so I'm getting a tattoo soon. I thought long and hard about what tattoo to get and I'm glad I chose the one I did. I'm getting the warning logo, of a man getting shocked by a bolt. You might recognize it as a Green Day logo. Green Day has been a big part of my life for a long time and I'd love to get a tattoo to pay tribute to them. The tattoo isn't just to express that, though. It demonstrates living without warning ("Live Without Warning" to be tattoo'ed around the circle) and not worrying about the cautions and restrictions other people try to put on you.

This thread isn't to be a discussion on Green Day or bands. It's on tattoos, and more specifically, ones you have.

Also, does anyone have the image below, but larger and clearer? I need one to work with so I can edit the lettering around it but I can't seem to find any pictures of it big and sharp enough. Bigger/sharper, the better. I'll make you a pretty thank you picture if you find it. The colors don't matter; jus the image.

NOFX is going to want to date you.

You're going to regret getting that GreenDay crap. :csad:

But seriously, it's your body, mark it up however you want. I have 3 tattoos. 2 badass, and one that raises many questions. Rawk on.

Get one on your buttocks that says, "Your Name."

Reminds me of that Simpsons ep. where Homer gets the Starland Vocal Band tattoo. I'm all for getting tattoos when something significant happens in your life, but if their popularity wanes in years and they turn out to just be a fad umpteen years down the line, well....

I'm really not. But thanks for the approval.

...you're right. It's a little too much.
I don't have a Slipknot tattoo jackass. I don't make stupid decisions like you do apparantly. :whatever:

You're flawed perception of silliness, however, is in indefinite question.

And I want an apology for that insult. Internet criticism seriously hurts my feelings, sometimes causing outbursts in the form of replies with clever smileys. :(

Where are you putting it? I have a little one on the inside of my wrist. Nothing fancy, just a symbol.

As far as the criticism goes... a band symbol seems like something you could easily outgrow, but if you're sure... then right on. Do what you want to do.

the placement is the one thing that might cause me not to get it... cause the only place I would put it is on my arm and I dont want to look like.. idk. Someone said Nazi at my friend's tat shop. But we'll see.. there's a couple other designs I wouldn't mind.

Untrue. My tattoo still continues to rock.

this is very true. I dunno... I've been a fan since I was 6, but I don't know if I want my first and possibly only tattoo to be a band symbol, actually. You bring up a good point. I'll probably decide sometime this week.

I don't have a "flawed" perception at all. I fully realize that I may not like Slipknot as much as I do in the future and when I am older. I have already somewhat grown out of it through my past three years on this board listening to many different styles of music and bands. You are around my age... you'll regret getting a band tattoo when you're older. Have fun living with it/getting laughed at/having it removed.

Haha. If you don't really have that, then get it... you will be king of all that is awesome.

It would look a bit more like a Nazi styled tattoo if it the lightning bolt was an S like the SS had it... but it's different. You do have some Nazi colors in that... red and black. But I don't really see anything that would give you any trouble for being a supposed Nazi.

Seriously, what are they.
A great white shark, a serpent/dragon thing, and a drawing I did of a cartoon character I made up.

True. I'm glad I posted on the boards about it though because I'm actually not sure if it's what I want now. I want something that has a meaning, and not just is funny or looks cool. I want something I can look at every day and be reminded of... idk, something (whatever it means, for example). I've been looking through illustration books for ideas.

Where are they and why those.
