Action-Adventure Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

As an 80's kid, I can vouch for this.
I am a PROUD 80s kid and I still want to be a Ghostbuster only if I get to drive the car ;)

I mildly like what we've seen so far. The frozen aesthetic isn't too exciting but the film having a new villain and gimmick is greatly appreciated. Looks like there's more to do for Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd which is good too. Glad to return to the city, and away from long, loving gazes at dusty props (I hope). The shot of the group in their winter uniforms was cute. "Cool new suits!" for the Ghostbusters = matching coats with logos on.

love that shot of the Ecto 1 doing that 180 it has to be tough to get a car that big and heavy to move like that damn

Ecto 1 is a big girl she is 21 feet long and minus all the stuff on the roof is 7000 pounds so imagine how much power is under that big hood to make it do this damn

I am loving the Ecto1 porn we're getting with the new movies. Afterlife had some great shots of it as well.

I haven’t kept up with this at all. Just saw the trailer in the cinema yesterday and saw Paul Rudd was in this. Guess I have no choice to go see it now. :D

Real Ghostbusters was just excellent back in the day, but it is a cartoon and wrapped in 22 minutes. I just hope they don't forget is the lore, and motivation and development for the villains and heroes.

Ecto is still badass. . . . They're still using 1. Wonder if 1A will come up. Or if we'll see maybe the Ecto 2 copter, or ecto 3 go kart

I do remember Jason Reitman saying something about Ecto-1A or something about GBII that was gonna be addressed moving forward. Can't remember the exact quote.

So what about that whole thing about Ray saying the firehouse was turned into a Starbucks?

The after credits scene in Afterlife with Winston showed he had bought the firehouse back and Ecto 1 driving into it.

Yeah, but it wasn't a Starbucks. It looked abandoned like it hasn't been used since the 90's.

That's a bit of a leap

Exactly. There's no indication it was ever a Starbucks. Even the doors are the same. Starbucks would've broken down those doors during the remodeling.

Maybe Winston had it cleared out first? He had a lot of money more than enough to so. Or because the Ghostbusters were famous Starbucks kept the firehouse how it was to attract customer and just sold coffee from there.

Also how is it a leap when it was literally showed to us?

Ultimately it doesn't matter Winston bought it back and it now belongs to the GB's.

You can fill the gaps as you please and you might make some sense out of it, but at the end of the day I think they just made a minor mistake.

Possibly/probably. For me it ultimately doesn't really matter. Star Bucks could quite easily kept the firehouse as is for a tourist attraction.

Yeah, to me I just took it as they kept the interior looking the same. Like if you've ever been to a brewery that used to be a bank or something and they still have a big vault in there and it very obviously used to be a bank but it gives the place a little character. And in-universe we'd be talking about a famous location with a lot of history for NYC and the world.

Either way too much has been made about this.

I recently read Aykroyd's GB3 Hellbent script. It was crazy ambitious and would have cost a fortune to film. Afterlife definitely felt like a small and intimate story in comparison.

Truthfully, I was kind of disappointed they went back to Gozer for the last movie.

I am excited about returning to New York and getting the firehouse back in business again hopefully. I hope the new villain is cool.

So NOW they bring Slimer back.
