Ghost Rider 2 underway

Flamehead,

I'm sorry you got disgusted with the forum, but I think there were many critical points that the movie should have taken into account, and as a fan of Ghost Rider, I can say that my points were not to hurt Ghost Rider franchise (and after meeting Gary Friedrich neither is his), but to let those responsible for this movie that we're not ******s and we won't just be sheep when they hype a movie, the movie has to live up to the hype. I enjoyed watching the movie initially just because I WAITED So long for it..after it was all over I really felt dissapointed. MSJ, I felt lied to the fans in terms of the action he promised and the enemies that were supposed to be cool, the love story, the baddies who he built up so great but performed so horribly. Don't get me wrong...I don't think this was all his fault, (Mostly Sony's) but the $110-120 million budget was blown...just to think what this movie would have been like under a a better team makes me regret it all.

I dont want Depp in this movie! Please dont recommend him, then again i dont want a ghost rider 2¬

I concur with these sentiments. I'm glad to hear that you're doing fine BG. Be well my friend!

Yeah, I've been around, but I got quickly disgusted by the comments after the movie was released and the influx of hate, that I just had to take a break from posting.

I agree some people went a bit OTT with their criticisms, but mostly the criticism has been contructive rather than abusive. And there is always the older and wiser heads like you, me and a few other who did like the movie to balance it out :cwink: .

On a more serious note, Biggun, its good to have you back and i'm glad the op went well.

I loved Ghost Rider, and I really want Ghost Rider 2. Hollywood takes too damn long with all this production horse-****

^I know, this one is especially taking longer with the lawsuit and all, hopefully in the new year we will hear more.

^Not sure, its not looking good at the moment, but the movie made $237 million WW, then an extra $92 million on DVD in the US alone, so it made a healthy profit, which is why i'm surprised we havent heard more.

It's not. The movie did not make much,Marvel is now interested in guaranteed possible new franchises like Iron Man,Thor,Captain America.

so is this movie still happening?

I believe it is. For one, Nic Cage and MSJ both have shown eagerness to make a movie, and the movie did make a substantial profit. The problem is how they can make a better movie and I think in that sense, the studio and Nic Cage + MSJ can't agree.

Nic Cage said he wanted a more darker Ghost Rider movie, and MSJ wants more action, which means more money, and there is no gaurantee unless they write a killer script that the Studio can rely on.

It's going to take some time for them to come to an agreement.

If GR2 is going to be just like the first movie, all fluff, no edge, and stupid one-liners, then count me out.

Took the words right out of my mouth.
I remember initially enjoying it for the same reason, but as what I'd experienced sunk in, I was overwhelmed by a "whoa, that really sucked" feeling.

This could be the case, i very doubt they wont make one eventually given how successful the first movie, it may just be that they are trying to give a great movie this time.

I feel the same way, but I still like the movie. I can watch over and over again.

I try watching the whole movie but I get bored real fast with the cliche love story and cliche bad guys. I just go straight for the action and skip to the GR transformation, Elemental ass-kicking, and his final ride with Carter slade. Everything else is just uninteresting.

Everything about the movie was awful. I hope a sequel is not made.

I just hope the next enemy will pose a real challenge for Ghost Rider..and the whole issue of him fighting only at night kind of bothers me, that should be changed as well. Give me memorable bad guys and memorable action.

He would be, except he would be totally out of place since he has nothing to do with Johnny Blaze.

I actually think Ghost Rider is pretty good,I watched it yesterday and liked it more than the first time I saw it which was in the theater where I work.
:yay:

I must say this, knowing that Ghost Rider made around 200$ million worldwide at the box office plus around 100$ in dvd sales
makes me one very happy Ghost Rider fan. :)

I doubt there will be a sequel anytime soon. But if there was, I'm hoping it would be a journey film where Ghost Rider is constantly on the road, searching for the final villain. That way we can see more motorcycle scenes.
