Game of Thrones - Non-Booker readers' thread - NO SPOILERS

In the books, Shae often reminds Tyrion that she's a ****e. I think that one of our villains will be Ramsay or Roose. Recall that Roose played a big role in the climax of the Red Wedding.

That was quite the finale. A few thoughts

Curious to see where they take Jon's path now. He seems to have caught the eye of Stannis. Hopefully Jon can have a more important part in the story. Should Stannis take the throne, Jon would make a great hand at some point...like his father.

The Hound/Brienne fight was pretty graphic. At first, I thought they would call it even and Hound would let Arya go. Should have known better.

The Cersi and Jaime storyline is just as weird as it has been.

Tywin's pompous attitude and brushing off of Tyrerion's love for Shae was typical Tywin. "You are a Lannister". That usually does the trick, but as Cersi explained earlier in the episode. That no longer means anything to the children. Half-man wins this one hand-idly.

The three-eyed raven guy was far and away the most out there storyline going. Bran's future is incredibly hard to tell. This could go so many ways.

Khaleesi's story was quite foreboding. That scene with the baby was pretty messed up. Drogon is a scary mutha....that story is very interesting because the ramifications could be huge.

btw, I keep reading that the show is almost caught up with the books....GOOD. Now, the readers can't spoil the fun, and get off the high-horse about what is missing/different/to come/ruining surprises. That makes me quite happy.

This thread is so entertaining :o

But seriously, it must be nice to be an Unsullied viewer. :csad:

On the flip side, anyone else here get a sense of satisfaction whenever the show catches the book readers off-guard, by making changes from the books or revealing details that haven't yet made the books yet, leading to the book readers to flip out and lose their minds? :woot:

Compensates somewhat for all their snickering, smugness and spoiler-dropping that they do towards non-book readers.

Wonder if that makes me a bad person.

Makes you wonder what will finish 1st the Books or the TV Series I remember that Martin took a long time to write Book 5. Either that or it took a long time to get Book 5 out one of the two.

Yeah, I feel Roose will be the next major villain, but I do expect more to pop up to fill their roles since I feel he's mainly going to be relegated to the North/Greyjoy plots.

One thing I think really helps Martin is that while it take forever for him to write, it's not like D&D have to wait for the upcoming books to get to Amazon to read it. I fully expect the show to finish before the books have finished, but if the last book is in the editing process, they might get a copy and get the vast majority of the details for the show that way.

We have a thread for Game of Thrones, as such I am closing this. All book spoilers should be properly marked and are not to go beyond one season (i.e. if the show is on book 4, they may talk about book 4 spoilers). If people are not complying, please report them.

Thread re-opened....I want to be very clear...If someone posts untagged spoilers to future seasons/episodes, I will ban them. I have little tolerance for untagged spoilers and that will be the consequence. Remember, this thread is for the enjoyment of those who have not read the books. Untagged spoilers hinder that enjoyment and defeat the purpose of the thread. Anyone who breaks that rule will pay a steep price.

Do we have to put spoiler tags on things regarding the last released episode? (The finale) or can we talk openly about it once it has aired?

Once something has aired, it is fair game. What I am saying is, book spoilers are 100 % prohibited.

So what did Mance say about the giant being the last in his line exactly? Like is he the last in his family, or the last giant ever?

He was a Giant's prince. He was a son of a king. The last of his royal line. Or at list that how I understand it.

Thanks for reopening the thread. I dreaded ever going into the other thread lest I run into another untagged, openly hinted at or otherwise revealing comment about some book plotline that someone couldn't wait to tease about and inadvertantly or purposefully spoil to the rest of us.

Damn. Great find. I like how the shows producers and writers communicate with us.

Now that is what you call foreshadowing. :funny:

Yeah, I'm guessing Stannis might make Jon his Hand. Can he do that if he's a Snow and/or a Man of the Knights' Watch? Doesn't the wall not abide by any other laws in Westeros?

Hound fight was friggen awesome!!

Dammit I was totally hoping they'd be done and over when he came back and she was all like "screw you man". Ah well, hopefully Jamie can keep her from corrupting her son.

So glad Tyrion offed him. I had a dream back in February that Tyrion killed Tywin and I woke up all "Whaaaaaaaaaat ...oh it was just a dream" I told someone about it and they were like "Well yeah, but that doesn't happen until later". I was so mad.

3-eyed raven story reminds me the most of something out of Harry Potter/LOTR, and I like that. That set of scenes was awesome. Anyone else think Bran is gonna ride a dragon? The scene before was about that Black dragon not being controlled, and then we get the scene with Bran controlling Hodor and then being told he will fly.

When the guy came over with the charred body I was like "oh, she's gonna use the other two to go get the black one" even when she went into the dungeon with them. Did not expect her to lock them all up. :csad:

even if one of those deaths came before the foreshadowing.

The finale was a good one as usual. I wanted a bit more though! I don't understand why HBO does not give us a 2 hour season finale of GOTS.

Just do it already....especially since we have to wait for a whole year to see more. Ugh

I think Bran will end up controlling the Drogon in the end....but hope the Khaleesi does not wind up being killed. I have a bad feeling something might happen to her next season. The Warlocks may want revenge still. However, I think Joren will show his loyalty and love for her and save her somehow from potential harm. We shall see.

And what of The Hound? Why would they kill him in this way? I hope he doesn't die....especially since he should live ahead of his evil, monster of a brother, The Mountain.

Glad they did not kill off one the best characters of the show in Tyrion. I had a feeling his brother Jaime would free him. It looks like Jaime will not be the Hand of the King now huh?

Glad that w**re Shea got what she deserved as well as Tywin.
