Sci-Fi Gears of War: The movie (In the works!)

Who could Karl Urban play?

He deserves to be in a decent movie aside from LOTR and Bourne.

He does movies. He's good on Prison Break as well. I really don't think Drake's faults in Blade Trinity had anything to do with him either. The character was just written...rrreally badly. The guy did his best with what he was given. Being in something bad does not make a person bad.
I agree.

And to add, I think Purcell's a great choice for Marcus. He would so justice to the role.

KU is doing Star Trek too.

As for Carmine, I think it would work if 2 carmines died (in Gears 1 & Gears 2). so when the 3rd carmine shows up in the Gears 3 (last of the trilogy), the squad will think he's gonna be weak until he walks over & he's a major badd ass.

There are 4 Carmines. This leads a bunch of people to think there are going to be 4 games.

I was talking about trilogy for the movies, not the VG. I don't know how closely it will follow the game and/or aspho fields. The 4th could just be talked about and not seen (or his helmet seen lol)

I disagree he has never shown me anything but bad line delivery and looking strong. If he were to be in the movie I would rather someone like him be a supporting role, he would work better as that. If he were good enough he would be in more movie roles. Hollywood wouldn't pass up on a handsome, strong young actor if he had talent. He looks like a COG but that doesn't mean he should play the role.

With Len Wiseman attached and how he casts I doubt someone like Dominic would be a consideration for the lead considering he's cast well and bigger in most if not all of his movies with Bruce Willis, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsale in Die Hard 4 and the Underworld movies. I think Wiseman thinks bigger considering he wants an actor to carry a trilogy.

I think they may do something like that, since in the last 2 games he's the "Kenny/ Red Shirt" that get's taken out in creative ways.

It isn't bad writing, he delivers everything like b-level WWE talent. Even on Prision Break, and that John Doe show he did on Fox before he 'roided up like he has.

Wow, he cast Bruce Willis in Die Hard? How was he able to get such an actor for that movie?!?! That was a real find!

Lester Speight is the guy who did Cole's voice in the game. and infact it has been stated that the entire Character of Augustus Cole was based somewhat on Speight's Terry Tate persona.

just thought I would point that out, just incase it hadn't been mentioned before.

I really can't imagine anyone else playing the Cole Train. they gotta get Terry Tate in there. period.

Sorry, I didn't know that. But I would much prefer someone else in the role. It's like casting Mark Hamill as the Joker. It can't be a guy who voiced the character.

Why not? The character IS the man. Mark Hammil is not The Joker but Lester Speight is "Terrible" Terry Tate and "Terrible" Terry Tate is Cole Train. It's actually taking a step backwards to pick anybody else. Who would take his place? Tyrese? Terry Crewes? "Tiny" Lester?

EDIT: On second thought, just look up "Office Linebacker" on youtube. Swearing's a no-no here so I can't post the vid.

Why not? The guy looks just like the character. One of the few guys voicing the character that you can actually say that about.

I've found Marcus Fenix:

I hope you are paying attention Len Wiseman.

Sorry, but he's perfect.

Do better than what any sissy boy actor could do.

I'm disappointed you don't recognize him Hunter Rider. You should know ;) .

Richard Dreyfuss as Marcus Fenix.....I can totally see it.

Dreyfus as Marcus: Oh, God, that just smells...awful...horrible. These locust things, are like, like, they smell like, Angie....remember when we went to that buffet in Little Havana, and that food? God, it was just like that. This also reminds me of that time we went to see Jersey Boys on Broadway....

Thank God not any of us are in charge of this thing.

I swear to God, if they cast and wrestlers in this film, I'm done with it.

Just because they're bulky as hell in the game (c'mon, not all the soldiers should be like that, it's a game)doesn't mean it can work in a film. The armor, their muscles were exxagerated, which is fine for a game, because well, visually it would'nt be as cool to have a bunch of skinny guys running around, expecially in the context of the game and playing as one.

You're gonna have to make them smaller, the armor smaler, and get real actors who can carry the wieght of this great plot. Of course, the writing didn't have much in the game, which does need to be expanded upon greatly, because most of it was directions and one liners. The strongest bit in any of the games is the sub plot of the Dom/Maria sotry. Make that something for Dom in the first film, to give him motivation, they all can't be fighting for a single purpose, one of those guys has to have smoething going on, it's more interesting. Adress Marcus's past too.

Repeat after me folks...(and for the slower crowd, repeat it twice)

MOST WRESTLERS CANNOT ACT.

AJ Styles is actually not a huge bulky, chunky guy like the characters in the movie with their exaggerated and wide frames.

But he still is the perfect Marcus Fenix. AJ was born to play this role.
