Garbage

They're coming to Australia, only reason I'd go is because I love Butch Vig.

It was great, they always put on a great show. Setlist was good but predictable, I'm glad they played several new songs from the latest album as I had seen they were only playing 3 at the start of the tour.

They did close with Beloved Freak (which I know you really liked) but I just can't, I can't! I was disappointed with the closer.
Didn't they close with Androgyny? There is a video of it on Youtube from San Francisco. Good that they added that to the setlist. They played it last time in 2002.

You know what? You're right. I was able to get a setlist and it wasn't on it as they did Androgyny without it being planned. I'm glad they're playing that, they hadn't played it live in more than a decade since this tour.

Double-check if he's actually going then. He's been out sick unable to travel so they have someone to filling in since the tour started this year. He might be good by then but that's what I thought for the SF show; so if you're going just to see him, keep an eye online.

Official book about the band is coming in 2017

Amazon has this description:
"It was 1995, we were finishing our debut album, and I was stressed. A lot of music business people had told me it was a mistake to give up full-time music production to start a band. So I ignored them all and took a leap of faith. The simplest reason was that I just wanted to be in a band with my friends. I'd been playing with Duke and Steve for several years, and now we had a new beginning with an X factor: a Scottish singer named Shirley. She seemed like a good fit for our little club of misfits. So we all took that leap." Drummer Butch Vig, from This Is the Noise That Keeps Me Awake

World famous for their eclectic, original style, Garbage have enjoyed critical and commercial success for more than twenty years. Now, for the first time, the four band members tell the story of their incredible journey in their own words. This full-color book examines how Garbage makes their music, the tolls this takes, and how they have survived for this long.

Garbage (Shirley Manson, Butch Vig, Steve Marker, and Duke Erikson) formed in Wisconsin in 1994. Their debut album, Garbage, sold over four million copies and they were nominated for three Grammy awards. They've since recorded five more multimillion-copy bestselling albums as well as the theme song to the James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough. In 2015 they celebrated the twentieth anniversary of their debut record with a worldwide tour. Garbage's sixth album, Strange Little Birds, was released in 2016.
Looks interesting. I might buy it at some point. It's the first offical book about them.

Listening my favorite Garbage song The Trick Is To Keep Breathing:

The band has said that they might start working on a new album this year. There has also been talk about Version 2.0 20th anniversary re-release and maybe a tour. That might happen next year. It would be great to hear Medication live. I don't think they have played it in a long time.

Version 2.0 is my #1 album of probably all time, I'll be there for the tour. Tomorrow they're releasing a Cat Stevens cover; it's already up on YouTube.

The video doesn't work here where I live for some reason. Good that there is Spotify Free so I can listen it. I didn't like it at first but it gets better when you listen it more. It's a good song. I haven't heard the original so I can't compare.

It's called Rage and Rapture Tour. I hope it comes to Europe at some point. That new song is really good. I have been listening it a lot.

They're playing just 2 hours away from me. I'll get tickets as soon as they go on sale.

Thanks for the info! The one in Saratoga is still under TBD so there's no word on pre-sale for this show.

Shirley appears on the soundtrack of tv show American Gods. She did few song for it and the other was just released. She did the other one with Debbie Harry.

Queen of the Bored:

She was also on Joe Rogan Experience podcast recently:

The sample on Amazon sounds really good. They are releasing it to coincide with the tour. The book will also be released next week. I have it pre-ordered so hopefully I get it soon. I'm excited! :)

There is unboxing of the limited edition on Youtube:

The song sounds great, can't wait. Tour starts next week in Northern California, I was able to snatch front and center row tickets, then they have a book signing in L.A. which I'm planning on attending to. It's a great time being a Garbage fan.

Music video for the new song:

I love the song and the video is well made too. I got the new book few weeks ago. It is a lot bigger than I imagined. I recommend it to every Garbage fan.

I can't get enough of this song, I love the sounds it takes the band. Very excited for things to come. The show in Saratoga was great, I was 2 feet away from the band and the stage wasn't tall. Felt as it was a very intimate show playing in my backyard.

It was my second time meeting them in LA at the book signing, I've met Shirley and the boys in other occasions but separately. It was brief albeit awesome, they recognized me. It was the first time I was able to say something more other than "I love you guys, thank you".

Are you part of the Garbage Message board on Facebook, Galactus?

Suprised she didn't wanna headline Lolla this weekend.

Yes, I am.

Butch has said in recent interview that they are making a new album and No Horses might be on it. I really like the style of Strange Little Birds and this new song so I'm excited.

Love this video. I wish the full show was available:

One of the things I like most about Garbage is that they don't seem to hurry in releasing new records. They take some time to come and when they come, they're great.
