Why the hell does "Ugly Betty" always get nominated for awards? That show is f**king horrible.
Supporting actor is all TDK was ever guaranteed come awards season. Director and Picture was always a stretch. I thought the Best Picture category might've been weak this season since projected favorites like Australia and Changeling weren't received well but it looks like their spaces are being filled rather easily without going to the blockbusters like Wall-E or TDK.
I can't believe TDK only got one nomination. I'm surprised. I guess it won't do well for the Oscars.
Mad Men is a brillaint show.
I find it so annoying that Ledger is going to continue winning "sorry you overdosed" awards. If he was actually winning them and being nominated soley based on his performance I wouldn't have a problem but he's not so it's silly. The whole TDK thing is just so silly to me.
I'll agree with supporting actor and (even though this one is murky, because it wasn't really adapted from one source) Adapted Screenplay. Okay maybe director too even though I hated the direction of the action scenes was a red hot passion.
Eh, I don't think that the movie would have made as much money or got as much awards attention without Ledger's death. End of Story. I know you all disagree but thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it.Huh? It's getting recognition and on award predictions because it's a great film. I doubt it's just because of Heath for the main reason.
Wasn't irrelevent to me. And I never said that that was Nolan's intent, I said that I hated the direction of the action scenes and that opinion is not going to change...good thing it was a great movie otherwise but I damn sure took off half a point for that. The Incredibles won the award for the adapted screenplay, although it was based on the series of comics.
And Nolan's main target wasn't making action packed film, so it was irrelevant as long as everything looked epic enough.
Yeah, he was playing a dude playing a dude dressed as another dude.t:

So it was nominated for Best Orignal screenplay.Wrong point about The Incredibles. It was nominated for Best Original Screenplay and didn't win.
TDK is based upon comics published by DC Comics. Yeah, the plot and dialogue is somewhat original, but the characters and many incidents are lifted directly from the comics. It's clearly an adapted story.
I have a feeling that the Oscars will remedy the snubbing today with a Best Director nomination. I'm kind of doubtful about a Best Picture nomination. I'm really doubtful about a Screenplay nomination, and I think it has no real chance of winning. I wouldn't vote for it with the "Gordon faking his own death" subplot that seemingly plays no importance or the Batman wannabes subplot that goes nowhere. It's a good screenplay, but it really has too many ideas to fit into the structure of a movie and some ideas suffer as a result.

I saw the film two times in theaters and love it but I still believe what I said.I agree with this.
Man, f*** Tom Cruise. Yes, he was funny and all, but in no way deserving of a supporting actor nom. They should have dropped him and given the extra spot to Aaron Eckhart. That man was the unsung hero of TDK.

I'm pretty sure it has to be adapted from ONE story. TDK was inspired by many elements from certain Batman tales but it wasn't directly adapted from anything. I'm sure it doesn't even share a single line of dialog with a single dialog bubble from anything. It shouldn't be nominated in that category and I'm sure isn't even being considered for it.
