I was just watching Fantastic Four a few mintues ago. At the begining what they are hit by is a storm Cloud in space. Galactus is a storm cloud in FF2. So was that Galactus?

maybe....watch the trailer and listen to the tag lines...

BUT NO ONE, has said that the cloud is Galactus....that is just us speculating....nothing else.

I say the cloud is part of or surrounding Galactus but that he is definately responsible for the storm in part 1.

That'd be cool. It'd be interesting for the Four to find out that they are a result of Galactus.....inadvertently.

Welcome to the hype Skip....

''And now... well, now Fox has finally locked down the look of Galactus in the film that is, I’m now hearing from people on the picture, “a heartbreaker.” And not in the good way. More in the “hates superheroes and plays more like a parody than a real film” way. Are you ready for this?

Wanted to let you know what Galactus is going to look like / be represented as in the FF2 sequel: A storm cloud.

Yep. That's it. That's the solution from the creatives. (clears throat).....pretty lame.
''

:csad:

who??? where???? source???? what AICN...lol

I love the source..."I'm now hearing from people on the picture"....:whatever:

How about we wait for an "actual" source?

Sounds like "page six" a friend of a friend....

Yep....

And nothing has been confirmed by anyone.....In fact hey Lunar you should read the very good thread from Willie up in the Great Debates sticky at the top......

I hope it's a lie. Avi said this in a interview:

IESB: We talked about it earlier today, the announcement of Laurence Fishburne being the voice of the Silver Surfer, Fox has said that they don’t know if Galactus will even have a voice, can we address the rumor that Galactus is a giant cloud or something like that, is there any truth to those rumors?

Arad: You know, that’s why they call them rumors (laughter), you will see more than a cloud, you will have enough Galactus to rejoice (laughter).

Ok, where is the line????...

Arad: Galactus is a cloud...

What I do see is......

Now mind you, I don't trust Avi, therefore I put my hope in other areas....lol

Avi Arad is a businessman above all else. If he thought being negative might dampen the hype of people going over to see this film, I severely doubt he would voice his opinion. FOX has blatantly lied before. The Xverse still has a few threads saved on the free responses that shine insight into the matter. Honestly, I think they're probably working to change the concept based on the massive negativity or at least add in a scene where it's alluded that the cloud wasn't Galactus. But considering what X3 showed when FOX gets too involved in the creative process, I'm not going to be the one saying "OMG itz n0t tru3 101z" and then get egg on my face. Rothman has a tendency to speak out of both sides of his mouth as well as Arad, and neither have given me grounds to have unrelenting faith in this movie.

Which is why I don't listen to either of them....but I still believe there is more to Galactus than a cloud....could I be wrong????? sure.....won't be the first time....:cwink:

I'm not sure we will see Galactus at all in this movie.....we may see a glimpse, a shadow, who knows........I think he is being held for another movie......so cloud or no cloud, doesn't matter to me, because I don't think he's firmly in this movie....which could EASILY be changed at the end, a glimpse shown, and a nice cliffhanger....

I just want to see a gaint finger coming out of nowhere crushing everything.

This is a very feasible conclusion Lunar.

But consider this: If Galactus was enveloped in the cosmic storm in FF1, why didn't he just feast on the Earth's core then? After all, the storm was in Earth's immediate vicinity; therefore, it would be redundant for him to pass up such an obvious choice of energy for his diet--only to send Norrin later to "inspect" it all over again. Earth was already there for the taking--and clearly there was nothing to stop him then.

Just some additional food for thought.

That's assuming he was hungry at the time. At the time we saw him, he could have already eaten and wasn't hungry. And just because he is next to a Planet rich for his diet, does it mean that he knows that that is what he needs to eat?

Maybe since he was so close (and already full) he has now sent Silver Surfer to check it out more closely because he is hungry once again.

We've discussed this before, and I do think there's a connection between the "clouds" both in the first and second films. I think the mistake many people are making is assuming these clouds are Galactus rather than just a tool he uses.

I picture thousands of these clouds floating around the Universe, and when they sense life, they signal Galactus and/or the Surfer that there's something to check out. That would explain why it "accelerated" unexpectedly when it approached them.

I also remember reading an interview with Tim Story in which he said there were clues in the first film that would lead to events in the second film. Other than the obvious Doom moment at the end, the Cloud seems the most likely other "clue" at this point.

Isn't that the Surfer's job? I still think of the cloud from the original movie as one of many the big G has sent out over billions of years to re-seed the universe by triggering evolution on dead planets(working with Reed's theory from FF1) so that he will never run out of sustainence(yes, it's the old cosmic lumberjack/forester theory again). The implications of which are that not only is Galactus the source of the Surfer's powers(we already know this) & the FF's powers(which many have reasonably speculated), but that Galactus is the creator of all life on Earth. So when people go to their church/temple/mosque to pray to god, their really praying to Galactus.

I hope it's not so interconnected. Galactus doesn't need to be God. Or a god. Just...an uber-alien that eats planets.

Well they don't need to spell it out so blatantly. The audience can put 2 & 2 together.

So when we pray to Galactus how should we pray that he does not eat us, that we should not be his daily bread. :cwink:

that would be pretty cool if FF2 had all these subtleties. it would be so Singer.
