I have never gotten into any of Cap's solo books, but figured I'd like to, mostly out of interest in Brubaker's writing, and enjoying how Cap has been used in some of the other present-day books.

I know the three Omnibuses will cover most of it:

Captain America Omnibus
The Death of Captain America Omnibus
Captain America Lives Omnibus

But from there, I see a bunch of mini-series, and things like that, ones I don't know a) where they go timeline-wise and b)if they're even worth getting. Plus, it looks like at some point the book reset it's issue numbers (?) as it goes from the 600's to starting at 1 (unless they're different books).

Ones like:
Steve Rogers - Super Soldier
No Escape
Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection
Prisoner of War
The Trial of Captain America
(any I'm missing?)

I was able to sort out Daredevil when I got into him, because themanwithoutfear.com has a good breakdown of his HCs, TPBs, etc. If anyone either knows where to find this info, or could help me sort this out, it'd be appreciated.

If you want modern Captain America just go for Brubakers stuff. I havent read the other seperate TPB's but if you want modern day Cap check out:

Captain America Omnibus (collects issues 1-25 of Brubakers run...the whole Winter Soldier story is in here so dont worry about the Winter Soldier Ultimate Collection)

The Death of Captain America Omnibus (collects issues 25-42 of Brubakers run)

Captain America Lives Omnibus (collects 43-50 of his run, plus Reborn issues 1-6 which all tie in with the previous stories in the first 2 omnibuses. After Reborn they start a new numbering and this collects issues 600-601)

Captain America: Two America's TPB (collects 605-605, Who Will Wield the Shield one shot)

Captain America: No Escape TPB (collects 606-610)

Captain America: The Trial of Captain America TPB (Collects 611-615)

I believe thats all the TPB's they came out with. On Sept 7th there coming out with Captain America: Prisoner of War. That will collect issues 616-619

If you get all of these you should be fine and have more than enough Captain America to get you through the day.

The Steve Rogers: Super Soldier book is a mini-series that, from what I understand, didn't have anything to do with Brubaker's Captain America run. I've heard it loosely tied in with the first arc of Secret Avengers.

I didn't know that The Death of Captain America Omnibus
Captain America Lives Omnibus came out.....that would be awesome to collect.
