, and I suppose she did exceed them, but that's not necessarily a great compliment. I think that's only the third time I've seen her act, so I don't know what she can actually do yet.

Yea, I feel the same way, I expected it to be bad too but it was fair, I won't really take anything out of it until I see her in this role. I have cautious belief in her at the moment.

I think that will probably be Snyder's main characterization fault. The man has a tendency into falling/drowning into his urges/desires. Don't want to rain on happy times but as much as I have enjoyed most of Snyder's work I know he tends to indulge far too extremely with the stuff he loves.

Literally a kid in a candy store. Way too early to know but just basing this off of his past work and his utter fascination with Batman.

Then again maybe Chris Terrio's involvement prevented that or exacerbated it seeing as he's Affleck's writing pal after all.

I don't care as long as I'm entertained. That's all I can ask for from something like this.

I gave my long rants about how I didn't think this was the best way to start a shared universe but at this point the visual goodness and promise of all these characters joining forces is far too delicious to even contend.
