I find it hilarious Elizabeth has more or less stolen the Olsen name from her own sisters.

She hasn't stolen jack, it's her name. It's not her fault her sisters were child stars and weren't able to transition into legitimate actors as they came into adulthood.

I imagine doing way too much of the naughty nose powder didn't help lol.

Saw a tweet by Seth Greene, he liked it.

And Gareth Edwards places the fat Godzilla comments to a respectful rest (Along with the rest of the cast)

I was watching the Heisei Godzilla vs. Mothra and Godzilla is quite hefty in that movie. In fact Godzilla has always had a large mass since the first movie. I think Japanese fans are just being xenophobically critical because this is an American Godzilla. Do they want GINO back?

P.S. If the Japanese fans want Toho to make exclusively Japanese Godzilla movies they should have contributed to their Box Office numbers in the early millenium when the millenium movies weren't making a lot of money due to fan disinterest.

I think you've misinterpreted what I meant by that.

Pretty sure he meant that they don't really make headlines like she does anymore.

Yeah, given that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are insanely rich and successful from their work as producers and fashion designers, I think they're probably fine with Elizabeth getting the spotlight for her acting skills right now.

Being in the UK I'm not sure quite what it is but the Chicago Tribune simply said "it's really good".

@Aaron_Morgan
Loved Godzilla. It hit all my fan buttons. That ending is phenomenal and worthy of all the build up.

Godzilla isn't perfect, but holy **** did it stick the landing in the last act.

@EricVespe
Best moment at the after party: seeing the Toho guys tearfully tell Thomas Tull that he perfectly captured the Godzilla of their childhoods.

(Those were all re-tweeted by Faraci. Maybe he thinks this is a Marvel movie? :p)

So far (and I know there's barely any reviews) but slight consensus is it's a really good film with a stunning ending but as expected with any film a couple of flaws.

Glad so much of the early buzz is positive. I can't wait to see this next week.

And nice to know that the slow build towards Godzilla's reveal is worthy.

I'm getting a very old school vibe from this film: meaning pacing, structure and visual presentation. It's going to be refreshing seeing a blockbuster with such an old school approach.

Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune says:
Next week the new "Godzilla" opens, and while we must wait to discuss it (other than to say it's really good) it's never too late to pay tribute to the 1954 film that made it possible.

This movie looks awesome, I have stayed away from spoilers so i am going in fresh when this comes out next week. Also, I just watched the 1998 Godzilla movie directed by Roland Emmerich. I was 11 when it first hit theaters and I am 26 now. But holy crap I didn't realize how garbage that movie is. There are SOO many cringe worthy dialogue scenes, character movtivation's, special effects, plot holes and more. How did that movie even get made or how did any one that read the script think it was good???!!

Yeah, that's the important part of it all. It's one thing to build the tension, but it has to be released in a satisfactory manner. Zilla and the MUTOs must really go at it in a big way.

Looks like a meeting will be held in talks for a sequel on May 17th (Gareth Edwards confirms this)

Hopefully Godzilla will have a satisfying debut and box office to make the talks become more solid.

Yeah I hope so too, X-Men is tracking to open BIG so I hope it can at least do well enough.Movie doesn't need to make a Billion to do well they were smart with their budgets, including their marketing one, unlike Spider-Man which reportedly spent between 150-and 200 million on marketing.

Marketing budget seems like it's pretty high for this movie. Hopefully they make enough to proceed with a sequel.
