Goldeneye to be released XBLA. For details and soiled pants, click here.

My God that's beautiful.

*single tear*

Nintendo will never sell it - which, as a Sony Fanboy - makes me happy.

I mean, at one end, the purist in me doesn't want to see the original touched in any way possible.

But then I look at that video and proceed to do one of these

That face should be reserved for Emma Watson only. :lips:

You know that reminds me. Something I've always wondered:

Why did the Natalya character model look like Gillian Anderson?

Good question, lets look at the clues.

"We're 5 little items of an everyday sort. You'll find us all in a tennis court". In... A-E-I-O-U. Vowels...

...but what do a clock, a match, chess pawns, and vowels have in common? What do these riddles mean?

Every riddle has a number in the question and they arrived at this order: 13, 1, 8, and 5....13, 1, 8, and 5. What do they mean?

Perhaps letters of the alphabet?

Of course, 13 is M. 1 would be A, 8 would be H, and 5 would be E. M-A-H-E.

Perhaps 1 and 8 are 18. 18 is R. M-R-E.

How about Mr. E.? Mystery.

And another name for mystery? Enigma.

Mr. E. Nygma. Edward Nygma. Rare was obviously fans of her less than amazing career and added her to the game in the only way they could.

I found one on youtube

Christ. I'm a Nintendo fan myself, but even I can see they were being ***s with this entire deal. :down

And I'm not even that big of a GE fan. I just want it, because I know it'll sell millions, and that means one step closer to a similar refinement of Perfect Dark. :o

You really are quite bright, despite what people say.

Goldeneye 007 = “Bean Project”
So a few weeks ago Xbox Evolved reported on rumors of Goldeneye 007 coming to Xbox Live Arcade courtesy of Rareware. Since then, there have been enough petitions and sites out there doing follow-ups that we believe the rumor earned even more research and limelight. First, I must apologize that we were slightly “misinformed” on the terms of how the title will be released, but nonetheless we guarantee that it does not only exist in one form, but at least two.

No, I’m not talking about a version for Wii’s counterpart to Live Arcade, I am talking about a completely different FPS created by Rareware using the same engine, and many of the same elements. One of our sources has revealed to us a few screenshots of the upcoming game, and the icon that you see for the game’s info in the dashboard is that of the PDZ Joanna Dark for placeholder purposes, but the games title is not Goldeneye 007; it is instead “Bean Project”. The source wouldn’t give much reason for this, but he advised it would be in our best interest not to post the screens online; instead we are opting to take them as what they are. They appear to be 100% legitimate, with the game looking very similar to Goldeneye, although some models, and other parts of the game are a bit different. The achievements for the game seem to fit also, one is for becoming a ‘00’ agent, another for ‘007’ and another for the now infamous silo mission.

So why is Rareware doing this? Well essentially, if talks between Nintendo and Microsoft boil over, then they will continue with this. For now, Microsoft and Rareware are offering to allow Goldeneye 007 on Wii while the game goes on XBLA with no legal ramifications to either side with the catch that Rareware will have nothing to do with the porting of the game to the Nintendo Wii, instead Nintendo may outsource one of the many new “Wiiware” developers that are developing original titles for the console set to be released later this year. Microsoft and Nintendo have failed to comment on the matter, however an Activision rep did put in his two cents:

”We have nothing to do with a Goldeneye 007 game, I would think that is Nintendo and Microsoft’s deal.”

We will have more on this story, and hopefully we can be playing Goldeneye 007 on 360 later this year.

http://www.mi6.co.uk/news/index.php?itemid=5854

Xbox Evolved contacted Activision, the official videogame developer for the 007 licence, about their upcoming James Bond title and the recently rumoured return of "GoldenEye 007" to Xbox Live Arcade.

An Activision rep said, "We have nothing to do with a Goldeneye 007 game, I would think that is Nintendo and Microsoft’s deal."

"Our own Bond game however, from Treyarch is powered by the same technology that made 'Call of Duty 4' and that, along with Treyarch developers 'Call of Duty 5' is coming along very nicely.”

As MI6 has reported from the first announcement onwards, the new 007 game will be heavily focussed on Bond 22, now titled "Quantum of Solace".

The report also indicates that Rareware are developing a new game which is heavily based on the original "GoldenEye 007" title, with just the Bond licenced elements removed. This is apparently being warmed up incase a break-through deal cannot be made with Microsoft and Nintendo to release to ported verion of the 1997 best-selling Bond game to both Wii and Xbox.

And the rumour mill is spinning on full speed again!

XBOX World 360 has a scoop on a upcoming game. Its claimed to be "a reinvention of a classic" and they feature several small bits of several screenshots of this game. More details will be revealed the coming week.

For the full story head over to http://gamed.nl/view/37547 , be careful! Its DUTCH! (as in the language)

Here's the screen"bits" :

This looks SO much like the Dam remake of Goldeneye ... have our prairs been answered!?

Original Dutch message:
'Waarom noemt die jongen die game nou niet gewoon bij naam?' zullen jullie denken. Nou, ik weet de naam niet, want dat weet Xbox World 360 alleen. Ze hebben de primeur wat betreft een Xbox 360 exclusive en laten enkele delen van plaatjes zien van de game. Onze gok: De remake van Goldeneye komt er toch.

Translated message:
"Why doesnt that guy just give this game a name?" is what most of you will think. Well, we dont know the name, only Xbox World 360 does. They have the scoop concerning an Xbox 360 exclusive and show bits and pieces of serveral screenshots of the game. Our guess: The remake of Goldeneye is COMING.

XBOX World 360 states the following :
"Let's just say, it's a biggie, a reinvention of a classic."...."There's been a lot of buzz about this game but no one has got the facts...until now."

I present you 2 new bits of screenshots :

The bottom right corner of the screen, that looks like a goddamn silencer. The last time I saw a Silencer up high and in the moutains was in GOLDENEYE 64! Could this finally be it? Did Rare, Microsoft and Nintendo finally made a deal that would please millions?

Wednesday ( next week ) all will be revealed!

Stay tuned ... I sure as hell am.

They wouldn't announce it during GDC, which is going on right now? Then again, I really don't have a clue on what they actually in that convention, I don't really follow it. But just from the screen shots, that is what it looks like. Is there any plans to release it on PS3? Or I guess any rumored plans?

Aaaaand when you put two of them together, you'll get :

Thats definatly a dam right there.

@Jerry!
No, they wont release it on PS3. Seeing as Rare once belonged to Nintendo and Microsoft ALWAYS wanted to have Goldeneye re-released. I dont think Sony has any saying in this ;-) Anyway, next week will become a good week if this is, INDEED, the Goldeneye remake everyone is curently talking about.

Its clearly Goldeneye HD. II assume that the project is still alive since it would be a cockpunch if they were having this big build up to an "Exclusive 360 game" thats been canceled.

itcouldbegoldeneye800px.jpg

If Goldeneye came to XBOX Live Arcade then move over Halo 3 & Call Of Duty 4 for most played game :woot:

So would this mean that the deal, where Microsoft gets to release an updated version, and Nintendo gets to release the original version, is true?

Guess so. Or something similar. Seems like either way, both will have Goldeneye in some form.

I would be tempted to get a 360 just to play this.

Or steal one.

It´s great for Microsoft to release Goldeneye on XBLA, but if that´s the Mega-Exclusive, that´s weak and pathetic.
To call a remake a Mega-Exlusive is.....dumb

Mega-exclusive? If it was being released on the Wii, how could it be considered exclusive?

Well, that was a big cockpunching. Check out the magazine's website. All this ******ed hype over a game thats canceled.

Nice one guys. Thats how you get people to buy your magazine. Hype the **** out of the "MEGA SUPER AWESOME 360 EXCLUSIVE" then say... "Oh yeah... The game was actually killed off months ago...LOL!"

There goes the last time this web site will be taken seriously & not to mention its credibility is now long gone

So would this mean that the deal, where Microsoft gets to release an updated version, and Nintendo gets to release the original version, is true?

If that's the case then it's win-win if you ask me
