Ghostbusters 3

yea i could see it open with them trying to bust ghost still. but they dont do it as well as they used too. So that helps them decide to train some new folks. So then the new guys are doing busting while the old ones help out in other ways. Then at the end the big baddie is taking out by old and new joining together.

Then you're one of the few...FOR YEARS people have anticipated that a grown up Oscar would eventually become a GB. The appeal comes from the fact that like the main 4, he too is a character from the original movies and could serve as the central character/leader of the new team.

As far as the girl...its different. Plus, it plugs the whole you'd need for a potential love interest. Two birds with one stone.

Oscar was Dana's baby. That's all he was in GB 2, a baby who's dramatic purpose in the story was to be put in peril and to give Bill Murry a person to make funny faces at. I never saw that movie when I was a kid and thought "oh I sure hope he becomes a Ghostbuster someday".

Well...obviously. I don't think anyone would want that.

But with the ideas that are rumored to happen (Vankmen being a ghost), the likelyhood of it being just that are very high. I can see the eventful backlash being just as bad as it was for KOTCS and Superman Returns.

So would you prefer to have just 4 random new Ghostbusters then?

I mean, seriously what possible negatives could come from making Oscar a GB? At least by having him as a character, right off the bat you have someone to identify with.

I agree there it gives us a connection to the past along with the old guys then having all random new folks. Plus also if the film opens saying they still busted for a few more yrs after second movie oscar probably was around for that and grew up idolizing them.

I think I would only want to see another Ghostbusters film if the majority of the original cast was in it....

I´d like to see at the opening of the film pictures of them busting some ghosts throught the years leading up to modern day, then the first half of the movie we see them retired and living a boring life, they guys meet up once in a while to talk about the good ol times and how great was being a ghostbuster, they decide to re-open the ghostbuster business and wear the uniforms one last time, after failing an attempt to catch a ghost they realize they are not as agile as they were before, so at the start of the second half they start to hire the new ghostbusters, the young ones that are destined to continue the business, and stuff happens, more stuff happens, and they beat up a baddie at the end and bla bla bla.... yeah thats all i have. :woot:

Honestly, I haven't met that many people who really hated Mutt in KOTCS (aside from on a message board). And with my complaints for that film, Mutt was nowhere near the top. KOTCS really wasn't that bad, it just tried to do a little too much in places, and I was just never big on the alien idea. But even more then aliens, the dumb CGI gophers and monkey's bugged me.

If Oscar is written well, he'd be fine.

yeah but it is only a downloadable game for PSN and xbox marketplace. from what I seen the character you played in the 1st game ROOKIE is a head of his own GB franchise. I DO love the Ecto 1 looking Humvee :awesome:!

and to top it all off, none of the original cast (Murray, Aykroyd, etc.) came back for this game. this is more of a spinoff than a true sequel i think. it would have been better if they did a Real Ghostbusters game.

Hope this movie actually happens. Not too excited about the Anna Faris, Will Forte rumors(not a fan).

I'm personally hoping for John Krasinki(GB), Alan Tudyk(GB), Anton Yelchin(as Oscar), M.E. Winstead(GB, Love Interest), Idris Elba(GB) and Felicia Day(new receptionist).

This is basically a quick cash grab.

well on the subject of hader and faris, who knows if they would accept the role, or what not if they actually had meeting with sony/and others in charge. Heck for all we know those guys could be chooses dan/harold/ivan like, but things could change at a drop of a hat and the cast we ultimately get is some one totally different.

Ivan Reitman says `Ghostbusters 3' script is ready

AP – Director Ivan Reitman, from the film 'No Strings Attached' poses for a portrait in Beverly Hills, Calif. …

LOS ANGELES – Power up that Proton Pack: "Ghostbusters 3" is closer to becoming a reality.

Ivan Reitman, who directed and produced the first two "Ghostbusters" movies, says "a very good script" for the third installment in the comic ghost-hunting tale has been sent to star Bill Murray.

Reitman said Friday that "nothing you've read on the Internet is accurate" and that Murray hasn't yet read the "Ghostbusters 3" script.

But the filmmaker is confident about its content, saying "it's good enough to do, to take the risk of doing again."

Reitman's latest project is the romantic comedy "No Strings Attached," starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher. It opens Jan. 21.

Jesus, there is a possibility.

Honestly at this point I could do without another film. But if it gets made ever, I'll see it.

If Murray doesn't like the script you can forget this film of even happening.

i know we are right there, so very close now. Hopefully murray will like this script and then we can get the official green light and casting and filming by end of the yr.

I hope this movie gets green lit and I'm hoping Murrary will come back as Peter, along with the other original Ghostbusters. But I certainly don't want someone like Rogen or any of those guys joining the cast. They could at least get out and explore the more less known comedians.

i dont think it would be anyone like rogen who personally i dont have any issues at.

i like Seth Rogen, but i do not want him anywhere near this film

there's only 2 guys from the Apatow crew who i can see as Ghostbusters - Jason Segel and Paul Rudd
