Go and see SUNSHINE. Now....

I loved the movie, but this is is something I got confused about. I got the impression Pinbacker killed his crew be because god didn't want him to restart the sun.

That is exactly the impression i got, Pinbacker was definately responsible for the deaths of the rest of the crew IMO.

He went crazy before that, as indicated in the video message the Icarus 2 crew see.

I love, love, LOVE this movie. Gorgeous stuff.

Thought this was a really great movie.

Only real problem I had was the annoying visual effect Boyle had up everytime Pinbacker was on the screen. Other than that, I thought the cast and soundtrack were really good as well.

That was my biggest problem too...it was dumb. But what a twist! Another huge complaint I had was setting up the characters. I wanted to see more of a 'I think he/she did it' dynamic and make these characters go a bit stir crazy. That also was an extremeley huge ship...I don't see how they can run out of oxygen in 5 hours:huh: It was trying to be a psychological thriller but didn't quit live up to it.

7/10

THe problem I got with this film... is that it tried to be legit... when it was anything but... now I ain't an astrophysicist or anything but they should have tweaked the premise... Sun is dying??? Nah ah... not in another four billion years... there are tons of space related things that can doom humanity (not thinking about an asteroid) that they could have went with... but it is science fiction so I'll give that a pass... and the whole Pinbacker thing killed it for me... they would have been better off going with an alien or man made robot or some sh:t as many times as that's been done before... but a homicidal freak job with nothing but burnt off flesh (who you couldn't even make out btw) was a little overthetop... plus I can't buy Chris Evans in a serious role like that... his performance was laughable... just little nit picking things... but considering the small budget... it was watchable for the most part.

I agree with one thing I couldn't take Chris Evans seriously either, "It's gonna be cold, But we'll make it!" The way he delivered that one line made me crack up.

Yeah that too... and then in the beginning as well with his little tough "captain america" type speech... he's like "Anything thing that comes in the way of our MISSION... is out of the question"... I swear the whole crew should have dropped on the floor laughing... was pretty funny... plus in space for ten seconds with no suit you'd be dead in less than three seconds... nitpicking I know but still... a poorly executed film I thought.

I liked the film I just couldn't take him seriously, especially anytime he tried to get serious. It's all because of Not Another Teen Movie.

I thought Chris Evans did a good job, I guess I'm glad I did'nt see that movie to ruin it for me. Though his performance in FF4 was laughable, this role was 10x better.
Far as the premise of the movie,ya it was weak. The whole sun dying thing was bad,but not terrible, this was way more believable than the the core of the earth stopping, and drilling to center of it...To me this movie was more about the people not the entire mission. Far as Pinbacker, it was okay,to one poster reason he was hard to see was they were closer to sun,and it was just a distortion look. If ya remember they mentioned closer to the sun the got,the more distorted time, and space became..
Anywho, was a decent movie, and the soundtrack was a big bonus to the mood of the movie.

I picked up this movie a few weeks ago because I kept reading about how good it was, and I kept wondering while watching it when the hell it was going to get good. The film had some great visuals, and the one character with the sunglasses that is obsessed with the sun was really great. His opening to the film, his death, and most of all- the scene where he's begging the Captain to tell him what he sees right before the sun engulfs him was great.

Unfortunately the good things pretty much end there. Outside of the superior visuals, the film felt like a poor man's Event Horizon. Much like 28 Days Later, there's a couple of great moments littered throughout a sub par, forgettable film.

Where have you been man, they are on FF44 at this point.... In the year 2000.

This movie is beautiful to look at. After seeing this Slumdog and 28 Days Later Danny Boyle is one of my favorite directors.

In Space.... No One Can See You Tan... :hehe:

I watched it a couple of months ago. Lovely movie.
Nice to see Cillian Murphy in a good guy role for once...

I'm REALLY considering re-buying this on blu-ray, it is a great movie as it is, but the visuals are just sensational, and I think they would be amazing on Blu-ray.

You don't know how right you are. Looks stunning in blu-ray.
