my dad's side of the family is VERY tight-knit. Of my grandmother's siblings, 6 of 9 are still alive and they talk every day. My gma is 82 btw.

most of what i knew on my own just based on her sibs and their kids and stuff, i knew almost 200 on my own.

the rest is bits and pieces of reunion books from our family reunions one of our cousins used to make. i'm just compiling it all together into a tree.

I am and have started to compile a family tree of my family. I'm at 367 people right now, and i'm only on my father's side.

If you are into this kind of stuff, what websites/software do you all use.

I'm only using Myheritage.com at the moment. I really like their family tree builder software. It's got a pretty easy user interface, and best of all... it's free.

I wish I could tell you the websites etc.....my uncle is doing our families tree.....it took him about 7 years to do my grandfather's side of my mom's family.......I'm not sure that you can actually do it on the internet only.....he travels with his job and was able to take time to go to cities, county courthouses etc to get his information......its an enormous task....good luck.

well my grandmother had 9 siblings herself. Her mom had 12 sibs, and her father 11, so yeah a lot ofrelatives in the older days

Damn, thats a lot. My family tree only has a little over 150 people and I thought I came from a big family. How far back does yours go?
