Transformers Game developer Cliffyb(Gears of War) rips Bay over TRINO!

exactly.

Hell, I'm not that expecting much. It's freakin' movie about giant robots who can transform. I'm not trying to downplay the 'mythology' of Transformers, but they were toys first then a tv show/comics. I stated that just in case if Batman or whatever.

Anyway, I'm just a tad worried that Bay might change the robots just because he wants to change them. I still think Optimus Prime till this day has one of the best designs out there. Tweak him... yes. Change him to the point where you don't reconize him..no.

How can you know how much focus they're putting on the robots? I'll guarantee you that right now, at this very moment, they have a sizable cgi staff working extremely hard on the robots. How do we determine which is getting more focus when by the very nature of this film you're not going to have big robots on set, where humans easily can be?

Because from what I remember Spielberg and Bay both confirming that this movie will focus more on humanity than the Transformers.

Of course this could've changed with time and different idea concepts, however, my dream Transformers live action movie would be The Transformers: The Movie storyline incorporated into a movie setting.

I'm keeping an open mind, though. We'll see what happens.

That's not the type of thing that changes. Theme and subplots can't entirely switch focus from one character to another without it becoming a notably different movie.

The Autobots are meant to be war machines. Highly intelligent war machines with character, drive and plenty of personality, but not prone to a whole lot of drama or personal character development... a movie needs that, that's why Sam is the star and not Optimus. Optimus has his story, and their stories are interwoven inexorably I'm sure, but like Han and Luke, when it comes down to it, the scrawny and ultimately less cool guy is the one in the middle of the picture...

Uhm...You don't really know a whole lot about Transformers do you?

Nope. I can go and read the Ultimate Transformers guide to find their true origins and purpose if you like, but people are going to the movie to see them fight and blow stuff up, if you have transformers sitting around being deep it will go the way of the Hulk Movie (and in some ways SR), it'll be great, but many will dislike it simply because it isn't action-centric like they expected...

this isnt G1 transformers

we HAVE to look at it as if this was one of those ****ty japanese spinoffs coming to the big screen.

Don't necessarily have to treat it like a "s***ty japanese spinoff". Since G1 has multiple different versions of itself, 8-9 different versions. TF's been redone so many different ways...don't have to look at it as lesser-than.

It would have been better if he was a bit more mature about it. While I agree with his point nothing about that letter makes me want to take him seriously.

Wow, he ripped Bay a new one in that letter.

not really. he just talked about himself and rape a lot.

It sounds like CliffyB needs some serious psychiatric help.

That letter should be framed and put on a wall like a fine work of art.

I didn't know that taking a dump on a piece of paper could be considered a "fine work of art".

Neither could taking a dump on what Transformers should be about.

What should it be about? And what exactly is this film about?

You clearly haven't heard of the 'Turner Prize', a high profile British award for people who can't draw worth a damn.

And by 'high profile' I mean 'totally s**t'. ;)

The Hulk (which bore abosolutely no resemblance to The Hulk most of us grew up with- The Bill Bixby series- not even a nod) and Godzilla are perfect examples.

For starters, yes there was a nod to the series in the movie, pay attention. Two is you count a cameo.

A lot of people nit pick over minor changes. I was a bit surprised by Optimus' paint job, but I won't let it ruin the movie for me. Now had they made him a pink girly bicycle with tassles...then I'd be a little perturbed.

Three actually...
1)Bruce's father in the comics was named Brian....they named his father David after the main character in the tv series.
2)Lou Feringo(sp) cameo
3)Dont get me angry line at the end

Time to drive Raleigh and give Cliffy a high five.

Because swearing = 12 years old, right?

Have you heard any halfway decent stand-up act in the past, say, 15 years? Obviously not, or else this wouldn't phase you at all.

He's very passionate about it. So what?
