Galactus Being Saved for Silver Surfer

The first, 3rd, and last Elm Street movies were all fantastic. That was a very, very poor choice for comparion. Friday the 13th I might have been able to give you, but even those were all just sort of camp fun (pun intended).

Which is the same thing F4 was. It wasnt trying to be deep in anyway, it was just trying to be family fun, and it was. And critics say alot of stupid things. Roger Ebert hated Burtons Batman and loved Shumachers. Does that mean that Shumachers were superior? Hell no, it means Ebert is an idiot.

And they got much more than the powers right. Ben is the tortured man who hates what's happened to him. Doom is the malevolent, power hungry mad scientist he started as. Reed is a genius. Johnny's characterization has been PERFECT.

It's pity they introduced Frankie Raye so soon. She's going to break Johnny's heart.

Yeah, people may rip on the Fantastic Four flicks but I found they kept all of the fun of the Spider-man movies intact without bringing in the sappiness. What I mean is I'm able to watch Spider-man once in a blue moon and enjoy it while I'd catch a Fantastic Four movie like halfway in and watch it every time. It's just good, funny, action-adventure fun.

And in my opinion all the characters were pretty much spot on with the exception of Doom but even this version was enjoyable if not faithful. Sure some characters came off more strongly than others (Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm) but the performances overall were good.

I'll believe it when I SEE it.
Those are my feelings. Hopefully, we'll actually get "enough Galactus to rejoice" instead of it simply being corporate spew.

I hope Tim Story stay as far away as possible on this.

It's rumored JMS is doing the Silver Surfer movie.

I don't know what the problem is with Tim Story, because personally I think he did a fantastic job with the FF4 Movies, and I wouldn't have one single problem with him coming back!

It's no small feat to make the second better than the first, and I haven't talked with anyone who thinks the first one is better.

Rip on the FF4ROTSS all you want, but it's actually one of the best Superhero movies. The only parts I didn't like were Reed Richards dancing in the night club, and The Thing isn't portrayed with as much superhuman strength as he really has.

Other than that, it's a very very good movie.

I respect your opinion, but to call Fantastic Four 2 one of the best in the superhero genre isn't accurate for me. The horribly contrived dialogue, the minimal running time and horrible acting does the film in for me. I'm not saying your wrong, because we all have an opinion.

And the reason I don't want Story is because, frankly, he isn't a very good director. The sequel to Fantastic Four was a wasted concept.

Let me say first that I like Tim Storys work on F4 and F4: RotSS.

Now, let me say, I dont want him doing the Silver Surfer movie. It should be a darker, more adult tone than the F4 movies were. This is a guy, who for several years, facilitates genocide on planet wide scales. So I'd like to see a more serious director take the project on. I do want Story back for F4 3 though.

What makes you think Story couldn't do a darker more serious movie?

Gotham I respect your opinion as well, even though I don't agree with it. I don't think the acting was bad at all, in fact I think they are just how the FF4 would be. The Dialogue didn't bother me at all, it was other things that I would have changed, but that's just personal choice.

The ROTSS is just how the FF4 should be. Now bring on the Inhumans!

Because, as a director, Story had all the room he needed when Barbershop was a hit. Yet, he chooses to make somewhat a comedy action film. I'm not doubting that he can't do a serious film, but up until this point, none of the drama in his film is well directed or well formed.

That's entirely your opinion, and I don't agree. It's all good though because that's part of what makes art interesting.

I think the weakest part of the F4 movies were the dramatic parts. And I'd like to see someone with a more sci-fi edge than Story do it as well.

What was up with galactus in ff:ROTSS
didn't someone say they changed a bit of the costume so it wasn't rediculous but would still maintain the comic look

when i saw it in cinemas i was disapointed
there is a shot where u see galactus's shadow on the moon, i was like "oh yeah here he comes"

and what did we end up with a big purple cloud anus
booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

they better not mess this up

It's all kind of like posturing after all the fake posturing about Galactus for the FF2 movie.

People in the industry and some fans say Galactus could NEVER EVER work in a live action big budget movie.

OK, then why are they now saying we are going to see Galactus for real this time in an apparent Silver Surfer movie? What does that mean?

I dont think Galactus would work with the color scheme from the comics. Change that, and tweak a few other things, and he would be fine. Anyone who says that nothing can be done, other than radically changing him, is wrong. It's that simple.

But that's what people in the industry, that's what the people that supported the change, and when it came out that's what was said, you can't do Galactus in live action and have it be feasible. When the movie came out, no one was saying "We are saving him for SILVER SURFER".

I'm the troll? You're the one who seems to be following me around just to in**** me. Also, a troll is someone who comes into a thread only to post negative things about a movie (which you've been doing in the Dark Knight forums) or a poster (which you're doing right here). Seeing which one of us is banned tells who the troll here really is.

Your experience with trolls is nill, then. I have a right to call a bad movie a bad movie (Silver Surfer). I am supportive of TDK, but voice concerns.

I'll add "paranoid schizophrenia" to the list, since you believe anyone posting in the same two threads as you must be tailing you.

Both of you (The Joker and Deathstroke) are not acting like you should, but on FF fight, I have to agree with Deathstroke, There are very few people who liked the film, most of them being none comic fans, they only liked it because Alba is hot and Mcmahon is from Nip-Tuck, the film is nothing like the comics, and they completely trashed two verry good characters (Galactus and Silver Surfer), no one is speaking out of there ass here, the point is, you can like if you want, but over all no one really likes it, end of disscusion.

So you didn't see Galactus in the flames I take it?

No, I saw his supposed flamed silhouette, but I highly doubt that they "held" off Galactus for a SS movie. They didn't have that be the plan the whole time. They made Galactus how he was in the movie, and only after a fan backlash did they now claim that they "held" him off. It's all a load of BS.
