the movie was pretty good, but sorely lacking in godzilla. and then every time he was about to do some cool godzilla stuff, you'd get excited that s**t is finally gonna go down and then it would cut away from it. WTF? i get doing that maybe once or twice to build the tension, but by the fourth time they did it i was like "f*** you, i wanna see godzilla smash some s**t up and fight these guys!" i mean, thats what a godzilla movie is. even the final fight where you finally got to see stuff they kept intercutting it with other stuff happening elsewhere. but the few moments where you do get to see godzilla do stuff it was awesome.
but still, godzilla was sorely marginalized. the dude and his family were the main characters (ok, fine), then the muto's were the secondary characters driving the plot...and then godzilla was just sort of a means to an end.
