For those who've seen it.

How does [BLACKOUT]Bryan Cranston die[/BLACKOUT]?

[BLACKOUT]He's seriously injured when the Muto escapes from the secret base at the Janjira Nuclear Plant location. He gets some final words with his son before he eventually dies though.[/BLACKOUT]

God I can't wait to see this movie. The 1998 movie is one of those movies that I really liked as a kid and now as an adult I'm ashamed of myself for having liked it. I watch that now and think no wonder Toho was pissed. I just bought the criterion blu-ray of Gojira and I could care less about the dated nature of the effects, I think that movie is fantastic and I'm very happy about the response to this new film so far.

I loved the MUTOS. ALL the monsters stuff was A++. and the ending scene was PERFECT.

How does [BLACKOUT]Bryan Cranston die[/BLACKOUT]?

He's critcially injured when a Muto (I believe it was HokMuto) escapes from the Janjira Nuclear Plant facility and gives his dying words to his son.

The more I think about it, the more I come to realize that the biggest thing that kinda....irked me about this movie was some questionable editing choices. Some in regards to
Serizawa calling him 'Gojira' to all of the sudden Stenz calling him 'Godzilla' because it seemed natural and never really explained why that sudden name changed was there.

Biggest one for me had to be the Hawaii sequence. Don't get me wrong, the scene that proceeded it was pretty funny, I just wanted to see some KAIJU FIGHTS after all that great build up!! :BA So, for some that may feel there's a little 'too much teasing' those are definitely justified. But it all builds to a crescendo by the end.

I'll give my opinion if you don't mind. They didn't bother me. It worked for me and there is payoff.

It doesn't kill the movie for me because it REALLY pays off in the end.

Nextnolan I LOVED what the Hawaii scene builds up to. It was a bold choice. But It will annoy people.

This really was similar to Gareth's MONSTERS but with a huge budget and big fight scene at the end.

Does Godzilla go out of his way to protect humans, or does he just ignore them?

The way the movie is edited, it's like he does "save" a certain character, but it's mostly by coincidence. He generally ignores humans because they are not his prey. He only wants one thing.

One of the worst choices in the film IMHO.

Can't believe they left what in? Can someone post in spoiler tags.

If you really want to know.

It builds up to a jokey moment of Ford's kid watching the fight at home on TV. We see a bit of it on the TV screen. And he's just like, "Mom look, dinosaur!"

And that's the end of the first fight.

Sweet sounds funny and that won't bother me at all. Also knowing that the ending is gonna be amazing I will be very much looking forward to it.

Overall, does the movie live up to the hype or what(w/o spoilers please). I've seen mixed reviews(general reviews).

Based on the way some people have been hyping this up, the answer is unfortunately no.

Based on the clashing ways reviews have described him, what are you guys' thoughts on Aaron Taylor-Johnson's performance?

I thought he was a weak, bland, and dispassionate lead.

Seems mostly positive to me. The reactions towards it seem to be better than any Godzilla movie since the first one to be honest.
