That first TFA teaser was released 13 months before that film came out. We are 4 months from the release of Rogue One. The time for small cryptic teasers is long gone. We are into full trailer season. Time to start giving the general viewers some concrete details that they can chew on so they can decide whether this story and film is worth seeing in theaters.

Their big trailer didn't hit till Oct.
And there's been nothing "cryptic" about the R1 teases so far, we know the main story and cast, setting, tone etc..

This petulant I want it all now! mentality is crazy.
They are doing it!
You have something coming in two days, at least watch that before crying I want more now!

The 15 second facebook thing was not a trailer. There is a difference between a teaser and a trailer. This should be there equivalent to the first TFA theatrical trailer as both are debuting with big sporting events. The only difference here is the Olympics are in the summer and football is in the Fall.

Second, this isn't petulance. The only one "crying" here is you, who is overreacting like mad.

Its not a want it all now mentality. Its about whats sensible. A 90 second cryptic vague teaser at this point is unlikely and would be unexpected. So you expecting a teaser like the first TFA teaser isnt sensible. Thats all me and Darth as saying.

And Rogue One has had only 1 teaser so far and no trailer. You cant count the Celebration production video as a trailer. It wasnt, and most of the general audience will never see that thing. Same goes for the comicon teaser. That was an exclusive for the comicon fans and 99 % of general viewers will never see that thing. The people that see those exclusive event videos were either at the event or they are the fans that actively look for that stuff online which are the people that the film doesnt even need to be marketed to. The people that the film does need to be marketed to have gotten a single teaser so far. And too many of the general audience seem to think this is a sequel. We are 4 months away. If they are going to release a trailer at this point its not going to be a vague teaser. Its time to start giving the general viewers something to chew on.

And, personally I find the statement that wanting a full trailer 4 months before release is a desire born of a "want it all mentality" to be uninformed. We all want it now but are rational enough to realize thats not practical. A full trailer 4 months before release is not showing all of a 2+ hour film.

They are debuting a trailer with a sporting event. Just like the did with MNF last year. If they didn't want comparisons, they should have debuted this online. Instead they are setting this up like the MNF trailer, which was the theatrical trailer.

Also as Marv has pointed out, you were comparing this to the first TFA teaser, which was 90 second of nonsense to just announce the film. Rogue One is announced. We know what it is about and what is coming. What exactly is the point of a another vague teaser?
