Ghost Rider 2 underway

Not really. Vengeance isn't that deep a character...sure he's the Venom of Ghost Rider, but his fanbase isn't too big.

Ghost Rider in general is R, not PG. Didn't stop Sony before though :ninja: Not to mention it was hard enough hard enough rendering Ghost Rider himself, never mind how'd they do Vengeance.

Exactly! God knows how they'd ever manage to render him on-screen (w/ all that "unique bony parts" of his, that'd be one VEEERY HARD work!)

I'd much rather see some of JB's original foes, myself. I'd love to see them upgraded with better powers & looks (Like Centurious; he was the only Blaze villain who got an upgrade in Vol. 2).

If they use Ketch, get his villains. If it's still JB, stick with his own foes. I'd be much more comfortable seeing Orb & the gang return after all these years, on cinema.

Lets not forget how goofy vengeance would look in 'realistic' form... I mean big fangs..a bony mow-hawk, and spiny ribs coming out of his leather jacket...

I agree with Cain, if they stick with JB, stick with his foes and I really liked Cain's vision of the Orb. Dammit Cain why aren't you in talks with Sony?

Any serious Ghost Rider fan should be speaking to Sony, namely Cain, myself, you Sun, and crazy_sock at the very least! :ninja:

HAHA! :woot: You mean present them with my own ideas? Sure! Maybe one of these years after I've made a name for myself, as a writer. I'd love to work for Marvel too, someday; It would be a great honor to write stories about my most-beloved character.....namely GR! I'd bring DK back, reform the Spirits of Vengeance, uncover the whereabouts of Emma & Craig, and all the other cool stuff I've got inside my head now. Hehe...

I've been thinking....... Why not have Linda Littletrees (Witch Woman) star as the new antagonist if they plan to continue with JB? I've always felt she was one of the more underrated villains in the original comic. Linda's got a good background, IMHO -- and when you think about it, she and Blaze are like "kindred spirits"; a.k.a both got duped into living 'the dark life' thanks to Mephs' machinations (Johnny via fraud deal; Linda through getting involved with Jennifer's Satanist cult).

I'd like to see Linda portrayed as both an antagonist & a possible romantic interest for JB in the films (the latter was briefly hinted at in the comics before she eventually hooked up with Sam). In admittance, I've always liked Linda better than Rocky, anyway :csad:. I think - with a good script & proper casting - there's a chance she coud end up becoming the 'Cat Woman' of Ghost Rider (and hopefully, make a return to the comics!).

Hmmmm.....getting another vision inside my head. I'd better come up with another script about this.....

Linda Littletrees could be good if updated and SERIOUSLY re-vamped, but i would rather see Deathshead or The Orb.

I'm thinking Orb is a perfect choice. He was always the biggest thorn in Blaze's side.

Centurious would be nice too...he could pave the way for a Ketch movie:word:

Hmmm.... very true. Although as much as I love the guy I DO WISH they'd update Orb up a little, too (better yet, A LOT!). I mean, from what I recall -- everytime Drake would muster enough guts to cross JB's path in Vol. 1, he'd usually end up scampering away like the 'outmatched guy' that he was (in some issues, WORSE!). I just don't think a puny laser gun, hypnotic/laser-shooting "eyeball helm", and a bunch of disposable thugs are enough to do Orb justice as a modern GR villain.

Perhaps if they "remodel" his character w/ a more 'appealing' look -- write up a story in which EARLY ON in the film GR whoops him up good; Mephs comes over and 'demonizes' him (like what happened to DK's Scarecrow); and become a MUCH more threatening foe for JB to deal with -- Orb will once again TOP the chart as Blaze's signature villain :woot:!!! Plus, it might also inspire Way to bring him back in the comics, someday :word:.

Come to think of it, YEAH! If they follow the helm of the original story, Cents role would put a nice ending to JB's film run. Although, I hope you won't mind me wishing that he'd (Centurious) be physically portrayed more akin to his Vol. 2 self -- complete with the mask, long silver hair, and that intimidating 'red garb' :cwink:; Same as how I want JB to continue wearing the modern "biker/chain" look.

If everything flows well, part 2 would feature the return of The Orb and part 3 concludes JB's run with Centurious - thus ending a trilogy. And after that, its time for Dan Ketch to shine w/ his OWN trilogy!

Of course, that might be too much to ask, though :csad:. *Sigh*...... They really need to take these movies more seriously, this time.....

Hhhhmmm, all of this sounds a bit over the top to me though, and quite a lot to fit into a 2 hour movie (especially Centurious!), but you never know, people like the Orb, Linda Littletrees and (one i'm hoping for) Daimon Hellstrom would need a serious re-vamp for a movie appearence.

But with enough imagination, they could do it.

Amen to that, AVEI :cwink:. Its gonna take a great challenge, to be sure, but somehow I just know they can do all these great stuff if they pour their whole hearts into it. Let's keep hoping guys! And as the poster Burnforever usually says: GR 4 EVAAAAA!!! :ghost: :woot:

They definately could do all kinds, even the likes of Kazann, etc could be seen, but imagination needs to be a big factor in the re-vamp of any 'older' characters.

This is why I don't see a sequel happening anytime soon. We're all debating about who the next villain could/should be, and thus we can't even agree on which version of Ghost Rider we should be seeing.

By version I mean Vol. 1, 2, 3, etc...

^I think they were right to have a hybrid of all of the versions, i think they should do that in the sequel also.

Whatever they do, they better have the budget and the organization to make this movie come out when it scheduled to come out and not take 3 years.

In 3 years we could have had a triology.

Lawsuit now so until settled forget it. Then the strike is coming so all 2009 films better be done filming before end of May 08. So unless something happens this week look for the earliest possible Ghost Rider film to happen in 2010 if the strike happens.

^Are there even plans at Sony to go ahead with a GR sequel AD?

At this point i'm starting to think we wont be getting a sequel at all.

Sony might want to squeeze in another Ghost Rider movie before they lose the rights to it.

Most likely Sony wants to add to the franchise they created so it would be a sequel to the original with minor fixes to gripes in the original. MSJ would most likely have some role in it, and Nicolas Cage would return if they come out with a real killer script. If the studio is faithfully behind the script, then that might mean more money for effects which is equivalent to more Ghost Rider on the screen.

If they do a remake, they'd have to do everything from scratch and...depending on how much time the Studio has to release a sequel...this could become quite arduous, and not likely..

Yeah i know what you mean, but i have also heard its pretty certain that Nic Cage wont be back also, if he doesnt come back, they either need to do Dan Ketch or a reboot IMO.

If Nic Cage ain't gonna be back they won't have a choice but to do a reboot, I mean his face is plastered on every Ghost Rider ad.

Not necessarily, they might try their luck with a new actor. Ill-advised, but I mean c'mon, it's Sony :whatever:

I don't think its ill-advised. If Cage doesn't come back that is still no reason to start from scratch. Everyone knows Toby is peter parker, if he stops doing spiderman, there will be a new actor and no reboot...nor should there be. I don't see the difference.
