When does the review embargo lift?
The Rogue One review embargo is lifted at 5pm EST on 12/13.
When does the review embargo lift?
This embargo falls earlier then TFA's, and they knew they had a hit on their hands there. I am guessing they are going to have all the Star Wars embargoes break around the same time period to avoid showing their hand.Thanks. Just visited the thread so I don't know if this has been discussed before. I'm a little worried now. Disney likes to lift the embargo earlier if they feel they have a hit, dont they?

Well... This is just speculation... But what if...
I wonder how he gets ****ed up so bad that he needs a bacta bath...Ill be ecstatic if we get to see a battle damaged Vader in battle with part of his suit and mask ripped away. Sith eyes and scars on display. Just wrecking Rebels soldiers.

There have been rumors about two characters from The Phantom Menace making a cameo. Does anyone know who are they? I think one of them could be Mas Amedda. The other one I have no clue.

However, I didn't hate any of the clips either. Then again, if Doctor Jones had a problem with them that doesn't really make him wrong. It just means he didn't like or care for them.
Sometimes I think people get way too defensive about any negativity that might come out regarding one of their movies here.
I am curious. When did I talk about this stuff?
On the Doctor Jones front. He has been complaining about Disney Star Wars for a year now. And in the, "well the prequels were actually creativity" kind of way. So, yeah.t:
I need Felicity Jones in my pocket.
I hope Vader is portrayed well and not as just Satan. Like ANH, he's the Emperor's side guy who is used to be scary and intimidating and that's pretty much it. I like the idea that Vader is concerned about the Death Star but if he'll just be portrayed as the most bad ass living thing ever that will be disappointing.
And I call the obvious "nah" on the one who will defend the prequels, while complaining about one of the three best Star Wars films like it is an example of the sad state of film making. Doing so in multiple threads not even on the topic because you can't help yourself. Saying TFA is setting the film industry back.I get people being passionate about something but I get the sense when someone criticizes something they like, it's like a criticism of them.
These clips were bad. I hate saying this. I've criticized this movie as apart of Disney's approach for a year because it's a bad idea. So is there a prejudice? Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with having bias or prejudice with something. But I don't let that prejudice form my opinion of something when I see it. I saw this with my prejudice thinking it'd be mediocre, (maybe it'd be great, but that's unlikely given how I've been feeling about it) but it just wasn't.
A movie is supposed to sell me on it. This movie is not doing a good job. Of course when I see it I will have a better opinion but that doesn't mean I can't challenge and question what I see now.
I sometimes feel like I'm in Invasion of the Body Snatchers here.
I never conflate quality with uniqueness or originality. I mention how the prequels at least pushed boundaries and felt different and the singular visions of a filmmaker. It doesn't fix the bad quality of them though. Disney is too focused on trying to pander to fans with nostalgia and doing everything to not be disliked to the point of not taking any risks at all. Yes, that is what they are doing. If you don't think so, then I can't convince anyone at this point. Yet I have hope for Ep. 8 that can change my mind about much of this new direction. It's definitely possible. But for now, you're gonna have to deal with at least one person questioning this franchise on the Hype.
My fear is that we are lowering our standards for these movies. All these movies have to do is not be the PT and they will be considered better or good movies. They're trying to be like the OT too much in all the wrong ways. I mean it. There can be two scenes better than the PT movies and people can say, "Well at least it's not as bad as the prequels." People will use the prequels to diminish the effects of the present film. I hope this movie doesn't suck, I hope it proves me wrong (yes believe it or not, I really do!) but I hope if it sucks people will at least admit it. Because a second SW film after TFA should not suck. Each SW movie should have great storytelling while pushing what the franchise can do and make give us new meaning to what SW can do that's not just a war film or a heist film.
Now people can take this however they want, but someone from my work has a friend who works in Disney and said a few months ago that this movie was having serious problems and didn't think it'd be as successful as TFA.
Believe it or not, I care about these movies as much as you guys. I'm on your side. I just feel differently. I'm a SW fan who cares so much, that's why I say these things. I'm concerned because it's out of love. This isn't like the nest DC WB film where I couldn't give a flying ****.

Since when was Vader not the ultimate bada... oh yeah, the prequels.Obviously we all see him as the ultimate bad-ass anyway because we know what happens next, but I think his portrayal will be true to A New Hope.

When did Tarkin call him on anything? In A New Hope, Tarkin called him on his ****. He was more like a bodyguard type who happened to look pretty cool. Obviously we now know Vader was up to all kinds of **** between III and IV.
