Sci-Fi Gears of War: The movie (In the works!)

I don't mind LOTR as in epic trilogy & a whole new world created, which is Sci-Fi.

But this movie must be a combo of Sci-Fi and Horror, like Aliens. No matter how you look at it, chainsawing anything makes it a horror flick. And it has been stated that there will be chainsaws, corpers, besrekers & seeders (and we know there will be locusts to chainsaw). So there has to be horror in the sci-fi. And I think it was Cliffy who alluded to an R rating.

Baird's a pretty boy? I found him pretty damn fugly. He looked as rough as Marcus. Just shorter and blond. I thought Dom was the pretty boy.

You ugly, ugly, sack of man, you.

Nah, they all have that sort of rough look. But in a movie, I think Dom will be played by a pretty boy. He says stuff like one in the games.

I wonder if they'll have the Carmines' die like punks. I think they should keep Ben's (GOW2) death since it was "emotional" & Marcus felt sorry. But I'm not sure about Anthony's death. He's complaining about his gun & then his head gets blown off... yeesh.

You need someone who's a smartass and sarcastic to play Baird. I don't think Walker has that.

Mickey Rourke? Kurt Russell?

EDIT: Though Kurt would be better Marcus.

No 50+ year olds for the cast, no matter how much I love guys like Rourke and Russell, this is a possible franchise, that needs leads in their late 20's to early 40's.

And Walker can play a smart a$$ when he needs to. I'm trying to cast realisticly here too...

COmplete co sign. Thank you. I have been wondering why people have been casting 50+ yrs olds for the role of 30 yr olds.
I mean we could use the benjamin button, xmen 3 de-aging effect but thats so much extra work when there are goo young actors who can play the part

The problem is that all 4 main characters look like they have been dragged through gravel on their faces.

I think they need to cast as realistically as possible, someone that you can look at and say "yeh, I could accept he has lived this long in a war like this". If they can find 4 30 year old guys to do it, fine, but if not, they should only go older, not younger. They'll be forking over money for the FX, not to make their young actors look old.

The characters in the game are not 50 year olds (I dont even think the guys who do the voices in the game are that old). Scruffy up some young actors, stipple on some latex and add a couple scar's here and there, and bam, Outworld War Vet.

The issue is that with video games, creators tend to make their military guys all grizzled, rough and tumble types who like whiskey for breakfast, but chronologically and physically are barely out of their 20s. Casting real people for that is a task. The main prob is that a lot of male actors nowadays that are between 18-35 are on the pretty boy side, so it's doubly hard.

Bingo.

Scar them up like they did to Vin Diesel in Babylon A.D.

I like the both of them for roles in this. Especially Mickey Rourke.

Not sure about Baird, though.

I would like them to stay away from casting Wrestlers and 'roid monkeys like Percell. Besides, the Cog's mass comes from the body armor, not Gym Time.

Certainly not the case for Dom and Cole. It does add some serious bulk, but the 4 man guys seem to be pretty beefy already.

Percell does roids? Actors can't even be muscular now? We've gone from no wrestlers to no muscular actors, period. Wow. Biased much?

hmm..Dominic might make a good Marcus. He's good the right kind of look and build. plus he's actually a pretty good actor.

Are you serious? Or are these choices just for fun? i can see because of looks for fun, but seriously casting these guys alone based on looks will make this movie suck.

Well Lester Speoght aka Terry Tate literally IS Cole Train so to cast anybody else would be nothing short of ******ed but the other choices seem pretty accurate as well. Unless people want to get a skinny actor and roid him up again. I really don't know what kind of performances that people are expecting from Gears of War. The game was a tribute to cheesy Michael Bay action movies. It's almost a shame he's not directing this.

I hate you if you like Purcell. He helped ruin Blade 3 and has been on a show about breaking into prison, escaping it, breaking back in and escaping, etc.,etc.

No talent what so ever. There is a reason why he isn't in movies.

Lester Speight is the guy who did Cole's voice in the game. and infact it has been stated that the entire Character of Augustus Cole was based somewhat on Speight's Terry Tate persona.

just thought I would point that out, just incase it hadn't been mentioned before.

I really can't imagine anyone else playing the Cole Train. they gotta get Terry Tate in there. period.

He does movies. He's good on Prison Break as well. I really don't think Drake's faults in Blade Trinity had anything to do with him either. The character was just written...rrreally badly. The guy did his best with what he was given. Being in something bad does not make a person bad.
