Depending on how the end of a Dance with Dragons goes
maybe an invasion by Daenerys and the Brienne and Cat stuff
, a longer season with the fourth and fifth book, and a TV movie showing the last events.
Don't the events of the fourth and fifth book happen at the same time. Martin just needed to split it up because he didn't want this 2000 page book (but I feel like he probably changed a lot, because it took him so long.)

I think that as it shakes out if they do combine it ("if," like there's an option here) then they will lean heavily on the Northern / Summer Islands / Pentos stuff. There's a lot of interesting stuff going on at the wall that we have yet to see. The Red Lady, the battle below the wall, Sam and Craster's daughter/wife and her son/brother. The more action packed part of the story is coming.

Having never read the books (if I open a novel and the first thing I see is a map, I put it down forever :woot:) but I am suitably intrigued by the first episode. Peter Dinklage does a pretty good fantasy-British accent, and Tyrion is the character I find most compelling so far.

My thoughts exactly. If I see a map, list of characters, glossary, etc, I'm sold. I'm reading the Malazan Empire books now because it's a bit in the vein of GRRM's books and it's just as dense.

Best behind the scenes pic I've seen of this production so far.

It's evidence that the story is well thought out and the writer actually took time planing the characters and their relationships. Maps give me a better idea of how things are placed spatially, and they're geographic relationship to one another. I'm studying geographic sciences in college (about to graduate) and I've always wanted to do a project having to do with maps in fantasy novels.

Wow, you winners don't let anything go, do you?

I...what? I'm not trying to flame you or anything, but this comment makes absolutely no sense to me. Care to elaborate?

Ditto on this, please elaborate. If anything I find maps in fantasy novels more immersive in the whole experience.

Geography is for commies

Yeah, all that matters is North America and Northeast America :o

j/k

In other news, I've been listening to the audio books at work(lazy I know, but I get to kill 2 birds w/ one stone) and I've been enjoying the hell out of them. I'm almost glad I watched the first 2 eps before starting to read b/c I suck at making up character appearances in my head based off descriptions.

I had no clue there were audio books for it. I may have to get these. I love reading, but have very little time for it, audiobooks allow me to enjoy it while doing other stuff.

Are there different ones? I know some audiobooks will have different people reading them. if there are different ones which would you recommend?

Joffery is Lena Headey's characters son right? So i take it, his real dad is her...brother? :csad:

Yes, Joff is Cercei's son. Is Jamie his father, who knows at this point?

I only found 2 and they were the same guy. Typical regal sounding British dude who tries his hardest to do different voices. His "Daenerys" voice is hilarious.

I seem to recall that Joffery is
Cercei and Jaime's son
. I could be mistaken though, since it was a long time ago that I read the books.
