Ghostbusters 3

She doesn't have anywhere near the acting chops to pull off a replacement for Jeanine. Why did Ackroyd have to pick the one actress I hate so much I can't finish a film with her in it? I hate everything about Faris; her laugh, her nuances, her facial expressions, her voice, her timing, everything.

Every time I see her on TV I want to reach into it, put my hands around her neck, and swing her around like a chicken. It's like I woke up into my worst nightmare, all about Ghostbusters III. I need a drink.
I agree completely, but if she turns up in this, I tried to hope she was in a role without much screen time. ALthough I did not like that movie anyway, I keep coming back to Observe and Report on this where
Anna Faris was supposed to be the love interest through the film, being all ditzy and stupid like she plays in every film. And then randomly they show her having sex with one of the film's antagonists near the end just to eff up the main character's life some more.
I don't like her acting, and I desperately hope she keeps far away from this film if possible.

Was just reading article saying from dan the script is in the bag now. Hopefully if true we will get things moving along faster.

I still don't like the idea of Peter Venkman being a ghost in the movie. If that was the only way they could get Bill Murray to agree to the movie, then they weren't trying hard enough. I dunno, hopefully that's just one of those ideas that was just played with but ended up in the idea dumpster.

Well sure I don't like it either. But we never gotten offical word that os what is happenng. Only rumors and bill saying he wants to be a ghost. So I wouldn't fret to we know more on the offical story.

This movie won't happen, because Bill Murray won't approve of anything about the third movie.

Unless of course:

He's pulling a Joaquin Phoenix and pretending to say bad things about the third movie to give it some publicity, although I some how doubt it.

Why does the character Peter have to be in the film at all? Can't they just mention he's married off and retired and move on?

Because everyone loves Peter. Not having Peter would be like not having Ray. Yeah, you can still write a story, but you'll still feel like something is missing.

I do think it will happen. This is far better place and more ready to go then the past attempts. As for peter who knows what is there. Sure bill is a big factor but mwho knows what's going on in his head.

Because Bill Murray is probably the most integral part of the cast.

And, more importantly, the movie can't be made without his permission as per an old rights deal.

I think they could move on from Bill's character in later sequels but it wouldn't feel right to not have him involved in this one.

Just submitted my headshots and resume. Probably won't get any hits on it, but I figured what the heck right?

I would love to see another Ghostbusters movie. Love to.

But the ideas Ackroyd, Ramis, Ritman and co are talking about just don't excite me.

Baby Oscar from GB II being a college grad Ghostbuster? Vankmen being killed off and turned into a ghost? A female being put on the team for PC reasons? The original characters taking a backseat to newer characters that might not be very interesting?

I don't know. I think it's too late for a part three in the original series, as too much time has passed. I think a reboot would be the best way to go, if they want to bring Ghostbusters back to cinema.

Those original characters and the chemistry of the cast, along with the basic idea, are what made Ghostbusters a hit to begin with. It was also what made the Real Ghostbusters cartoon so good, and a commercial sucess.

I want to see Egon, Peter, Ray, and Winston busting ghosts and interacting with each other. I don't really want to see a 23 year old Oscar with a proton pack.

From what I heard it sounds like the original Ghosbusters will have equal roles with the new. If that's the case, I like that idea more than just passing the torch on and concentrating on just the new characters. Plus, it'll make some great hijinks with a mentor/student relationship.

Its time to pass the torch. Having these 4 regularly busting now...at their ages? They'd look almost as ridiculous as Indiana Jones did in KOTCS.

As long as these 4 have prominent roles in the movie as MENTORS (maybe a lil' busting). That's all i'm looking for.

The movies are comedy. It's supposed to be ridiculous. Hell it was already ridiculous.

Ridiculous but not to the point of parody...which it would become if you had a bunch of over the hill, past their prime, out of shape GBs still busting as opposed to training the next generation.

I mean, is that really the lasting memory you want of Egon, Winston, Ray and Peter?

While they might be over the hill, they still have the experience. It's not like I want them busting through the whole movie, but it would be nice to see them help out the new recruits at the end.

That's what the point of this movie will be , to restart the franchise and pass the torch to new ghostbusters.

there is no need to reboot the series at all. plus i doubt that would happen. Since dan/harold/ivan/murray have all the rights to the series. A contiuation with there characters older and retiring and a new crew helping is still a solid story to go with.

I just don't see the appeal in Oscar from GB 2 being a Ghostbuster, or the purpose in shoehorning a girl into the team other than the novelty factor. It just screams of Mutt from KOTCS, or Superman's bastard son in Superman Returns.

It was the original characters that made the 1984 movie and the 1986 cartoon a sucess, and it's unlikely that the new characters having the torch passed to will be as interesting, especially if they are seriously considering ideas like Vankmen being a ghost being part of the plot of the movie. That sounds like a shark jumping idea if I've ever heard one.

I don't need to see another GB movie in the same continuity as the previous two films if it's just going to wind up sucking and being a disappointment.

Then you're one of the few...FOR YEARS people have anticipated that a grown up Oscar would eventually become a GB. The appeal comes from the fact that like the main 4, he too is a character from the original movies and could serve as the central character/leader of the new team.

As far as the girl...its different. Plus, it plugs the whole you'd need for a potential love interest. Two birds with one stone.

Again, you make it sound as if they wont be in the movie at all. Their presence will be all over GB3. Having the originals passing the torch is not only the most logical and plausable angle to take...but its also the most interesting.

I find that to be much more appealing than to have our original team (who mind you, are in their 60s by now) still busting ghosts on a regular basis. Not only is that unoriginal, but frankly something that could be a potentially sad sight to see on film.

Not to say I don't want to see them in action at some point in the film. I want them to mentor the group and maybe towards the end, have one last go and help the new team in the final battle. That'll be enough for me.

Well...obviously. I don't think anyone would want that.
