I really am liking this show and I have given it my usual 3 episodes so I will be in for the long haul now. I like Snow quite a bit and that Littlest Girl is just an awesome character although I do not know why Ned looked sad at the end, any explanation without spoiling?

He fought so his children wouldn't have to, and now three of his children are fighters....rob, john, and now arya

I want a set of those horn mugs they drink out of on the show!

This is spoiler lite (ie: not really a spoiler just background stuff in the books) but I'll put it in tags for the really sensitive.

There's also a lot of internal dialogue from Ned in the book about how Arya reminds him of his sister.

seriously...so Corp...your feelings on Littlefinger still the same?
That he's an irredeemable dick? Yeah. I mean, he's really charismatic and all, but that just feeds into his irredeemable dickishness even more.

He was in Episode 2 just barely. In the establishing shot of the camp where Jon and Tyrion talk about his new brothers there's a brief shot of Ghost laying down just outside the camp site. If you blink though you'll miss it.
I'm wondering if we see Ghost so rarely because it's gotta be hard to find a lot of albino wolves to play his part. We've gotten a few moments with the other wolves to make up for it, though. Bran's was awesome in the second episode. :hehe:

I think we won't see much of the direwolves for a little while,
not on till the conflict between the kingdoms start in earnest. Till they they are not really necessary to the story and it's easier to mention them once in a while.

Ghost is used in several spots upcoming. 1. To scare the you know what out of Rast. Which I'm guessing might be his big reintroduction 2. To find the wights hand after Jon and Sam say their vows. 3. To fight off the wight attack. Also Greywind and Shaggy dog are probably going to stare down Tyrion in the next episode and Greywind will attack the Great Jon. That's probably all the direwolf action we'll see this season.

just saw episode 3, i really am liking this show, never read the books. the armor looks really cool. and the fights seem pretty good so far. the training at the wall was cool to see snowe fighting. im starting to like the little dwarf lanister too.

All good points.
But on till the war of 7 kingdoms and Jon is on the other side of the wall the direwolves are not that "necessary" aside from Shaggy, Lady and Grey Wind. I think they had these couple months old pups for the pilot, then a set of pups about 15 months (the ones on now) and when they really start tearing into battlefields we'll be getting the giant CG ones ... or shot like they did with LOTR to make them look huge.

I would've thought they'd want to show Ghost a bit more than the others to emphasize Jon's connection to him so you notice his absence a lot more when he and Jon have to split up beyond the Wall. But I guess there's still time for that. Jon probably doesn't even leave Castle Black this season.

I assume you mean Summer not Lady. Ghost is very necessary in season 2. Warging with Jon, finding the dragonglass, the fight with the Halfhand. It's not till Jon crosses back over the wall with the wildings that he's absent for an extended period of time.

Yeah. Should've been the one-armed blacksmith, but Tyrion served just as well. There are already too many characters for my friends who haven't read the books to keep track of.

eh, Benjen did it in the books too....granted Tyrion less so...but I think its fitting coming from them

Yeah I missed Donal Noye too. But maybe down the line.

No, I meant Lady. Her death is one of the more important direwolf moments in the entire first book. As I see it, we can have the dogs that look about 15 months old now then the next change we see will be them really huge.

Thank you, I had made those sort of assumptions but I just needed them to kinda be said so I could make sure I was on the right path.

Finally got it! :yay:

Got the new covers huh? I saw a guy in the bookstore the other day buying those ones and I was all "dude, get the real covers." They had them, he got the real ones.

I ordered them from Amazon, and I didn't really check the covers before I put it on the cart. In retrospect, I probably should've gotten the original covers, but it's not like I can return them now.

I'm just messing with ya man. As long as you have them and actually read them. I actually kinda like the covers with the helms on them, but I do prefer the older ones with the various crests on there. But if you have the whole set and it all looks good together on the shelf then it's fine.

Oh, I thought you meant the really old ones with actual artwork on the covers. But I think they only made those for the first couple of books.
