Good question. I think he might have been referign to Flass in that he felt he was honest and could trust him and yet he turned out to be a real dirt bag. I don't know, really.

I think it was simply another nod to the Batman Year One comic. It was implied that Gordan made some sort of a mistake in Chicago (perhaps trying to take down a respected, yet corrupt, cop with out being able to finish the drill).

My god....are we discussing this now? e just said "I've been wrong before" it probably didn't refer to anything. He is talking about a guy dressing as a bat. HE could be out of his ****ing mind. It's mostly a semi funny line. Are we going to talk about the prison food Falcone was talking about next?

I think it just showed how weary Gordon is of people who seem to be honest/wanting to help out. Gordon's probably trusted a few people in the GPD that stabbed him in the back. The scene where Loeb is telling the cops to hunt batman down, and Gordon is in the doorway well positioned away from the rest of the cops speaks volumes about how he feels about his colleagues.

Gordon, having faith and trusting a man in a Batsuit......it's crazy....so, he's trusting his instincts in having that leap of faith with this dude.......so, I took it as "My instincts have been wrong before".....like, the **** could hit the fan with this one.....

I guess it's supposed to be a way of telling the audience he doesn't fully trust batman yet though it leads to nothing special.

That's true Wes Can I call you Wes? anyway I agreeI think near end of Begins you know that Gordon-Batman rooftop talk "I never said thank you" Batman replies "you'll never have to." Gordon now trusts Batman.
