Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum?

It doesn't look like this Gambit film is in the cards.:o

So they announced the film with a release date and brought Tatum to Comic-Con all before locking him up to an actual deal?

Tatum's been championing for this for quite some time. Must be something serious.

Yeah, it's called "script issues."

(Listen to any of his recent interviews about this project.)

But it's surprising that he appeared at Comic Con if things were teetering like this...

:word:

I'm fine with Tatum, in or out of the role.
As much as I like Norman Reedus, he's not the type of Gambit I like.

As for believing this story? I don't know, everything seemed alright at Comic Con with Tatum appearing for a bit at the X-Men/Deadpool panel.

Something I noticed in the article is the name Lea Seydoux being looked at to join the movie. She literally looks like Bella Donna ripped from the comics.

I said for quite some time that I didn't see this movie actually happening, especially with Channing in the role, seeing as it was basically only greenlit because he mentioned being a fan in an interview. Looks like I wasn't too far off.

He'll probably look more like this:

It's like Gambit is wearing nothing at all..nothing at all.

I like the idea of Lea Seydoux in the movie. Such an amazing actress. If true it would be another amazing choice by Fox.

He's just pulling a David Lynch and trying to negotiate a pay raise through the press.

Hopefully this means Taylor Kitsch will get another shot at the role. Instead of a solo film he can be used for the ensembles . That would be more fitting.

So, the film has been taking longer than planned to get off the ground because Tatum was shooting from a-list directors (who all turned it down) and now he's not satisfied with how things are going?

It's ****ing GAMBIT. He needs to realize how lame the character is and start settling. LOL.

Not too me. See above. He wanted top tier directors, and now he probably wants top tier talent. And with the budget rumored at $150m, it's clear that he doesn't get that GAMBIT is not BATMAN.

Wow... Too bad, I guess.

I like Tatum but not for Gambit, I'm not upset he moved on. Maybe they can get Josh Hartnett. I know the film has to be still moving on

I'm not gonna lie, I wouldn't be mad at all if this movie never happens.

I love X-Men and I love all the characters, but for me they really work as a team, not as solo heroes.

Anyway, Josh Hartnett is a good choice too. I love him in Penny Dreadful.

To the "backburner" perhaps...This was a film that arguably never needed to be made (i.e. the marketplace wasn't demanding it).

Once Jackman's done with Wolverine, then I can see FOX trying to expand the palette a little more.

Guys...nothing's been confirmed. It's a rumor and it may be true. But I'll wait until we get an official press release from Fox.

If this is still going forward then they need to bring that budget down to less than 80.

I don't see this film moving on without a big name actor. Tatum's stock when down a little bit , but he's still bankable. Not sure who they could get or that would want to do it and on short notice.

And suddenly this thing is on life support.
