I dont think this will get greenlit to be honest. They did this same thing back in 99 with Dan's "Hellbent" script. Bill doesn't sound too enthused about the new script.
Hudson hearsay sez Reitman guessing a Fall 2010 GB3 start

I’m posting this partially because its intriging and partly as a test of my no-comments-for-GB3-posts resolution.
Top notch PC reader and Philly GB member EDFX got to meet Ernie Hudson at the Big Apple Con this weekend in New York. The guys got a great photo with him, as well as a video interview – not included on the tape, but rather told to them afterwards by Mr. Hudson, is that Ivan Reitman has contacted him about a third Ghostbusters and that Ivan Reitman is guessing on a Fall 2010 filming start.
So, to recap, for those that are reality or impulse impaired – this is hearsay (ie, Hudson told the Philly GBs) of intent (Reitman contacted Ernie just to check on things – schedule timing, etc. most like) and a guess (Reitman is guessing on a Fall 2010 start, leaving a year for the principles to clear their work schedule for GB3, and assuming Sony says OK.)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – sometimes some details have to be started before the money starts to come in and cameras start to roll, meaning Reitman, who intends to make the film, has to get an idea of when everyone will be free now, even before Sony says OK. Otherwise Sony says OK, and THEN they start to schedule things… which means it doesn’t start until later, which means it doesn’t get done and released until later…
Thanks Ed and Co.
OK, it’s 9:10 on Sunday…
…how long until this is all over the movie news sites, who are currently Ghostbusters 3 Insane!?

What a great bit of news to double post!![]()

Hey, despit ehis distaste for his time with GBII etc., he was pretty ok to do Zombieland, if anyone knows what I mean.I think we can all agree that the climate never has been, and never will be again, so right for the third movie. It seems as if the story is there, and maybe the script is up to par. I'd say the biggest obstacle is Bill. He did participate for the video game, but that's not quite so involved as filming a major motion picture. Hopefully this is something he will wholeheartedly commit to.
Aykroyd rephrases Murray, says new team will be unknowns
By castewarPublished: 30 October 2009 4:12 PM PDTPosted in: GB3Tags:
Dan Aykroyd spoke briefly this week to NY Magazine and expounded on Murray’s comment that he liked some of the new script, but not all of the script, saying “This one? No [Murray hasn't been critical of it]. He likes it.”
Aykroyd also reaffirmed the plan to extend the franchise past the original team by introducing a new team, a mix of male and female, but he put some new emphasis on picking unknowns (something that would work better should the actors be called for more than one movie, as well as help manage the budget of a film that has to pay a lot of big names just to get started.)
Thanks to Nevil for the heads up!

Murray has carved a career of more than just a comedy actor. It makes it harder for him to go into a movie with a subpar script than say a Dan Akroyd (sp?) for example.
