And everyone knows I can't get lies past you.No lies detected.
t:That she airlocked Trank makes me want to give Kathy more faith in her choices beyond the obvious ones to like. But if Rogue One doesn't quite work out, oh lord.
In other Star Wars director news: Colin Trevorrow's latest film "Book of Henry" has been delayed nearly an entire year. It was scheduled to be released next month but has been pushed back to next June in limited release. Smells like a turkey.
The film has been testing well, according to insiders, and the hope is that the new date will give it more room to find its audience. The summer is a bit of a wasteland for adult-oriented fare, and Focus is betting that “The Book of Henry” will be able to attract older crowds who may not be enamored of costume heroes and animated adventures. The studio still thinks the film is strong enough to warrant awards attention.
Focus has a robust slate this fall. The indie label is fielding the historical drama “Loving,” Tom Ford’s “Nocturnal Animals,” and the fantasy adventure “A Monster Calls,” all of which are generating awards buzz. After flirting with becoming a more genre-oriented label, the company underwent an overhaul earlier this year with the intention of returning it to its indie roots. Focus originally made a name for itself producing the likes of “Brokeback Mountain” and “The Pianist.” As part of the shift, longtime executive Peter Kujawski replaced Peter Schlessel as the label’s head.
Trevorrow recently directed “Jurassic World” and is about to join the keepers of the “Star Wars” franchise when he oversees “Episode IX.” Before getting into the blockbuster game, he first captured attention with the Sundance hit “Safety Not Guaranteed.” Oscar nominee Naomi Watts stars in “The Book of Henry,” along with Jacob Tremblay (“Room”, and Jaeden Lieberher (“Midnight Special”
. Other cast members include comedian Sarah Silverman, Dean Norris, (“Breaking Bad”
and Lee Pace (“Guardians of the Galaxy”
. Crime novelist Gregg Hurwitz wrote the screenplay.
Executive producers include Sue Baden-Powell, John Penotti, Nick Meyer, Bruce Toll. Sidney Kimmel, Carla Hacken, Jenette Kahn, and Adam Richman produced the movie.
You do if there is possibly more money involved, and if they already have a line-up for oscar season this year and not as much as next.
Unless you think Variety is spinning this as well.
It's spin.
Yeah sure. It's only spin when you want it to be.
Delaying a good movie for a year makes no sense. It makes no sense to put a low budget Oscar bait drama in the middle of the superhero season.
Hey, that wasn't JJ's fault. In fact he hurt his back trying to save him.Abrams - preproduction problems, delayed filming and the release date by almost 6 months, almost killed Harrison Ford, movie reviewed well and made a lot of money
Trank - trunked
Edwards - sidelined
Johnson - TBD
Lord & Miller - TBD
Trevorrow - TBD
I trust her too. That doesn't mean she can't be wrong. Also, I am not really talking a fanboy wish list thing here.I still trust her. She was the right hand of Spielberg for a while. There is always more that goes into the decisions then the fanboy wish list of directors. The interview process I'm sure is not a simple one. Trank, I think had talent, but we can tell that drugs among other things were a big issue. Glad they did get rid of him though, she realized that.
I'm sure Rogue One will be fine. Disney knows what's riding on it, they need to keep the steam going full ahead. This is their first spin-off they want it to be the best it can be. But if not I've lived through the PT, and I'm sure nothing they do will sink that low.

And I don't disagree. She could be. We are human. But again, I will wait until Book of Henry (which again according to Variety insiders is testing really well and is aiming for awards) to really solidify my feelings on him. If it's garbage, I will be concerned then right alongside you.

It would be nice if Rogue One came out, blew us away, and then all this was for nothing.![]()
I truly have a feeling it will be just fine.
If not, and it's really bad, I'll send you a bottle of whiskey and we can drink our tears away.
Or I can make claims that someone paid Rottentomatoes.com for those bad scores.

I could totally see someone who doesn't realize LF is owned by Disney going with the, "Disney paid for those bad reviews."![]()

I think Disney might be able to save it, I mean this isn't Warner Brothers we are talking about here.
Yeah I said it.
Someday my friend. Someday.Haha.
Yeah but even still with all the reports most of them did say Disney liked the film but wanted it better. There were not really any reports of it being like Fantastic Four or anything. I think Disney will do just fine.
But some day I hope DC is given justice.
