It is, done by the same studio that makes the Netflix show Knights of Sydonia if your wondering what their work looks like.

This movie is going straight to Netflix outside of Japan.

Agreed. Both Cataclysm and Half Century War just screamed ADAPT ME!

Half Century War may just be my favorite Godzilla story period.

With its bright colors and Vietnam setting, Kong Skull Island Struck me as an image of what a movie of it could have been.

At an anime convention Toho has a booth that includes a mock up of one of the mechs that will appear in the film.

Also some materials have been released with a backstory for the film showing a timeline of monster attacks. Translations are coming in at a trickle.

May 1999 - Kamakiras attacks Boston/NYC area. 2.5 million deaths
September 2002 - Dogora in London. 3.9 million deaths
November 2005 - Rodan and Anguirus. Maybe something about Hedorah. 8.2 million deaths
December 2017 - Dagahra in Australia. 6.7 million deaths.
May 2022 - Orga in Turkey. 11.5 million deaths.
2030 - Godzilla appears.

Sounds cool. The 2005 year discusses Hedorah as being biological weapon, but its use contaminated the area of China where they used it against Rodan and Anguirus.

The text states that the kaiju are theorized to appear as a response to sudden change in the environment.
