No-Name. Her past is a mystery, both to her fellow students at the Xavier Institute as well as the faculty and staff. Nevertheless, that past is coming back to haunt her. When her teammates awake to find their nameless friend missing, there’s no way they can just let the matter go, no matter what the school’s headmasters say! Continuing the story of the offspring of the X-Men we know from writer who made the X-Men what they are today, Chris Claremont!
48 PGS./Rated A …$3.99

I want to know which relation does this characters have with the xmen, I know there are descendants, offsprings, but who?? and one question, from which point this timeline start??? the 80's?? the 90's??? when???

Okay, here are some quotes that Mr. Claremont has said regarding GeNext.

Dear Darkness --

The events of GeNext occur in the same story continuity and subsequent to the key events (that is, all save the epilogue) of X-Men: the End. All the continuity established in that series carries over to this one.

Cordially,

Chris Claremont
Yes, GeNext is a continuation of X-Men: The End.

Dear Beak --

You want to see Beast, check out GeNext, where you'll find Dr. & Mrs. Dr. Henry McCoy running the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, along with Mr. & Mrs Scott Summers. Take it from me, age has not withered, nor custom staled, his infinite variety, nor his charm.

Hope this helps,

Chris Claremont
Yes, Mr. and Mrs. Summers along with the McCoys will be running Xavier's school.

If you are wondering how Scott Summers is still alive:

Dear Darkness --

The peril of the last issue going through the last stages of production when the writer is ... indisposed. I was unable to do the last stage of editing review of the script to sort out all the louse ends. Basically, the Starjammer gathered up the surviving characters among the X-crew and got them home safely a fraction of a second before the solar shock-wave struck. My bad, I know, and for that I apologize. (And if you're wondering, how can that be, please bear in mind that the first two figures showcased on the recap splash of Volume 3, #1 are Logan and Betsy, the first clue that folks came home alive and well from that last confrontation.) As for why Scott isn't present for the Memorial, this is come 10-20 years after the events of GeNext; fate may well have caught up with him along the way. Or he's just being his usual unassuming self and staying out of camera shot. Or he's blocked out-of-view by Kitty's body on the last page. Your choice.

I hope this helps.

Cordially,

Chris Claremont
CC was in the hospital and didn't have time to edit his work in X-Men: The End to match up with his future project, GeNext.

I’m really interested in the upcoming mini “GeNext” since it’s about a group of young mutants in an alternate timeline. If this goes well, will ‘GeNext’ become a new series?

LOWE: If “GeNext” sells really well, I think we’d be crazy not to do more with the characters.

1st issue comes out May 14th.

Huh? How the hell can it be a continuation of The End? That makes no sense. The whole premise for it that fans voted on was that it would essentially be a what if story where the characters seemed to age in real time. Did he completely forget this already?

Here is his response for using the The End Universe:

Dear Soundwave --

Roughly -- when I sat down to write the series. After creating a future history for the X's, it seemed like a serious shame to waste it.

wait a minute... I thought the entire point of GeneXt was that it was a view of what the X-Men could be like if theyd been aging in real time. Thus why theyre all old now and their kids are the new X-Men...

...but X-Men the end was what would happen to the current roster of X-Men in the future.

How can the two be together? I dont get it :(

Could Claremont just not come up with a new idea for the future X-Men so just used his old idea and changed a few bits?

So he changed the end to X-Men The End and wrote this sort of prequel to the epilogue of that series? That sounds so very weird... if so, Ororo had been paraplegic for a long time... so how could she give birth to "Becky"? And who is her father? Logan?

No, it's pretty much a sequel to X-Men: The End. Which is exactly why I won't be buying it now.

that's weird, I was expecting more of a continuation of the 80's, not a sequel to the end....the end was kind of messy, specially it's ending.....well, I'm gonna wait and see....

Yeah, far as I know, that was the original plan, which intrigued me greatly. This just leaves me cold.

So... despite being quite terrible, the End isnt even the end anymore? I guess it wouldnt have been dramatic if they called it "X-Men : Something that could possibly happen in the future maybe but probably not"

I thought this was almost canceled because Claremont became ill. I did not know that it was actually out..

^ I think it's pretty appopriate for the kiddy feel of the book. I kinda like it. Yeah, and I thought this book got cancelled, I had no idea it was out.

Art's pretty good, but the preview pages don't appeal to me.

looks lame.... were having at least 5-6 pages then of them just getting beat, so they can have a 2 page lecture on how they need to work as a team and what it means to be an X-Man no doubt.

i m just interested because these are the kids of the x-men. may not buy an issue, but definitly looking at the first one, since oliver is supposedly on the first page of the first issue.
besides its from CC, how bad can it be?

Have you read *anything* of what he's written since his comeback?

Granted, not all of it was awful, but... damn. Surely, he's got something on the editors to explain the whole thing, right?

lol...are you seriously asking that?

sarcasm is a foreign language apparently :oldrazz:
