That just has his "It's on!" face.

Here in Belgium i will see the movie also on may 12th! A special event called men @ the movies. One more week!

Just watched Gojira (1954) for the first time, boy, that's rough.

I can definitely understand it being a classic for many people but discovering it for the first time in 2014 ^^ At least, I enjoyed Godzilla thrashing the town completely, lifting up bridges like they were toys and toasting everyone with his atomic breath ^^ It's quite funny to watch & very cheesy as well.

The rest for me was really boring, except the last part of the movie when Serizawa ponders the implications of using the Oxygen Destroyer.

I'm gonna watch the other Godzilla movies listed as must watched, I tried several times but the story bits were so terrible that I just had to stop, but am tempted to just watch the fights themselves even though they're still cheesy & old as hell.

It's kinda hard to get used to it when you got what we have now in terms of CG & VFX with Edwards' Godzilla. I definitely love me some classics but sometimes, it's just too cheesy & cheap to make it through.

The score is on spotify, it is absolutely glorious, so old school, I don't know, it just has this John Williams vibe to me, or like it could be from the glory days of Spielberg & Jurassic Park (which ain't surprising considering Spielberg is a favorite of Edwards).

Good to hear that the movie seems to be receiving a lot of positive word-of-mouth, especially with all the pre-screenings and whatnot. :D

Found the full score. Really liking what I'm hearing so far! It feels like more of the brass-heavy Heisei Ifukube than Showa Ifukube.

Yeah. Desplat's using a lot of familiar sounds from his 'Zero Dark Thirty' soundtrack too, which I loved.

Did you watch the American version or the original Japanese?

And the John Williams influence is definitely apparent too. Especially
Godzilla's Victory.

Looks like there's two showings in Arizona, close to me. Maybe I should enter...

Plus if you register for gofobo, they'll just send you screening tickets once or twice a month for random movies.

I haven't gotten to go to as many this year due to changes in my work schedule, but in years past I've seen close to 20 movies for free.

Guess who just bought 4 IMAX tickets? :woot:

Looking forward to the "Godzilla Smash3" game coming out on the 16th for Android :D

Original jap. I think it's like some other oldies that I love, if I saw them the first time today, I'd probably wouldn't have nearly the same reaction.

If the action in that strike zone game is any indication, this movie is going to be freaking intense.

I already played the game when I posted it up, it was surprisingly awesome. It's kinda like, what if Godzilla was in a shooter. I think that was the first time in which a solider Godzilla game has ever been made.
